Help and Advice / Balls new generation and freestyle ball
« on: Jun 09, 2014, 11:32: PM »
Hi

After 3 years without freestyle, I want to start again.
I have a Puma Ligue 1 ball (this one) that was a gift from a football website, and it's very light and slippery. I sometimes train on cement and ground moves are like ice skating with butter-covered shoes.
It's one of the new generation's ball (well, the generation that started quite some years now...), the one the GKs always complain

And I wonder what freestylers think of these balls new generation? Do they like it? Can they do stuff with it?

I had one before and I got used to it, so I guess I'll get used to it too, but the question is: do I want too? I'm not sure, I don't know.

I also have a Monta ball street-match. But I like to train all at once, ground, air and all that crosses my mind, and that ball doesn't rebound at all (and is very heavy). So I don't know. Size 4.5 is weird too, not being used to it.
I guess I'm still quite an old school that like the ball we had 10-12 years oe so ago. Well, at least in my mind (maybe my mind would change if I had to train with it now!)

So my next question is what balls are very good for freestyle? What type of freestyle ball (like the Monta) would fit me (all at once and beginner)? Do you like old school ball, and where could I find it for example on Amazon? (I looked, but it's hard to know if it's new or old school)

Thank you for your help and opinion.

Hi!

For a long time I wanted to do a video of football tricks.
I'm far from being a world champion, even a city champion, I just have fun and try some things.

So here is my video (well, new one, with free musics)

General Chat / Re: Bad Self-Defense Videos and Techniques

Stefan Kesting did a video to explain why 2 techniques he saw taught as self-defense are the absolute worse!
You won't learn a lot because it's obvious why it's bad, but Kesting makes it funny

The only podcast I listen sometimes.
I really like Joe Rogan.
My favorites are the ones with fighters and fighting coachs, but the ones with Brian Callen are always good too.

MMA is today my favorite sport I think. I started following it 2 years and a half ago.

A short comp of Fedor, part of the video The Chronicles of Fedor:

Aoki, Hello Japan:

My favorite fighter, GSP, The Pretender

General Chat / Re: Good Self-Defense Videos and Tutorials

Stefan Kesting, black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu did a few basic tutorials on what to do to escape a street fight. I personally love his videos because he explains very well, he alsways has a bit of humor too.

The first one:

GO on hs channel for the others, it's pretty simple stuff.
And if you like BJJ he also explains more complicated stuff with high level competitors.

General Chat / Re: Joe Rogan Questions Everything
« on: Mar 05, 2014, 04:30: PM »
I prefer when he questions everything in the Joe Rogan Experience.
Being a TV show, there are all the conventions tv requires. Even Rogan said it. He doesn't like how some things are done in this show.

New Member Intros / France say hi to you!
« on: Mar 05, 2014, 04:29: PM »
Hi everybody!

Romano338, from France, 26.
I really enjoy freestyle for a long time, like I usually enjoy any for of freestyle in any sport (I love technique and entertainment). I used to follow football avidly but I stopped a year and a half ago because I couldn't stand the money involved.
I never played football in a club, I just played for myself, like freestyle. Never was a big fan of training over and over and over a trick either, I just trying to have fun!!
I stopped playing too because I injured my back for a few time, and then it's always hard to start again.

As a french, I try to follow the S3. My favorite in the crew or Sean, Melody, Leamssi. Other than that, I really like Abbas Farid amongst others

That was heartbreaking for Melody.
I think she tried slightly harder tricks and combinations, but the difference with Kitti is that Kitti missed nothing while Melody missed a few. Kitti is very clean in her combos.

Both are very good but man Melody is so great. What a freestyler she is!
I truly consider her the best female freestyle in the world.
I know she had trouble with Kitty in finals but I think based on what she can do she is better :great:
