LP ideas
« on: Feb 11, 2011, 06:32: PM »
Yo guys, i am doing a talent show LP in school soon. Last year i entered aswell, i did pretty good and did tricks like neck stall T-shirt off, Sean`s pen trick etc, and i don`t want to repeat the stuff i did last year that much, cuz they have already seen it. I want to do some stuff that is appealing for the crowd and good for LP`s.
Any suggestions?

Here's an idea: try to create something of your own instead of taking/copying other people's ideas. ;)

Let your imagination free and put at least the same focus on the show as you will on the tricks you'll perform.

Additionally, if you know some (preferably more experienced) dancer/bboy, ask them for help, because they know how to make a good show.

P.S. It's not Séan's pen trick.  :039:

I'd agree with Miran, but I think some ideas may help you. People love tricks that involve the ball spinning. So (if you can do) those spinning finger atws then a sideheadstall or something, it'll be fancy! even if you mess up on that, it's easy to go into shoulder stall and recover (for me at least). You might wanna do some handstands with the ball in a neckstall or hamstring stall or something, that is good too. try not to go into too advanced stuff because if you mess up and the ball goes far from you, it's embarrassing to run over and get it, BELIEVE ME I've had experience.

get some awesome music and coordinate some shit starting with simple warmup stuff and building up to finish with a huge crowd pleaser trick. you start, build anticipation, have some rising action, then a climax. like an orgasm.

Yeah, thanks for the feedback guys, but @AznMagic, what would be a good example of a crowd pleaser trick in your opinion?
I pretty much did everything last year, so repeating the same things this year might be a bit boring for them.
But of course you cant make it completely a new show, the basic stuff like neckstall etc has to be in there but you know what i mean.

could you do quick side heads? quick sidehead stalls synced with music always looks good. and then at the end do neck to soles or a clutch trick if you can.
BONER!

it's different depending on what kind of freestyler you are.  for example, skora's hardcore combos might be his ending trick sequence, whereas Nam the Man might go for his mega magnetic mix, etc. etc.  but it's gotta be something big, or at least something the audience will THINK is a big tricks or combo.  i once ended a show with a hat slip and the crowd went crazy lmao.
