When Davids was a judge in Vienna all the montaplayers was placed top 3(and there was 3 monta players in the competition)

Maybe it was a correct decision.....I don't know

I hope to see Sweden/Palle as a winner

cool man, sounds good to hear some freestylers speak. and let's hope he's gonna do some great combos as he promised

great interviews, I do agree that Davids shouldn't be a judge, there should be no relation at all between the judges and the competitors, ofc he'd like a player from his company to win ! but this time its Palle and Nam, so even if they won it they probably deserve it ..

I expect the quarter finals between palle, nam, sean, nedzad

I think this is why freestyle is behind all other kinds of sports  with the judging.....

take for example ice skating, the judges, cant be there coach or there sponsor of the competor, because even if they do not cheat attol, no matter what they are going to be accused.

i also had a problem with red bull sweeden, the fact that in no other sport, one of the big favorouties of the comp, the best freinds would not be allowed to be the judges,(for palle, timo and daniel) and im not accusing them of any wrong doing, however it needs to be thought over...

I told the organizer the same thing but of course he was like "no, no way that won't happend"
I'm not saying they've actually cheated in the Swedish red bull, that's deffinately not what I'm saying, but, what I'm trying to say is that if you've known a guy for around 5 years I think you would like it to go well for him and if there's a battle where it's a close call and the other guy is some random guy you don't know... Well... You think about what happends next.

The sport is still young. When the game is growing bigger, there will be a more amount off capable judges. This is new for Red Bull and they don't know a shit about it, but i hope and know that the competition will be better for each year!

i firmly believe that Red Bull street style will become fuckin more amazing than it already is and i can see the event drawing in thousands of competitors within lets say, five years?
i wonder how many freestylers exist in the world (lets say freestyler is someone who practises regularly and has knowledge of FS etc)
i would say 1000? maybe a bit more

yeah...thts shit...in sweden the judges were at least freestylers, but now ive heard the judges are gonna be falcao, davis and bebeto, and other judge who is a surprise  :dontknow: ...but tht sucks...if they want to organise a world championship of freestyle then put at least judges who have a knowleadge about freestyle...

so imo the judgement will be a disaster....noob freestylers will pass to final, etc, etc....but its just my theory, I hope im wrong.....

Oh and don't get my post wrong! I think this competition is great for all freestylers! Atleast I got alot of media publicity and it seemed like everyone around here knew about the competition so that means freestyle getting more known which I think is really good. If this competition is held next year aswell maybe they can look back on the previous one and asked competitors what was good/bad and improve the competition.

i think the worse part about the judging is not even the fact that you have freestylers who are friends with some of the judges (like in sweden timo voted for emil not palle) its that the way they seperate each category,

its kinda hard even for a freestyler just to judge one or the other wether its control, style or creativity, cause you always have an overall opinion of each, so imagine someone who doesnt know about fs, maybe just voting for the best overall would be better, and thats probably what happened anyways wether the judges realised it or not...

I don't get it! That's a perfect example that they didn't vote for their "best friend".

“There is nobody in the world better on the ball than these guys. Only the best of the best have made it through the qualification stage to reach the World Finals. Some of the tricks they do are out of my league – if I had a go I’d be travelling home in the back of an ambulance,” commented an impressed football superstar and Red Bull Street Style World Finals judge Edgar Davids ahead of the final showdown.

There is nobody better on the ball???? looks like the organizers REALLY haven't done any research. seriously, a lot of noobs there. Just look at that guy who went busking with Daniel in that video of the red bull fsers on the top of a building. HE'S A F___ING DANCER!!! no control! I have a feeling that guy will like beat Palle if the were in a battle because of the judges' poor choice. ahhh... but whatever. it's a first time for FS to be this big... If they had done research, they should have just invited JK and JF there. would look MUCH more decent.

Lol, in the audio player, murilo's interview, he thinks he's not one of the favorites, around the world, HE IS!!! and lmfao "holy shit"

They say it because of the promotion.... of course they have to say that these are theworlds best freestylers otherwise it wouldnt make sense to call this event the worldchampionchips.

yea i know lol, i just wanted to bring the other aspect of the judging and show that its not always a bad thing you know, it shouldnt be allowed imo, but its not everyone who will choose their friend over at anytime, some can stay neutral if they are willing to

The overall winner will walk away with the coveted Red Bull Street Style winner’s trophy and the first place medal. As well as automatically qualifying to defend his title at the 2010 World Finals in South Africa, the newly-crowned best freestyle baller in the world will have the chance to give wings to his soccer dreams as he spends a week with the talent programme of one of the Red Bull soccer teams in New York, Salzburg or Brazil.

As well as taking home the second-place medal, the runner-up in São Paulo will learn all about a very different sort of freestyle as he takes to the air for a truly spectacular flight with one of the pilots competing in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship.

Third place brings with it not only the Red Bull Street Style World Finals bronze medal, but also the chance to hang out with your very own personal Red Bull hero. For example, ballers who like to unwind by catching some waves will have the chance to chill out with American surf legend Robby Naish.

Them are pretty good prizes but not all that special if that is it. Like if you win you may not be into football that much so might not really care about doin a talent programme. I'd do it, and im sure others would like to be a footballer too, but what I'm saying is that they are guessing/presuming every fser wants to be footballer.

2nd one would be cool, i'd enjoy it, but not so sure others may.

3rd is kinda shit like wtf personal red bull hero? Who? Don't have one.... So thats kinda weird imo
I mean there not really great prizes, especially when they're all to do with red bull so it's not going to be costing them anything. Like idk some money imo would be good or the chance to be in a vid with someone or something. Cos at the end of the day they're not doin it for the sake of the fsers, they doin it to promote their brand, so I think they should give a bit more back to the fsers.

Don't get me wrong the comp. is good n all and is only first year and good for fs. But I think they could of done it better, obvs. it not gonna be perfect first time, but they made some obvious mistakes that could have easy been changed if theyd actually been involved with some conversations with fsers.

i disagree that theyre not "giving anything back to the fsers" i mean they paid shitloads of money to organize all the different qualifiers and then paid for all the finalists to go all da way to brazil for a week too.. and even ppl that arent competing were given a free holiday too, like Tiernan and someone else off this forum (lucaso maybe?) so i think red bull are being very generous and this can only get better every year

lol at the prizes being shit, i think they are awesome, you get to go around the world doing once in a lifetime experiences.

Not giving back to the fsers is a bunch of bullshit too, you make it sound like no1 enjoyed the comp. I enjoyed every minute in ireland, the armosphere and just everyone together was fantastic.

This comp is good enough for me.

mr. woo's a judge. thats fucking nice man. i don't think davids will be a bad judge. he has really taken to the monta brand and street soccer, so he probably knows a little more than most footballers. freestyle needs to separate themselves from break dancing though. i can't stand seeing people like that judging this. it fucked farnworth in the komball kontest against andres, and i'm sure someone will undeservedly get a vote from him as well. mr. woo is a dream judge. the man who basically invented freestyle, and made it possible to be as popular as it is today. i almost wish he was competing. he definitely could do well maybe even win.

Yeah but think, all the freestylers have their opinions but as a performer Murilo has those talents aswell but he is underated. As we saw in the National Quals he is consistent has stage presence although he claps off beat doesn't he Miran...... And the flip trick also is a huge bonus. So its gonna be a tough one. I heard tonight that Murilo dropped it like 4 times against Palle, and Palle did not drop it once.. make any sense that he went through?? :dontknow:  other than home crowd
Does any one know how palle did, and do eny have more vids from the event?
Congrats Sean!!

maybe because he did a backflip and crazy legs was like DAMN
and maybe because two other judges were brazilian, bebeto and falcao...
if murilo dropped it 4 times then wtf man! no offense to murilo coz I think he still could beat Palle. don't get me wrong, I know palle is a greater fser, but murilo has a chance of beating him
however, I don't think it was fair that murilo won if he's dropped it 4 times   :bs:

i just thought it would be amusing to point out that sean won the rbss, but didnt have to go through any national qualifications... and not too long ago the french freestyle championship was held and mouloud won...technacly that would make mouloud...??? i know its a different format and stuff i just want to show you guys that this comp is in my eyes shit from a lot of angles, nevertheless congrats to sean you did perform very well from what ive seen!!!
