Title: UEFA Champion's League
Post by: manutd. on Dec 20, 2007, 08:05: AM
Group Winners: FC Porto, Chelsea, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Barcelona, United, Internazionale, Sevilla.

Runners-up: Liverpool, Schalke, Olympiacos, Celtic, Lyon, AS Roma, Fenerbahce, Arsenal.

When's the draw?
Friday 21 December

Well, we can't face any group winners, or English teams, so we've got a pretty good chance at this.

I don't think you should be so worried. Lyon is not performing as well as they used to in the past few years. You'll beat them 3-1 and 2-0 probably.

Post by: manutd. on Dec 21, 2007, 09:29: AM
Yeah should be good,.. I don't know much about them so I love when we tie a team I don't know much about, cause then I learn about them. They've got Juninho.
Title: Re: UEFA Champion's League
Post by: a;sdlfkjas;df on Dec 21, 2007, 09:37: AM

 :)

They came on pretty strong in the latter half of fixtures in the group stage:  drew with Barca, beat Stuggart, beat Rangers 3-0 in Glasgow.  They have players like Benzema, Govou, Ben Arfa, Fabio Grosso, Gregory Coupet, Kim Kallstrom, etc.

Good players.  Inferior to United.  If they replicate their form in the latter half of the group stages, it should be a pretty interesting match-up.

They seem pretty good, .. I think it'll be close..

We'll ruin them at home though.  ^-^

i have no hope of us getting through, against a team like ac milan we have to take our chances and we dont do that, last arsenal game i watched i was going fucking crazy because we passed too much instead of shooting :cursing:
Title: Re: UEFA Champion's League
Post by: ^_^ on Dec 22, 2007, 04:26: PM
People act like losing to AC Milan would make us failures. I stress again the average age of the team most of the time is always like 25. AC Milan is LOADED with expirience, not to mention, they have fucking Kaka. Last year, they demonstrated this vs a dangerous United team. Seriously, they tore them to shreds. So yeah, the odds are against us, but we also must realize that we have a fighting chance, especially in a knockout competition. The odds aren't THAT bad anyway. Arsenal plays some good as soccer.

That is a chance, you guys struggled a tiny bit in the group stage so I'm wondering how you'll do against the top dogs.
Title: Re: UEFA Champion's League
Post by: ^_^ on Dec 23, 2007, 02:32: AM
The struggle in the group stage was in part because of Helb, Fabregas, and Flamini's injuries. Also, in the last game, 2-1, the professor fielded a slightly second team side. I think we've answered the critics with the win over Chelsea, in fact, we should have beaten Chelsea by 3-0 and you know it. It will be a test, but all tests are passable.
