i'm looking at more than just flash and goals for this. gerrard has to be there for providing 20+ goals and assists last season along with the fact he is probably the most all-around player in the world now. torres for being the best striker this last season(had just as many goals as ronaldo if you do not include pks by either player), and his hard work for the team that most top goal scorers do not do. zlatan is probably the most talented striker in the world, and was brilliant for inter last season.

Van der Vaart has been ridiculously good in the past few months. It's going to take a full season of this kind of form to convince me he's a top 3, even a top 5 player though.
Messi has been unreal though. Has anyone been watching him play for Barcelona? It doesn't matter how many players are around him, he'll do something insane AND productive just about every time. It's really unbelievable, and to me he's the best without a doubt right now.

Dude is fire he can score anywhere any time. No one is fucking with him. I would like to see Ronaldo score twice at Anfield in one half.
Already on 8 goals 2 more and Wigan have to pay one and a half million to Al Zamalek because it was a part of the contract.

The guy had surgery, missed a few games, and he's already back to the form he was in last season. Most players would take half a season to return to their best. Not with Ronaldo. His short injury and surgery (that will make him better in the long run) and his a fancy personal life have nothing to do with how well he plays on the field right now. He's easily a top 3 players in the world right now.

One that definitely should be on the list right now is definitely Wayne Rooney. 8 goals in the last six games speaks for itself.
Of course Torres and Ronaldo are both damn good players but at this moment I would say Rooney is a little extra before them.
You just gotta love him !

When I say now, I don't mean the last two weeks. I'm talking about the past few months... I'm not sure referring to form.
It's OK though... Rooney makes for good discussion.

i dont get to see many full games in other countries other than highlight reels but it seems to me that messi is the man!
the english prem league has been the one im watching and yes Zaki is pretty darn good.....but how dangerous has theo become id say hes feared more than ronaldo defenders hate him.....im not saying theo is in the top 3 lol though cause he aint but maybe one day....
yeah ronaldo and rooney have been working great together......both quality players manchester united missed that combo at the start of the season...
ummm any other players worth noting......Geovanni wow he can shoot......and yes Wright-Phillips is back at home and im happy for him!

The guy is good and has bags of potential, but he's been a bit clumsy over the past few months making unnecessary mistakes.
I would put quite a few other defenders ahead of him, but that's another discussion.

Messi is on fire. It seems like they need him in order to win games. I've seen at least two games this year where he was on the bench and they brought him on he gets a goal to win the game.

You would think that because he usually scores 1 goal every couple of weeks or so. 8 goals in 6 games, I can name tones of strikers have achieved more than that. :hello:

we are talking about, at this very moment, who the best players are. as in, in these very seconds, who is providing excellent form for thier teams. for United, it's obviously Rooney; it's not ronaldo or tevez. so it is safe to say that, right now, rooney is better than them both because of the way he is playing and the form he has hit. now over the course of the whole year? probably not. right now, he has a case.

Ribery is a good choice... he's playing at another level right now. Great season for him so far. Prior to this weekend, he had scored in 7 consecutive games. It's nice to see his good form especially after being out for 2 months.
