Had a blanket of snow for a good few weeks now, I'll take a picture of where I train tommorow.  I clear a small section on the road and play there. Only problem is it honest takes around 20 minutes to warm-up.

3.  one tonight @ 7:30.  one friday @ 5:30.  one saturday @ 5:30.

my chemistry exams are done.  now i'm on to the shit that i don't really give a flying fuck about (biology, physics, calculus).  physics and calculus should be pretty easy, but bio. is only partially comprehensive and focuses on the shit we've done most recently (i didn't go to those classes).  thankfully i don't need anything over a high c to keep my a's

Title: Re: it's snowing here

any of you taking any english lit classes? I think I might have to take a uni lit class to make up my highschool courseload (because I'm refusing to take maths and sciences -- I'm only doing histories and englishes). If so, what is the atmosphere like?

becoming a tax attourny is an obvious possibility, one of many. i want to be a lawyer, yes, but  i'm still going to get my cpa and practice accounting while in night classes for law.

no, i'm not going to loyola law. i'm probably going to go out west or up north. if you are working and attending any type of graduate or law school, your employer takes on the responsibility of your tuition costs. it's not good to get both undergrad and grad degrees from the same school.

ouch? No I am seriously considering this option and I want some advice from actual university students who can tell me what it's like so I can decide whether or not to apply to this thing. You see, the thing is, I need my highschool diploma...and I'd rather get it doing what I want to do than doing math-science, which I definitely do not want to do. So please answer me and help me out a bit. If you don't want to help me, or don't take any English courses, then say so instead of just calling my question pretentious (if that 'pretentious comment was directed at me).

Thanks
Title: Re: it's snowing here
Post by: ^_^ on Dec 11, 2008, 08:46: AM
i assume he was calling the class itself pretentious :dontknow:

i've taken writing about literature, last spring in fact. i got an A. i did what i had to do. i wrote about english lit. my writing skills are pretty good, so it wasn't a problem. the text we analyzed wasn't anything special to me.
Title: Re: it's snowing here
Post by: a;sdlfkjas;df on Dec 11, 2008, 08:49: AM
no.  the atmosphere is pretentious.  there will be at least one person that you will want to smack in the face with a brick (this is all of college).  it'll be a good experience, but (depending upon english class) a lot of the people in the class are going to fucking suck.

it'll give you a nice college exp. with your parents there to keep you from doing anything stupid

sorry for the misunderstanding

yeah I know some of the pretentious writer types, and I always have to restrain myself from hitting them and laughing at them at the same time. So ELITE: was the level high? I'd be doing these courses at U of T, which has a really good group of professors (eg my parents ) but the classes ar fucking huge. And yeah, burress, it should be a good experience, but I'm trying to figure out which options would fit a combination of a) the highschool course requirements and b) my personal interest better. I can either do a university course, or do an independent study. I have no idea which one I'll pick, but thanks so much for giving me more opinions/input

Ah right, see when he said finals, to me that meant sport, and with the pic I just guessed.

We jus call them "exams" lol   Divided by the same language 'ey.  lol

the level is as high as you want it to be. i feel like i set my own standard. and if i lived up to it, i'd get the grades i wanted. but if i turned in a good paper compared to others, yet it was bad compared to my other ones. so naturally, i'd get a lower grade than usual (this happend a few times in my two semester long english courses).

as conner said, there were people that i wanted to destroy in class. it's a fun experience, but i only really used it to fine tune my writing. if it's what you like doing, i couldn't give you much input about the upper level english classes, which i'm sure are much better.

I'm looking more at literary critcism and literature, because thats what I need for my credit. But I am taking a writers craft course this year and I'm finding that theres not enough 'craft' going on...

of course I want to challenge myself as much as possible, especially poetically because that is my specialty (and no I'm not one of those teen angst people, if thats what you're thinking), so I'll take your words to heart.

I also know what you mean about setting your own standard -- my english teachers have been marking me harder for years because I like to be creative and I don't assume my readers an idiot, because I figure that is doing the reader a disrespect. If my english teacher wants to be considered an idiot, then it's really not my problem. I guess it's because I have always hated being patronized (ever since I turned five and my aunt was all congratulatory and said "hooray!!!! You're a whole hand now!!!!!!" I wanted to smack her upside the head) and I therefore can't understand why anybody would want to be...I dunno  :dontknow:

but yeah so I'll look into exactly what courses I can take

but don't you not have to take an actual science for a distribution requirement? Like you can take anthropology as a science...

unless what you're talking about is different from a distribution requirement

it's what we call "common curriculum"

i dont neccessarily agree with the fact that i have to take a biology class, but then again i could care less. finished the class with a 97 anyway

next semester i start to take classes more geared toward my major, which are intermediate accounting II and forensic accounting. right now is basically my last "easy" semester.

Cause it is serious ma dude. I graduated early so I could get to business school and start everything soon. Without that education i received, i would have been seriously fucked. I would be driving a stratus instead of a vantage, and my life would not be how it is right now.
