Title: Video Editing
Post by: Finnery on Feb 14, 2008, 11:39: PM
To kick things off, who here wants to be involved in editing videos (I do).

And to the people running it, what do you want, intros, outros, captions to introduce people etc.

do you think it would be good to do a trial video??? also do you think we need to create some kind of intro tht is the same for all the shows?

Yeah, I think we should have an itnro that we use at the start of all shows, that includes the logo and freestyle show, and maybe several freestylers freestyling in the background blended together?

Anyone got any advanced programs they are comfortable with? It'd be nice if we had something more than just Windows Movie Maker.

Yep, I can use After Affects and Sony Vegas and have used them for a while.

OK, great! I'm really looking forward to this.

We can even include some highlights from big soccer games, and even regular soccer news.

I can get you those clips! I'll even crop the special bits from them and send them to Finny cause I already have him on MSN.

Obviously I've never edited a show before, but if you go on my youtube, there are quite a lot of videos that I've edited/special effects, compositions, transitions etc.

that one is good mario, but not at all my style.. if you guys want that kind of editing than cool, but in that case i am not your man..

A proffessional video doesn't have alot of effects in my opinion, so that's how i I try to work.. I don't like "destroying" clips with huge massive effects and such.. simple is the word, i try to let the clips do the talking if you know what i mean.. enough said..

I think Finny would do a good job anyway, since i'm not sure if i've got enough time on my hands.. I can add Finny on msn and help him out when he needs me... oh and about the intro, Bonbow tell me exactly what you want it to look like and i'll see what i can do.. a good intro is important imo

Post by: manutd. on Feb 16, 2008, 01:35: AM
I think the intro should have like a few clips of nice goals and some clips of the latest freestyle videos, and then it should lead to some vector text saying Beyond Football Freestyle Show.. and then let the biz happen.

First one imo is tacky.

Second one is really good with all the videos together in 3d space, I could do something like that, without a green screen it would be impossible to do a good job on the rotoscoping (the player doing kickups)

id am thinking more of a simple intro tbh that just makes u think of freestyle but also looks professional
Title: Re: Video Editing
Post by: Finnery on Feb 16, 2008, 09:31: AM
I just fucked my computer up majorly and got the blue screen of death and lost all my programs, Ive spent all afternoon right upto now downloading programs etc and reinstalling windows and am still not done, but I will post some Ideas tommorow when Ive played around a bit :)
Im thinking lots of small clips together in 3d space, at an angle, then the camera pans and zooms on seperate ones, then one of them is the beyond football logo and at the end it zooms in on that with a banging type sound to end the intro.
Alternatively, replace footballs on freestyle videos with the beyond football logo (really easy to do) and do a 'nike chain' type thing where everyone kicks it off the screen and it comes onto a new video from the otherside, and then the last clip is somebody kicking the football/beyond football logo at the camera and thats where it ends.

Anyone like the sound of those/got a better idea?
nighty night.

Haha yes mate, sounds so professional. I was waiting for you on MSN after the game, but you didn't come on, I'm guessing your reason above is why. I just sent you offline messages with some videos so check em out.
Title: Re: Video Editing
Post by: Finnery on Feb 17, 2008, 12:35: AM
Ive put a very sketchy possibility together here, I ran into a problem where the resolution of the videos was messed up when I made the videos into all the small little clips, but I can fix that I'm pretty sure, obviously its not gonna work If I dont fix that, this is just very rough and scrappy as a concept, not a final piece

edit:
bare with me, youtube is an idiot. Re-uploading.

wont make much difference, just don't judge the video on quality, judge it on the concept.
Title: Re: Video Editing
Post by: el mafioso on Feb 17, 2008, 01:54: AM
looks quite good i must say.. well done.. some pancrop improvement and you got a nice intro there
Title: Re: Video Editing
Post by: Finnery on Feb 17, 2008, 02:11: AM
Thanks, yeah the panning through clips isn't very consistent, and I just got about 4 clips as quickly as possible, they were different lengths/resolutions so it was quite hard, for the real one if everyone decides to use, will be more consistent and better quality :)
Title: Re: Video Editing
Post by: oLi on Feb 17, 2008, 02:35: AM
Dont use the same video on each mini screen and fix the sound
Title: Re: Video Editing
Post by: Bow on Feb 17, 2008, 02:36: AM
it is a good idea came across well though.. i am still not sure on the idea ( which i no was mine lol ) if you want you can just do your own ideas aswell ofcourse, needs to look more "urban" i think
Title: Re: Video Editing
Post by: Finnery on Feb 17, 2008, 02:47: AM
Thanks, hmm, any ideas on how to make it/make one that's urban?, I could try make a graffiti tag "Beyond football" that gets sprayed on...

Title: Re: Video Editing
Post by: Finnery on Feb 17, 2008, 02:59: AM
Read my previous posts, its just so it would render fast etc, It will be good quality in the final, but It probably wont be the final beacuse Bow whats a more urban look.
Title: Re: Video Editing
Post by: Bow on Feb 17, 2008, 03:03: AM

i maked this one for one Croatian forum, and uploaded it with old account,
I dont really like that way to edit. One thing to always keep in mind is to make so small changes on the actuall clip. The way you made it, just looked sliced.

I think we should have a clean intro, with a profesionall touch. Its hard to make it, but i think we can make it
