I was just pondering the same thing, along with if we can say one is better now but the other is better for all-time. Personally, I'd put Messi ahead for all time but Ronaldo slightly ahead for the moment.
But on the topic of the best of all time, will either ever move ahead of Pele or Maradona you think? I came across this list of the best soccer players ever, as ranked by their crowd. I guess I agree with that list to a certain extent but I also made my own list to add to the rankings. It didn't move the players much. Maybe we need to vote more. Thoughts?
