Facebook or Forums for freestyle?

What you think?

If you could only have one, would you rather have a freestyle forum or Facebook?

I vote for a forum since it has a lot more flexibility.

There's a modification for a gallery that can be created.  I just don't know if people would upload enough pictures to make it worth adding.

I think the videos look good here, but yes... a "like" system or something that pulls the most viewed videos and ranks them... that'd be nice.

Sorry for the huge essay! :098:

On facebook you only get to see vids shared from your friends. And usually those vids are popular vids that i seen already. One of the things that attracted me to the forum was that you could see good vids from freestylers who you would not know about. Like when members like Royal Freakiness or Miran posted vids of weird creative Japanese shit it was somehow interesting to me.

Another thing i like is the topics about creativity, freestyle in the future, whether a trick is clean or not etc. I learn a lot about the sport here.

But most freestylers only fs to have fun with their friends. Most don't care about the technical details of the sport. This is why they just talk on facebook and don't care about these topics.

Also, on facebook you can develop relationships better, talk in you own language and also post random non-fs stuff. I can see this forum added other sections like general chat ,soccer, technology and a shout box to allow members to talk stuff besides fs and give a more community feel.

But i think facebook wins because it has a more personalised feel with photo albums, groups etc. This is why i think the homepage social network has very little potential, because facebook provides that and much more.

After thinking about it I now agree with you guys. Facebook really is taking over

I think sometimes we all want to separate our forum lives from our real identities.  Hell, I don't want my friends reading everything I'm posting here.

Sometimes I just have a go at someone or try to stir up an arguement for arguements sake.  It's not my real opinion sometimes...

I wouldn't post all that on Facebook so I like having a forum... I like them separated.  I don't even want to accept everyone's friend request on Facebook because it's Facebook, not just add-a-random-person community.

Maybe it's just me being an old school Facebook user.  I signed up for Facebook with my college email account, when it used to be a requirement and when you had to wait for your school to be invited by Mark.

Now, anyone can sign up and people add random people left and right.  Facebook is really personal and sometimes I don't want to mix and match with random people or speaking out about crazy stuff.

Forums are still the way to go.

Just go to BigSoccer or any other forum... they are all still huge... Facebook hasn't ruined any of them.  Not sure why that should be the case for freestyle.  I think it's just an excuse for a lagging forum.  That's why we all need to post and bring the activity and members back.

Correct... we're talking about an active forum however...

Facebook was around 4-5 years ago and it was just as big then, but freestylers came to the forums instead.  If a forum is healthy with lots of good topics, people will stay here.

We just have to get the good posters to post more and we have to encourage new members to be active.

People need to venture into the General Chat seciton as well.  I want to talk about sports, movies, music, politics, religion with our members so I can get a better feel of what people are about.

Don't be afraid to peak in the General Chat section people.

forum 100%
On Facebook you have to be friends with everyone to watch all the videos and discuss them... and sometimes not all of the skilled fsers are on there.
also, so many noobs on fb. they're so boring when they comment. no constructive criticism whatsoever..
