Doesn't bodybuilding require just as much time as freestyling for you? 2-3 hours in the gym seems about right, doesn't it? So how come you decided to pursue that instead of freestyle?

No. You can get a great work out with weights for major body parts in 30 minutes. I usually train for about 45-60 minutes with leg training being the exception which is always a little more than an hour especially if I do calves and/or abs too (making it closer to 90 min).

Intresting read dawg

1-How did you know it was you're time to leave the game and not just you hitting a motivational slump or a wall which you just had to push through?
2- What was you're main motivation and inspiration that made you wanna get up early in the morning, put the hours in and training you're ass off?
3- Do you think it's possible for somebody to train how you did for numerous years and not lose the passion and fire?
4- Plans for the future?
1 It just made sense. Just felt very clear like it was time.
2 Having competition dates would always be helpful. Also focusing on beating myself. I always competed versus myself making sure I improved and there was always something to be improved upon. There were many inspirational sources, it's hard to just mention one like that. It's also not really just a matter of inspirational sources but also a mind set I had. I was going to succeed and that was it.
3 Yes I do. If I could live off freestyle I might have done it.
4 With freestyle? Might do more than usual this summer but as school starts I'll cut back again.

Fx blesses himself before a patw combo, Tiernan blesses himself before a neck to sole transition.... but hey thats next generation
I was going to be there...but now I'm not going to be there

1) Find out what ways there are in your country, there's usually more than one. Pick the one being the easiest for you. Find out how others have done. Stay focused.
2) No I most certainly can not but if I really really wanted to I am pretty sure I would be there within a month

Good to hear from you again Oli and I agree with what you have said.

It's basically changing from a boys life to a mans life, going from no responsibilities to ahh ok I have to actually do something
(career wise) with my life and it is hard to fit freestyle in particularly the level you were at.

I really do agree with your opinion on not getting the respect you deserve. But not just you, I mean all relatively new freestylers who rock
struggle to get the same attention as the old schoolers even if they are much better freestylers (weird ey).

Anyway good to see you have the passion back!

You didn't get the respect you 'deserved' because you treated everyone as if they were underneath you. Your outlook on yourself is another reason people may not respect you.
But everyone knows you were/are a high level freestyler. Actually, as I recall, you were much more 'respected' when you concentrated on new shit the most.

Yea I miss the feeling when it was really fun to land stuff but later on it became too much of a competition versus others "oh this guy did that so I gotta do this" sorta thing and trying a combo 5 days a week for 5 weeks and finally landing it only to feel like "oh well that's that" is something I certainly not miss and unfortunately that's the feeling I remember the strongest

Hey man I think I remember you from waaaaaay back. FDU days? Right? Cool to get your input. Take care!

I didn't treat everyone as if they were underneath me. I treated those underneath me as if they were underneath me. I stay true to myself and I stay true to the truth, if someones underneath me I'm not pretending he isn't. People like you for example.

Since growing up I'm sure I've always treated people with the respect they deserve. If someone disagrees a recent example of not doing so is gladly seen.

With that attitude you'll never be respected by anyone that has respect for themselves.
I hope you enjoy the little respect you have from people, if there are any left.
Have a great day.

5) BOREDOM - Lowers got boring. It used to be such a passion filled thing to me but just as written in 2) I felt like I didn't get the respect I deserved. So what if some dude could do 5 alatws or another dude can do 15 amatws, he wasn't touching me in any other aspect than that one and I would destroy him in uppers, sits as well as performing and people didn't recognize it at all. So the only thing that mattered was amount of amatws nt one can do? No thanks to that.

thats the same point i struggle with.

I agree with everything you said and I really don't care about what happened in the past. but...
seriously?
you won't treat everyone with respect? you're quick to judge and act upon such silly judgement.

this is pretty funny tbh... funny how u and max both said it was a competitive thing to be better than others in lowers.. i know im not a proper hardcore lower fser, but ive never really looked at it like that.

if you just do what you wanna do, usually people will give you recognition for it. me for example, im not one of the best freestylers in europe by ANY means.. (in terms of fs ability i wouldnt put myself in the top 30)

however, in terms of being well-known id say im at the top of the list, i dont know why, but my guess it because i just do what i want with my freestyle, make some vids and organized amsterdam

so clearly, actual freestyle ability has little to do with gaining recognition on a large scale

ok its quite late and im still feeling ill, so that post probably doesnt make any sense or serve any purpose whatsoever, but yeah haha...
peace to all, and to all a good night.
