To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail.
It's what you do that counts, but it's how you do it which separates you from the rest.
You can't have creativity unless you leave behind the bounded, the fixed, all the rules.

@Sven - that is actually when i first thought about this technique, when i was learning co latw nt! did the crossover moment then convinced my legs it was just an alatw and it was much easier.

@LIS - before you do the move think to yourself how you can make it easier (i.e if there is a crossover u are gonna need to convince your legs it is just a normal first touch) and then as you do the move your brain needs to be reallllly believing that it is just the trick from the first touch, not the crossover.

Its all about getting used to basic leg movements which are involved in the trick, this makes your head(brain) more stable and also makes you put lesser efforts when you are actually attempting the trick you want.Going for the trick directly will get you nowhere.

It helped me land Lmatw,
I thought of it as atw-matw and that way I got it 10-20 minutes :)

heres my story, maybe its relevent..
i was trying lmatw (for the first time) for like an hour, and the mental pressure and the thought of difficulty was making me do worst tries possible. so i was like screw it! i will do a beautiful latw combo for the video, the thought cheered me up and released all the pressure and i started the latw motion this i always get perfect and BAM! out of nowhere i hit lmatw(like half way through, my brain made my body go for lmatw on its own), first lmatw in my life...
This shows that i had all in me to do lmatw but something in my head was screwing me up. i must say the one hour of training stored the required data to do the trick and when i went for latw without any pressure everything clicked and i was able to do lmatw (perfect style, good co motion.)
hard to explain..
The nitrophosphate process (also known as the Odda process) was a method for the industrial production of nitrogen fertilizers invented by Erling Johnson in the city of Odda, Norway around 1927.

its possible to trick your mind into landing hard tricks by pretending you are just doing a similar trick that is easier...

the mentality you need is "nothing is too hard for me, i can learn any trick there is out there"

and you need to actully belive it :)

some guys will say thats "cocky" but this atitude can help you alot learning freestyle...

Ethan, I know exactly what you are speaking about! And it's really good explained!
I've actually think about this really much. The problem with me is that I don't got the high level to do it on really...
I think I need to learn amatw with weak first before I try tatw-amatw nt if you know what I mean!
but a really good post from you ethan!

good thinking, i would be surprised if you were trying to do it without being able to do amatw weak foot

well learning tatw-amatw starting with weak foot is way easier

if you want to learn tatw-amatw from strong (which is a very good thing to learn btw - very beneficial for nt in future) - you don't just need to learn amatw weak first like you think - you gotta have at least a record of 3 amatws, also latw weak foot for speed and control (and know and be able to do other things too)
unless you want to do it once on camera - show it to your bf friends and be happy

knowledge plays a big role too, so does mental approach

p.s. it is strange that so many people start practicing nt, before they master the very basics and get consistent at 25-30 trick combos
i know why - it requires a lot of work
no matter how often you guys say how much you love fs, deep in you head you don't want to sweat your ass off - but hope for some miracle or whatever

yes I think it's true, when I complete my tatw, there's a small time frame I feel myself "freezed" and can not do the amatw at the very right time.
freestyle, seeing is believing.
