Title: how to do the basic juggle

hey guys i must sound like quite a noob but thats because i am (i started like 2 weeks ago) . i would like to know how to juggle the ball properly i tend to only get between 7 or 8 before i start to lose control and lose the ball i really have trouble keeping the ball close to me and i start to spin when i juggle. i also dont know at what time i should hit the ball. like should i hit it when its close to the ground or when its higher. or what postion my foot should be in should it stay rigid or should i flick the ball. any feed back would be great thanx

it depends...there are different styles of juggling. I point my foot down and juggle with the upper part of my laces. Some people (I sometimes do this too) let the ball bounce of their toes (almost), and then point their ankle up.

i hit the ball on my toes, so the ball has no effect. the max height of the ball should be approximately at kneeheight and you should hit it at ankleheight

Get yourself some nice total 90 shoes, or anything similar to its shape

What you want to do is, hit the ball rite in the center with your big toe. The ball should go no higher then your knee, do this while alternating feet, so left right left right etc

You will know if your doing it rite if there is NO spin. People do it with spin but i find that this way of juggling gives you the most control

to juggle properly, hit the ball up with the left.  and then with the right.  repeat.

oh yea.  tbh i don't really see how else you'd learn.  well at least for me.... i just picked up a ball one day and started to try n keep it up.  at first i could hardly get 4.  eventually i learned on my own.

I wish I could retrieve the old SG posts. I had made a long post about this topic on the old forum. I think www.beyondfootball.com might have a tutorial on juggling as well. Have a look.

yeah...its all about practice. Give it a solid couple of weeks and you'll get past 100 in no time.
