Title: Freestyle / Muscle Temperature
Post by: M4R10 on Dec 19, 2008, 10:58: PM
idk if you you guys figured out this, but i think i should write this....

have you ever fsed on a cold weather in shorts? and felt like youu can't do anything you could before?

well i think it is because of your body temperature, you are not capable to do all the trick if you don't have good body temperature to do it. So wear some comfortable pants on winter and you will be able to do all trick you could do. xD

after you gain temperature you can wear shorts :)

It's true. Your body temprature steers your body movement. However, if you warm up enough and you get your muscles warm you'll be able to do what you could do before. Your muscles is like a lot of rubber bands bound to two metal sticks. If your the rubber bands are cold your flexibility will be increased. If they are warm you'll be able to do as you could do before. The thing is that it takes a longer time to get warm in cold wheater than in warm wheater. So you can choose, either use pants and get quicker warm and maybe loose your movement ability or use a shorts, use longer time to get warm and get better movement. I choose shorts.

Not really, if you warm up correctly it is probably easier. As you are moving more to keep warm, also the lack of heat makes it better for freestyling long periods of time cause when it is hot, it drains your body more.

body temperature allways keeps the same... if you are inside or outside with cold then body temperature will allways be the same (between 34 and 37 degrees more or less I think)
its the muscle temperature wich matters... if u have done a good warm up then there should be no problem... otherwise it should I think.....

so do a good warm up nad there wont be any problem.... but remember tht body temperature doesent matter, its bullshit... just muscle temperature matters in a big way

Wouldn't your flexability be decreased ? Seeing that your muscles get smaller when they are cold, therefore, the reason for warm-up, so your muscles don't snap.

I agree, tbh i think (hope) he meant decrease, and like you said w/out warm up, you're more likely to get injured.

I see what your sayin, and fs in the heat pisses me off much so, not to mention you become frustrated easier when its hot.
But also when its cold you're bodys working harder to keep warm.

Yeah freestyling in summer sucks, you sweat so much!!!

Winter is great for freestyling, you dont need to put on pants to warm up. The body movement involved with freestyle will naturally heat up your body, and like others have said winter is better cause you can freestyle for longer.

But the shit thing abuot winter is there are less days where you can freestyle. More rainy days, more windy days, and in some areas it snows.

depends on how cold it its... winter in Australia doesnt really count hehe..

practice when its like minus 10 is pretty dumb. even whit a good warm up... cause its not healthy to breathe down so much cold air.

Coming from Scotland pretty much all year round it's crap weather.  It's never freezing and never boiling just always mild/cold temperature (all year round it's around the temperature where you have to go out wearing a jacket). And it always rain (never stops)  I usually practice at around 9pm outside so it's dark, cold and raining.  At the start I struggle to do atw because I'm so slow, takes about 30 minutes to warm up.

I've always thought that cold weather is good for you.  Like breathing cold air is good for your lungs and when I used to do running our coach said the cold air made it harder for our lungs so kept them healthy.  Also my geography teacher says our climate is bad for us because we get mild temperature all year round, whereas cold in winter and hot in summer is better to live in.
