Quitting Football for Freestyle
« on: Aug 25, 2011, 09:58: AM »
Some fsers started off as footballers...how'd you guys get to quitting exactly? Like how'd you know you wanted quit, how'd you let everyone know, etc etc.

It was easy.
First, I quit kicking the ball into a goal.
Secondly, I told all my friends to fuck off.
Finally, I get ice-cream.
BAM.
I became an fser, My whole story in 6 sentences.
BONER!

lol you're making this a big deal. The way you put it, it sounds like you're coming out of the closet...It's just a hobby. :great:
You don't really have to let anyone but your coach know that you don't want to play football any more.
Just like any hobby, you just realise that you're spending more time doing one over the other, and that's when you've 'quit'. There's no magical transition.

I would it could be a difficult decision if you were good at football.  If you are a top player who has a chance of getting a university scholarship or even a pro contract, you might have to come up with a sensational reason to quit.

That's unlikely to be your case, however.  If you are average or shit at football and enjoy freestyle, then just quit football cuz you're not that good at it and freestyle is more fun.

lol agree, we freestylers have the american thinking :P
The nitrophosphate process (also known as the Odda process) was a method for the industrial production of nitrogen fertilizers invented by Erling Johnson in the city of Odda, Norway around 1927.

some guys ( especially younger ones) can' t understand that there's no battle between football and freestyle.Personally i stopped thinking about professional football because of my injuries but i still train a lot,i try to be competitive but i always practice some tricks during training just for the fun of it.i can do simple stuff like tatw, matw, latw, timoatw ( i did my first atw back in 2000 when i didn t even know that it was called "atw") groundtricks and headstall tricks, i dont care if im considered a freestyler, but i know that im still a football player.

Good point.  There is no shame in being both.  Unfortunately, the majority of footballers and freestylers don't think that way.
