wow AL you have a bigger opinion on the Gunther situation than anyone else and you weren't even there. He did insult the judges, I don't think there is a video where you can see the looks on their faces during his sick 3 routine.

Petike and Daniel were insulted and went back to the hotel and Sean felt very disrespected.

Exactly ... almost noone commented about things of this championship, and I made 2 posts saying some opinions about what i would like to see and hear from home about this comp and some about what i've seen from the very few clips that were posted etc.. that says again, very very much about the 'FS comunity ' as you call it...
A championship like this and so few reactions... the fact that some one from home comments more than the ones that were there is pretty sad for freestyle expansion and all that shit...

I clearly stated my opinion on what i've seen and heard about what happened there with gunther, and I really think you should think twice before you say 'insulted' or "disrespected" - i mean come on... on short terms he said to them "you're not good at freestyle, i'm better, all you do is easy stuff for show" what's so insulting about that.. it's his opinion about their freestyle. im gonna repeat what i've said above.. saying that i also don't agree that what he does is freestyle-football and what they do is not.
I think this is the most awesome way of owning somebody at a sport - just doing what they do and more. That's what he was trying to do... as i said it was not quite right, because those guys also do a lot of other stuff.

well I haven't expressed any personal opinions on the matter I am just letting you know what happened because I was there. Sean felt disrespected and Daniel and Petike left the competition and everything came to a halt. That's just a fact.

freestyle isnt about owning someone. this is what makes us unique to every other sport, u have Skora and Rocco speaking and joking with guys who cant even do a nt combo, and everyone respects each other.

when we start to have a situation where respect isnt shown, the sport can go into a bad direction, and i hope this will never happen

the judges dont even get paid and they need to sit there all day making difficult decisions and paying close attention for 8 or 9 hours, they deserve to be appreciated and everyone should personally thank them for their expertise and time.

all of them have excellent CV's, how can you say that someone like Palle or Sean doesnt have knowledge on freestyle?

I loved gunthers show, i stood up and started shouting after the combo, but i also think he went a bit over the top and it was disrespectful.
but I have to say big-ups for going on the microphone after, and he said "i didnt mean to disrespect, and im sorry." so big respect for that, coz it takes a lot of balls to apologize too..

I think we can all just be friends and leave this behind, and btw if you werent there you will never properly understand the atmosphere or situation of it, so your opinion is pointless

Peace and love to all freestylers,
btw, Gunther should have won the sick 3 lol, fucking mindblowing combo! footwork power

how can they not pay them for being judges ? that's really fucked up ! and you talk about respect and appreciating what they did.. how the fuck can the organizers not pay them.. I would be really ashamed to ask them to come and sit there a lot of time with no payment.

If he said 'no disrespect' - that's good because that's also what i think, and people took it otherwise, BUT to say you're sorry after you do that kind of statement/gesture is kind of shitty, I wouldn't appreciate that, on the contrary - because this way, he tries to get good with everybody (the ones who liked it, will remain with that, the ones who thought "insult" will maybe accept the appology ) That's the crapiest shit ever.. i hate it when people do that.. turn around. because that's what im sorry means, you kind of take it back, right ? so wtf is this... you either DO/SAY something or you don't !

and about this:  " if you werent there you will never properly understand the atmosphere or situation of it, so your opinion is pointless " - my opinion is pointless because i wasn't there ???? WTF that's stupid! how can you say that ?

AL you really know nothing about the situation, Gunther is a really nice guy and respects every freestyler, he honestly felt bad that some of the judges were upset by his actions and he apologised to everyone and I commend him for that.

Anyway what's done is done and everyone is friends as far as I know. What a fantastic week :)

You think Lucaso is made of money or what?

And yes, Gunthers acting was very disrespecting otherwise Sean, Petikie and Daniel wouldn't have take it so hard. But as you weren't there, you have absolutely no idea about what you are talking about just as Dan is saying.

wateva u say, gunther was gr8 dere. .... but if u c the overall scenario den its actually bout every1s interest in wat kind of freestyle they like. wether its da showmoves (like s3, etc) or total hardcoreness (like footwork, skora, rocco, ars, mp, n many others). coz if sean n palle n daniel n da likes were to concentrate more on hardcoreness they would hav definitely been close to da world class level. n therefore this situation would not hav occured. ....

n sumtimes such controversies in freestyle spices up things so its okay. peace  :13:

People really don't seem to give much of a shit anymore about some cool/interesting/controversial shit anymore. Stuff that happened this week would get 20 page threads with opinions all over the place. This thread is just now picking up but still...

What the heck is going on? People just don't care that much and look past some of these things?

After two weeks in Freestyle comat and lack of REM rest I am back to life and here are my opinions about some things written on this thread. First of all I am going to response on AL´s things:

- I took care about players, slept 3 hours per day, tried to help everyone around and spend all my money for unpaid rooms on hotel. And I didnt get single penny for that. Why everything has to be for money or some reward? We took care about jury and paid expanses. As I can tell from what they said they liked it and nobody wants any reward (even their time is expensive)... not everybody is interested in money more than experiences.
- There were no complains about surface from players at all. Everybody found it perfect. I tried it, world stars tried, everybody was training there instead of other places around area and nothing was wrong with it.
- Also area was perfectly chosen for players. Since it was championships of two sports we had everything there. Frisbee players were on grass we had everything around. We made catering, bar, shop and many more stuff for making players feel good. Audience could see every single move from tribune and there is no doubt they do so.
- Dunno if you were ever doing any freestyle on stage but the thing is for players it is much more comfortable to play on stable ground then to feel every stomp on any kind of stage. It is true that it would give more professional look to competition but we care more about comfort of players than some cool clips under the stage.
- About posting news you are totally right and I am sorry for no information coming from our side... I really wanted to do everyday report from here but as I was waking up on 7am and going to bed at 4am with no rest at all I found it really hard and almost impossible. Plus I was trying to have live stream from there but wifi connection on place was so slow that you would see just pictures every 3rd second.

Now some other things:
- If you see all names in jury you would realize those are names which means a fucking lot in freestyle... anyway they are still human beings as you... how you want to blame them from bad decisions with so many great players. If you have 20 potentional winners on beginning there is no chance to guess who is gonna win that shit. I would love to see anyone of you writing shits over here about bad decisions on their spot and deciding 4 days in a row about future of this tournament. This is exactly problem of every tournament. You cant predict results on your own feeling if you havent seen previous battles. Battles are mainly about to show something new in every single round. Not to do only great stuff which everybody knows you can do properly but show some more variety and creativity. Thats the reason of many jury decision and I am really thankful and honored they could be there and do such a job.
- it is also the same thing with names in final. If you didnt see Fx and other great freestylers in final thats maybe because they had an unlucky time during qualification or did always the same things in it. It is different to judge tired from the seat in front of player and in comfort of your chair from youtube video with minimalized youporn.com window.
- about Gunther and his thing I first found it funny and I really went crazy after he landed his last combo. But after he throwed the ball on judges and I saw Séan going to his direction I just stopped to breath. I realized it was disrespectful and insulting which anyone from players shouldnt be allowed to do to majority as jury is. If we wouldnt punish this everyone would keep fucking with jury as they wish. This had to be stopped, thats reason of his disqualification. Anyway he did apologize and talked to jury again later and explained everything. Gunther is fucking great person with lil bit hot head but always thinking the good side of things. Everybody respects him and thats how it should be.
- competiotion system was new in battle qualification. There are rules on the website and I realized it was pretty useless to have website cause almost nobody has checked it. Anyway I want to apologize to everyone for a mess which was during whole tournament with schedule and rules as well. As I said it was pretty new and rules are still in progress. All the chaos was made by some players who registered themselves and didnt show up with no excuse and some of them canceling participation 3 minutes before start of competition and of course rain did some mess as well. But I dont wanna excuse myself from chaotic work so I consider this as my failure. Will try to do better next time.

And one important thing at the end: We are not company with billion dollars budget making some big ass competitions in exotic countries to make money from commercial and PR. We are just bunch of people crazy about freestyle who are trying to do the best for the sport and show players that we can make some work with low budget. This event was made from players for players and if anyone want to doubt our goals of making every player happy I dont care. But be sure we are not gonna stop since we have had all the support from players who keep coming to our events and enjoying every single moments in Prague.

This is what freestyle football is about. We dont need money to kick the ball!
