Improving Stamina?
« on: Mar 02, 2011, 02:16: AM »
hi, I've been practising consecutive HTW's, but after around 8-10 mins, i find myself exhausted, & can't carry on practising them... Is there any help out there with any sort of exercise, with or without a football, which could potencially increase my level of stamina? or is the easiest thing just practise & do lots of easy combos?
thanks  :great:

imo just practice a lot... even when you are exhausted... train so long that you can't do anything anymore... :D

you may try running. or maybe your technique on htw's is not comfortable for you. htw require the most stamina.
The nitrophosphate process (also known as the Odda process) was a method for the industrial production of nitrogen fertilizers invented by Erling Johnson in the city of Odda, Norway around 1927.

10minutes? There's obviously a problem in your diet or you've never done any sprot in your life. Eat something high in carbs 30mins before you freestyle and see if you can freestyle for longer.

I usually have something with bread. It's the easiest sorce of carbs I can make myself. Sometimes a banana. Usually both if I plan to go for a few hours but that's rare.

So eat a sandwhich or something and see if you can go for longer than 10minutes.

Bread's crap (in general, unless maybe whole grain bread), bananas are also crap (for pre-training, they're much better post-workout).

Have some lean meat with some "slow carbs" like rice or pasta 1-2 hours prior to training.

For the original poster, try to do shorter periods when practicing them. Like, do them for 5 mins, then move on to something else, then return to HTWs. You can try with HIIT for building up you anaerobic and aerobic capacity, but better just stick to FS, not sure how much carryover would it actually have.

Pasta relises slow energy which is a good meal if you want to train for a long time

But it's easier to take a slice of bread out of the baf than prepare pasta just to freestyle longer :P

Energy drinks are rich in sugar, which is a "fast carb", which is best suited for post-training.  :Woot_Emoticon:
