anything on youtube? I refuse to download anything made by Li' Wayne...

I just wanna laugh at that shit-music-making douche

The crap he produces isn't music, it's mindless drivel off the assembly line.

Now Saul Williams, theres a man I can respect...

Also, Cypress Hill are sick

dude's not a visionary.  he was just on slam.  there are shitload of people who actively push the envelope.  saul williams is not one of them.  he's just a really vanilla spoken word poet who decided to rap (they have a fuckload of these).  his music isn't going to make me stick a sword through my head (like lil wayne is moving towards w/.5 of everything he puts out), but he's boring as hell.  i don't give a fuck if you like him, that's a personal taste thing, but pushing the envelope?  nahhh

dj muggs (cypress hill's dj/producer) has done a shitload of collabs that will probably be right up your alley (gza, planet asia, etc.).  look 'em up.

@lil wayne:

seriously, how did he go from that to "prom queen?"  not that that's any better, but what the fuck?

dude needs to start writing his shit

thanks for the tip.

But saul is definitely one of the best slam poets out there (I've heard plenty of slam, and most of his work, with some exceptions, is above and beyond the calibre of the average slam poet)

His lyrics are pretty excellent, though

as a written poet, hes half decent, but nothing to write home about

maybe out of slam poetry, but i would argue that a lot of shit that comes out of say "the anticon collective" is similar but much better

to be honest, almost all of it is drivel with improper technique and no meaning...you can't recite poetry that consists of words that sound good together and expect your work to be considered art. At least in Saul Williams, there's meaning, even if the craft isn't all there...
