Way of ahtatws
« on: Jul 14, 2011, 04:52: AM »
Hey guys, I've been practicing ahtatws for about 2 or 3 days now, and I had gotten it pretty good with my right foot going over first (my strong foot), but now I hurt myself SO much every time I attempt it that way! Learning it the other way seems so much harder....has anyone else gone though this problem? I don't know how to switch and bring my weak foot around first! Help needed!!

Everyone seems to do weak ahtatw, since the last rotation is with strong foot, which would be faster to go around with.
if you wanna learn with weak foot first, just dont think of the first rotation of atw with weak foot, think of the second rotation with strong, jump waist level, and you'll probably get close in the first couple of tries, and or get it. :) cheers!

I'll give it a go man, thanks :) But did you also have that painful feeling when you do it the other way/strong way for me?

Not really sure if this will help at all
But brian lockyer told me to think of the first rotation as an aatw motion

Basically an aatw but you swing the other foot over too, it'll make it easier/faster/cleaner.
BONER!

Exactly what I'm doing :) Practicing lots of inside abbas so it's easier

imo there's nothing wrong with the style, try to get more speed. You'll get it easier and better touch after.

thanks man, appreciate it. I try to make it fast but every time I go for speed, my touch gets very messed up, so I focus on my touch a lot more, and slow down on the trick...I gotta fix that I guess haha
