Couldn't really tell you how long it takes to get to intermediate or hardcore, since a lot of people confuse rollers with "hardcore uppers."

You'll be able to tell when you are good, you will have a fast flow.

To train, I usually start by just doing every trick I know how to do. Unlike lowers, we do not have a mass amount of tricks, so style/speed is what we aim for.
When training try to get:
1. A really low around the moon ------ don't throw the ball 100 feet in the air like most people, the lower the around the moon, the better it looks.
2. A flow ----- it takes time to achieve a flow, but basically, try and do all the tricks you know in one combo as fast as you can --- do not sacrifice style
3. Incorporate body tricks --- try to get really good at going into chest rolls FAST. Study 1:14 in the luki video, speed is a must in body tricks
4. Long hair --- you want to look like turlakov so people will think you are amazing!
long hair haha! but what do you mean to not sacrifice style? oh yh, and what is considered a "good" style in uppers? like in lowers it would be juggling smooth, with toes below knee level, so in uppers...? thanks
The most common mistake that people do in uppers to get bad style is throw the ball in the air. When you do rollers, keep the ball on your head, and it will look better, also if your doing sideheadstalls, make sure you have symmetry - that means your right side headstall should look the same as your left sidehead stall

If you want rollers: Turlakov and BenGau are the 2 that come to mind.
For speed (which I prefer): Szymo, Luki, Olly Bowman are all very good.

There aren't that many legends, but a new video is coming out that should surprise a few people :)
