To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail.
It's what you do that counts, but it's how you do it which separates you from the rest.
You can't have creativity unless you leave behind the bounded, the fixed, all the rules.

men you have to stretch before and after a session
Although I do agree with this statement, it's completely irrelevant to this topic, because the cramps weren't caused by the lack of stretching.

if you always stretch your muscles before and after it will be less likely to have cramps  and your body will not react that way when you over exercises

i disagree
stretching is good only after fs; warming up (which can be done with basic trick combos) is good for the beginning
i read a book by brad appleton on stretching and flexibility - which was recommended to me by ethan - great read - highly recommend
but anyway no need to start an argument here biyan, besides its not nice how you tell gustav what to do.. moreover cramps have nothing to do with stretching - its about calcium and other minerals in your body - by maintaining a proper diet you may never have cramps in fact

Well said Alexis, I agree with the end of your post and that was actually what I was aiming at, but I disagree that stretching should be done only after training. Maybe you were referring to static stretching, but there are other forms of stretching, such as dynamic stretching, which should be a part of a warm up.

A quote from the very same book you mentioned:
Quote
Stretching is not warming up! It is, however, a very important part of warming up.
Warming up is quite literally the process of "warming up" (i.e., raising your core body
temperature). A proper warm-up should raise your body temperature by one or two degrees
Celsius (1.4 to 2.8 degrees Fahrenheit) and is divided into three phases:
1. general warm-up
2. stretching
3. sport-speci c activity
It is very important that you perform the general warm-up before you stretch. It is
not a good idea to attempt to stretch before your muscles are warm (something which the
general warm-up accomplishes).
