Match of the week
Wigan 5 - 2 Blackburn
this match was definetly game of the week and wigan have finally got there important win to getting them closer out of relegation.
this match had so much action, a missed penalty by mccarthy, a red card for emerton, and 2 hat-tricks one for santa cruz and another by marcus bent. the last team to have socred a hat-trick and still lost was by dwight yorke in 1998 i think against aston villa.
another great match was the arsenal chelsea game. the last 20 minutes had so many opertunitys for both sides and i was hoping shevchenko would score but wasted a great chance followed by a great save from a powerful freekick. ill look for the highlights on youtube. arsenal were really unlucky not to score more having 2 goals disallowed.
-
I'a actually kinda happy we lost what did Abromavich think that he would get rid of Mourinho and we would all be living in an Avram Grant Lala land, fuck that. My man Mourinho never lost to Arsenal.
Another thing as good of a midfielder Fabregas is he is an asshole always reacting like hes gonna smack someone every time he is touched (little bitches like him get snatched up in the streets). Filthy diving prick. Hleb is was great. Shevchenko despite having a few chances and showing moments of brilliance hasn't impressed me yet hes too slow.
No Essien no Drogba no Terry after a few minutes 1-0 isn't too bad I guess, end of the day its really the managers mistakes that cost us Kalou could have come on much earlier or even Pizzaro. :dontknow:
Chelsea 16 - Arsenal 1
-
Classic Melbourne gotta love him.
I still haven't watched any of the highlights cause I was down in NY.
-
Only saw the last 20 minutes of the Arsenal-Chelsea game. I can't believe I wasn't even aware that the two biggest games of the season were played this weekend. I still think Man U is going to beat Arsenal to the #1 spot. Arsenal is going to hit their slump and some injuries will occur soon enough.
-
If only we didn't lose to Bolton..
Oh well, we'll pull it off for sure at Old Trafford when the Gunners come down.
SOME GOOD INTENSITY:

Henry was the one who was messing that whole arsenal team imo.

Wow, are you kidding me..
Liverpool 3 - 0 Portsmouth
Chelsea 2 - 0 Blackburn
Arsenal 3 - 1 Tottenham
Man Utd 3 - 1 Everton
-
dont forget that pompey are lethal away but there home form is rather poor.
Liverpool 2 - 2 Portsmouth
Chelsea 1 - 0 Blackburn
Arsenal 3 - 2 Tottenham
Man Utd 2 - 1 Everton
for some reason i could imagine united and everton being 0-0. i wonder if santa cruz can make it 6 goals in 3 games.
-
Crouch is a fool for that foul attempt.
Crouch
:stupid:
-
What exactly did he do? Missed it.
-
What exactly did he do? Missed it.
double footer on mikel
-
Should have used his nose instead.
-
heres the highlights, no suprise that lampards goal was a deflection like most of his freekicks and shots.
rumour is that a plane clipped crouch's head and knocked him off balance causing him to do a double footer by mistake on mikel.
-
Damn, how high do these planes have to fly not to hit the lanky guy.
-
Thank you chunkchenko for the highlight I don't have TV at home anymore.
-
Arsenal 2 - 1 Tottenham
I think Tottenham really could have got a break but they missed a penalty and ended up letting Arsenal take the lead..
Beatiful goals, and nice heel kick by Fabregas..
Liverpool 4 - 1 Portsmouth
A couple nice goals by Torres puts Liverpool on top of Portsmouth.
-
Arsenal is starting to piss me off. They really have luck on their side.
Tottenham is shit... I can't believe they outplay so many teams, even the best teams, and still manage to lose somehow. They are playing better under their new manager but they are still letting points slip. This should have been a win for Tottenham had they just done what they should've.
:bang:
-
Karma.
It's so true though, how unlucky can Tottenham get to miss that penalty, and then what, about 10 minutes later Arsenal get a corner and score.. come on..
Arsenal will slip up sooner or later, I hope AC Milan slaughter them.
-
I'm still sticking to my prediction... Man U will eventually win the league. Arsenal will slip for whatever reason with injuries most likely causing the slip up.
-
I think AC Milan will throw them off form, and then they'll come back to the Premier League and lose that game. We should beat them at Old Trafford too.. :)
-

For the level of the two teams, the game wasn't bad. That Konchesky shot. :o

Haha Arsenal haters. I can't belive no one can acknowledge the skill of such a young side, instead they get bashed and called lucky. The oldest player most of the time is 25! (Besides Almunia/Lehman...goalies though..) Give me a freaking break..even if we don't win the league, there is no way you can say this is not an impressive, skillfull team. People have been talking about Arsenal being shitty without Henry and Ljunberg at the begining of the season. Now that they are owning the league, they've switched it to "oh well, sooner or later..blah blah". Van Persie has been out the whole season pretty much, our best striker. Anyone see how effective he was vs Chelsea for what, 13 minutes or so? Promising young players like Bendtner, Diaby, Diarra, Denilson...the list goes ON AND ON. Carling Cup for example...what other Premier League team can field a side of COMPLETE SECOND TEAM PLAYERS and still play dominating, effective, and beautiful soccer.
 Fabregas, the best player in England.

you speak the most sense, we have a great team, wenger always knows how to mould a team together, he is pretty much a genius i think we will go all the way! and karma for you mate.
-
I mean, really, it would be nice to hear people say "Wow, Arsenal is putting up a great fight, with the lead and almost into January. This is going to be a tight race." Instead, all we get is "Oh, they are going to fuck up, just because i don't like them." Or for whatever reason...as a neutral Adi, i would have expected you to applaud the young guns. Dissapointing. Name one team that's one silverware without "luck"..seriously.

Adi's hates United cause of '99. ;)
2-1 United over Everton
Ronaldo with both goals, should help me in fantasy.
Just checked out the highlights. Rooney got a yellow for a dive by the Everton player.
Ronaldo's goal was beatiful, awesome shot.
Giggs and Ronaldo had a beautiful set up but Ronaldo missed by inches. :dontknow:
Ronaldo scored a penalty. :hello:
United win.
@MOBY:
Ronaldo has 11 goals, the most in the Premier League, and our bet was that he'd score 20, still tons of games to play.. I could still win this bet. :)

haha, go manunited :rockit:

Arsenal is playing the best football. I'm not denying it. I just think they will fall off before the season is over. It's just my prediction, that's all.
They have a nice budget which I think they need to use to add a bit of quality depth to their team. It's good that they look to their youth, but you have to add some quality experience just to take the next step over your competition.
The reason I think Arsenal won't win the league is because they have a rather injury prone team. So far nobody has had any real problems but the problems will come if you ask me. I've watched Rosicky, Hleb, Van Persie and a few others play for many seasons now and they pick up pretty serious injuries just about every year. Wenger says he doesn't want to spend money on anyone this winter. If you ask me, that's a bad move. Maybe he's just saying it but who knows.
Either way, I just had a prediction at the beginning of the season that Arsenal won't win and I'm sticking to it. I think Man U will win it in the end, but it won't be easy at all. Arsenal are playing unbelievable right now.

by saying he doesnt want to be anyone shows faith and trust in your team imo, would give me a boost if i was an arsenal player. I can see us going all the way now, top at christmas, it will be tough but i really think we will win.

Fair enough. But knowing Wenger, he doesn't like to buy big. He buys low key (for the most part). I think what we would need if we were to invest in a player would be a central back (Kolo is going to the ACON), and an expirienced midfielder of any sort. I'm actually glad, however, that the title race is not just Man U and Chelsea, as it has been for the past 3 years. Still in it are Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea, and technically Man City and Liverpoool (the latter two will by no means go on to win it). It is just a more interesting scene.
-
Yep good point Elite, and if Arsenal lose one match they are in deep sh*t or even draw ^-^

well obviously, unless you have a huge lead, which rarely happens in the prem then you always have to be on your toes when you are at the top.
-
I kind of like looking up the table and waiting for teams to fuck up.
I miss Mourinho man :'( feels like its never be the same again. I really didn't care when when we lost Gulit, Vialli and even Renyeri but Mourinho was something special man. (no homo)

it IS incredibly disappointing how horridly they played. however..... a win is a win is a win is a win m8 ;)
-
Well! Twice we were inches away from the three points, literally. But, United will move up to the top for now and we settle for a 0-0 with Portsmouth. Nicklas Bendtner looks like Eminem.
-
Good day overall; Chelsea and Arsenal drop points, but it doesn't mean we're Champions yet, knowing Arsenal they'll make a quick recover and be on form again.
Top of the table.
-
And there's goes Man U to the top of the table.
To be honest, I'm a bit disappointing. Thinking about it all, I'd rather have Arsenal win it with their youth and attractive play than Man U. I still think my prediction of Man U winning the league will hold up. I'll be cheering a bit more for Arsenal now though.
-
CL Final 1999..
Haha kidding Adi.
-
Well see, Arsenal is still in the transition of pretty much developing a new squad. From the invincible team, only Lehman and Toure remain. This new team was supposed to struggle to stay top ten, yet they are keeping champions United on thier heels. 2nd place here and there, but most of the season in 1st. Already an accomplished first half of the season. Our best midfielder, if not overall player, is 20 years old and finding his feet. Our strikers are also young, and finding goalscoring form. The next few years should be interesting, in terms of Arsenal and title aspirations.
-
I agree with you, plus with all the money they have just incase they need to splurge it out..
-
i heard the team leading at the end of the christmas period the past three years has won the prem. lets just hope its Arsenal
-
I dont like those kinds of statistics..they are worthless. Remember West Brom a few years back?
-
Arsenal used up all the juice they had against us, they won't be the same for a couple of weeks. :pimp:
-
Up until yesterday, we were the only team that had scored in every premier league game. And we have only lost once. United still tops us, but i don't see any problems with where Arsenal is at. The next 2 games, at Everton and home to West Ham, are crucial to win.
-

Yep elite, they are certainly going to beat west ham, dont know about everton tho they've had nightmares the last time they faced them :-[.
-
In my opinion, Arsenals away form has been poor. This game is going to show how bad they want the title.
-
the arsenal match was awkward to watch reminded me of there CL game against cska moskow. the past 3 years when the top prem team was first before new year wasnt 1 point difference from each other. i can see arsenal and united battling it out to the last game.
-

always great to share the forum with another arsenal supporter. im not worried we still have van persie to come back and the game was very frustrating only in teh final third. first time all season that that has hppenend. i think i heard something bout them having the day off before so that might have been a factor. we have a way harder christmas schedule than any of the other top teams too. so WHEN we get through all this we will be fine.
-
Every time Arsenal v Cska is mentioned you know I have to post this. My god.
:cya:
-
Gallas got worked
-
lovly shit. i just feel sorry for gallas. but thats football
-
He's lucky Lehmann stopped him.. how embarassing.
-
Gallas is a gangster, trust me I would know he was a rock at Chelsea him and Ricardo Carvaliho complimented each other so well along with Terry and Farerra I loved that defense. Props to Gallas for his service, shame he had to go out like a bitch and not be a professional about it.
-
Ashley Cole did the same exact thing. Tough defender for Arsenal, actually i'm glad he left because to be fair, Clichy is just as good if not much better.
-
That boy Clichey talented lad no doubt. I don't pay close attention to him but is it me or dose it seems hes better going forward than he is at the back, personally I don't like that in a fullback.
-
Clichy is a rock back there. I remember him completely shutting Aaron Lennon down, can't really say i remember when he last completely shut another player down. But he isn't so bad at the back. Defensively, Arsenal struggle with set peices more than anything else. Sagna Toure Gallas Clichy: it is a very good defense, and they havn't even had much time playing together.
-
Again I haven't seen that much of him, but hes got pace. Yeah that Arsenal defense has not gelled completely yet. Why doesn't Eboue play as much as he used to this season? Also he picked up injury against Chelsea when he was stretchered off. how bad is it?
-
 Toure
He's the real gangster.
-
Definitely a hammer in defense and what a shot hes got.
-
Eboue now plays wide right. Sagna has done so well at right back, Eboue can now be used offensively. He was always good getting forward, always posses a threat near the box. And if Sagna gets hurt, Eboue can always cover.
-
Lets get some predictions in, shall we:
Birmigham 0 Fulham 1 - Dempsey
Chelsea 1 Newcastle 0 - Shevchenko
Everton 0 Gommers 1 - Hleb
Portsmouth 2 M'Boro 0 - Benjani, Utaka
Sunderland 0 Bolton 2 - Anelka (2)
Tottenham 3 Reading 0 - Berbatov (2), Keane
West Ham 0 ManUtd 1 - Tevez
Wigan 0 Aston Villa 2 - Agbonlahor, Carew
Derby 0 Blackburn 3 - Roque Santa Cruz (3)
Man City 1 Liverpool 2 - Elano, Fernando Torres, Babel
-
if your right with your predictions then i should have a lot of points on the fantasy football team.
birmingham 1 - 2 fulham
Chelsea 4 - 0 Newcastle (there form is so bad and defensivly are really poor)
Everton 0 - 1 Arsenal
Portsmouth 3 - 1 Middlesbrough
Sunderland 1 - 2 Bolton (sunderland will concede an early goal and get a consolation goal)
Tottenham 2 - 0 Reading
West Ham 0 - 1 Manchester United
Wigan 0 - 0 Aston Villa
Derby 2 - 4 Blackburn
Manchester City 2 - 1 Liverpool
-
Every time Arsenal v Cska is mentioned you know I have to post this. My god.
:cya:
Lol, great skill by vagner love :rockit:

Tottenham 6-4 Reading
A lot of goals this season!
Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle Kalou scores the late winner.
WEST HAM 2-1 MANCHESTER UNITED :santa:
Upson, Ferdinand; Ronaldo
Ronaldo missed a penalty that i'm sure Kaka could've made

tottenham have been one of the most entertaining teams so far with all the goals they've produced this season.
why did i have to fucking swap berbatov last week on my fantasy football team  4 goals and when i had him in my team he wasnt scoring much.
lets see what arsenal can do now.
MOTD is gonna be a beast tonight.
-
Tottenham 6-4 Reading
A lot of goals this season!
Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle Kalou scores the late winner.
WEST HAM 2-1 MANCHESTER UNITED :santa:
Upson, Ferdinand; Ronaldo
Ronaldo missed a penalty that i'm sure Kaka could've made
Hahahaha, Good to see United screw up against mediocre teams as usual. I can't remember a few days ago I was telling someone Westham will put up a fight. Wensday mother fuckers should fix my cable and I can watch football again.
-
arsenal are already a goal down, tim nice but dim cahill scored 18th minute.
-

Better then last week, i bet .
-
Bendtner is not up for this game at all. Adebayor needs to come on to pair up with Eduardo. As usual, Arsenal left it late in the half to turn up the heat, and we should see them turn it up higher in the next half. If Ade comes on, it would be great. A point will take Arsenal and Manchester United level throughout the first part of the 07/08 season.
-
EDUARDO! EDUARDO! EDUARDO DA SILVA!
2-1 Arsenal, Eduardo banks two BEAUTIFUL goals. One off of a long ball!? Only the 60th minute, however. Game on.
-
I was hoping you cats would also drop points but looks like the boy Eduardo is baallllliiiiinnn.
Good luck tho I'd rather have you guys keep that top spot warm for us until we come back up, United always leave a bad smell behind. :pimp:
Looks like some of the boo-boys where targeting Grant today its about time. Newcastle are struggling we should have done much better than we did.
-
Ugh, Fucking Bendtner, getting sent off now. He was about to get subbed off, ref wouldn't allow the sub for some reason, and then he gets sent off.
ADEBAYOR JUST SCORED HAHAHAHAHA HOWARD FUCKED IT ALL UP AND ADEBAYOR STOLE IT FROM HIM AND WALKED IT IN.

-
For the record, Tim Howard did not fuck that all up. He fucked about a half of that up.
-
Yobo, whoever it was, they fucked thier team in the ass. Just like Arteta by elbowing Fabregas in the face.
Reminded me of the Jackson tournament..
-
That was blown way out of proportion. The ball hit a divot in the field.
-
I thought that shit was funny, hell, Lester was laughing.
I just heard a guy in the crowd yelling at Clichy, calling him a stupid fucking french prick or something like that.
-
Is Fabregas always involved in some kind of controversy. :dontknow:
-
Always, every day all day baby.
Golaso. 4-1. Rosicky. Whoop that trick, get em!
-
Kolo Toure isn't too far off from controversy either
-
feature=related
Top of the table.
-
4-1 what a turn around, i never realised how much fulham are in the shit second to bottom and only 15 points.
i hope city beat liverpool tomorrow.
-
1-1 with Birgmingham. Boca
That is a deserved second from bottom too. Fulham is terrible. Lawrie Sanchez is fucking stupid.
-
Hey, who cares if they lose? American players are scoring.
-
Roy Hodgson will take over as manager on the 30th. He may be able to turn it around.
-
wheres brian mcbride? is he injured? they need to buy more american players because their the ones who are performing at the moment.
-
He dislocated his kneecap while scoring at the beginning of the year. He's getting way up there in age anyway.
It's a work permit/clout thing.
-
MOTD is gonna be a beast tonight.
Most Definatley. Looking on the thread, nice to see some Arsenal supporters here =D
-
Yet to see the highlights, but from how it sounds, we played like fucking shit. :cursing:
-
sorry for manchester. they played bad. too bad.
-
It's getting intense :boxing:
Arsenal top of the Prem after 2007. And we were supposed to be getting relegated or something without Henry...where is he, like 7 points behind Madrid? :fart: I can't diss my lover though...
-
Yeah Bryan, I have to admit I can see Arsenal winning the league, but not the CL, but you're right, it's going to be intense. Don't forget we still have to face you at home, .. I think that's where Arsenal will slip.
-
Everyone thinks Arsenal will slip in every game now. Manchester United still has to travel to the Bridge, where Chelsea hasn't lost in 3 years. And also you must welcome Liverpool as well as Arsenal to Old Trafford. And you think United can't slip up. It's up in the air, and as I've been saying, predictions are worthless. Teams like Villa, West Ham, Tottenham, and Everton can bite you in the ass.
Arsenal has a real shot at multiple trophies this year, as does United. That's what is keeping it even closer.
-
I didn't say United will slip, nor did I say they wouldn't slip. They slipped today, and they'll slip again. I think United and Arsenal can beat Chelsea and Liverpool like they've done, and I think United will come out with a hard-fought win at Old Trafford against your gunners, but that doesn't mean we'll be first.. the result of that game could also mean we'll be tied for first with you, or 1 point below..
-
united and arsenal better be careful about slipping too much or derby will finish top.
anyone have predictions on who they think will be relegated?
wigan
sunderland
derby
maybe fulham, imagine if bolton goes down the amount of clubs who will try and sign anelka.
a repeat of 2004-2005 when 4 clubs had the chance to stay up and it went down to the last game would be great, but with a more exciting top spot battle.
-
hahahaha derby finish top thats great
im thinking that sunderland will go down fo sho if i had to pick the other two id prob be with you chunk. this has been a great season so far very entertaining and how bot the 6-4 game today? :boxing: :boxing: end to end stuff
-
2 promoted teams get relegated right away? Well that's not bad, shows how tough it is to stay in the EPL.
-
one of wigans mistakes was selling their stars after the first season of staying up and problems with new players settling, i hope reading dont go down the same path. it must feel like shit scoring 4 goals away and still losing never mind once in a season but twice :o
i missed the 2 first goals in the tottenham game but berbatovs gentle tap in on the volley turn was class. newcastle were very unlucky not to have a draw kalou was well offside, and there was a good call for handball. nicky butt almost scored a scorching own goal lol reminded me when the USA scored a own goal top corner job against portugal in the 02 WC.
i have to say United looked poor today they looked confused and so many rubbish first touches and passes into blank spaces cost them top spot.
-
Watched highlights, apparently Wazza didn't play, we'll be back though. :rockit:
Newcastle looked good from what I saw, .. Smudge's hair is just cool.
Need a goalscorer? Get Berbatov, .. that guy is just amazing.
-
reminded me when the USA scored a own goal top corner job against portugal in the 02 WC.

bottom three
18. Wigan
19. Derby
20. Bolton
that would be a dream come true

Derby has four healthy midfielders who have top flight playing time for today's game.

We're only down 2 points, and I see a lot of missed penalties.. funny how everyone points out Ronaldo's miss, and not anyone elses.

3 missed penalties over the weekend.
i missed the highlights of the city liverpool match but saw some of the analysis mainly torres and micah richards getting physical.
Derby will eventually pick up a bit their starting to get more decent results.

Doh, sorry man.

is anyone else concerned for liverpool a draw today want the best result

Lets on be so harsh on the little boy Ronaldo, even I missed a penalty the other day.

-
You could be right about Chelsea; lots of injuries at the moment.
-
Yeah i wish they do too Chuckchenko, Really Liverpool are not playing there best, and If mancity do qualify for the CL that would answer a lottt of sven's critics.
-
Chelsea 2 - 1 Fulham ft.

Man United 1-0 Birmingham
Tevez
Arsenal 2-0 West Ham
Eduardo, Adebayor
Eduardo is starting to catch fire
-
Yeah man, 3 goals in 2 games for eduardo, if he keeps this up he'll be getting the golden boot fo'sho^-^.
-
a decent day for my fantasy football team.
by looking at chelseas late defensive subs it looks like they were under a lot of pressure by fulham. if i remember fulham beat them last season and i thought it would happen today.
-
damn some of those predictions werent that far off. Im happy the Arsenal are top and eduardo is taking off three goals in two games is not bad. any new news on Tevez?
-

i heard tevez likes to suck on small things borg.

i would be surprised
-
Defensively, Arsenal struggle with set peices more than anything else. Sagna Toure Gallas Clichy: it is a very good defense, and they havn't even had much time playing together.
The team is pretty short and not very strong which makes them very vulnerable at set pieces.
Torres is craaaazy! Love it when he takes the ball into the box. He makes those defenders look helpless. I think Benitez needs to unleash his team and let them play more attacking and creative. Liverpool is having a tough time beating these average team and now even the poor teams (Derby). Let your team attack freely and things will work out better. These average teams pack the back and if you don't let your team be a bit more creative they will never break them down. Liverpool's defense is also a concern with their starting two center backs both out. I think Benitez is planning on buying someone this break to fix the issue.
Ronaldo has been great again. Top scorer of the season and he missed quite a few games in the beginning. He's also not even a striker. Credit to him.
-
Yeah, Ronaldo will get the player of the year this year. Even if he doesnt get the golden boot he will. Strikers like Adebayor, Berbatov, Torres, or Even Anelka have a chance to keep scoring and take the golden boot. But Ronaldo will surely win Englands player of the year.
-
Yeah Ronaldo's been good, if you take his statistics and compare them to Messi's.. Messi looks hopeless. Ronaldo has more goals and double the assists, I know Messi is a striker and barely gets assists, .. but still..
-
Seriously, stop with the comparisons. Just get over it, and stop dick riding Ronaldo.
-
Comparisons? I did. I'm just sharing facts, and I'm not dick-riding Ronaldo, .. he's my favourite player, how come everyone always say people are dick-riding Ronaldo and never another player. You could like a player more than I like Ronaldo, and the person liking Ronaldo would still get criticized.
-
Yeah Ronaldo's been good, if you take his statistics and compare them to Messi's.. Messi looks hopeless. Ronaldo has more goals and double the assists, I know Messi is a striker and barely gets assists, .. but still..
This is just a stupid thing to say. Messi looks hopeless?
Best goal of the season, hopeless?
Hattrick vs Real Madrid, hopeless?
20 years old, hopeless?
You are talking out of your asshole.
-
You didn't understand, .. just looking at the facts makes him look hopeless, obviously when you watch him play and look at his stats individually you can obviously see he's an amazing young talent.
-
No, i understand. You are looking at two players statistics, comparing them, and calling one hopeless. Lets look at some stats then:
With Argentina National Team:
FIFA U-20 World Cup: 2005
Copa América 2007 second place
With FC Barcelona:
La Liga: 2004-05, 2005-06
Supercopa de España: 2005, 2006
Personal Honours:
Golden Ball: FIFA U-20 World Cup: 2005
Golden Boot: FIFA U-20 World Cup: 2005
Golden Boy: 2005
Bravo Award: 2007
World Soccer Young Player of the Year: 2006, 2007
Olimpia de Plata: Argentinian Player of the Year: 2005
FIFPro World Young Player of the Year: 2006
FIFPro World XI: 2007
EFE Trophy: Best Ibero-American Player in La Liga: 2007
Best foreign player in La Liga: 2007
Copa America Best Young Player: 2007
France Football Player of the Year:
3rd place: 2007
World Soccer Footballer of the Year:
2nd place: 2007
FIFA World Player of the Year:
2nd place: 2007
SI Latino's 2007 Sportsman of the Year: 2007
Again, he looks pretty damn hopeless. That's some resume for a 20 year old.
-
You still don't understand, I said with Ronaldo's stats he makes Messi look hopeless. Messi is not hopeless though.
-
Haha. Ok. Here is Ronaldo making Messi look hopeless
(http://www.manunitedpies.tv/78515525.jpg)
-
Ronaldo's Career:
243 Apps, 68 Goals, 35 Assists
Find me Messi's career stats and you'll see who has better stats. Honestly, who would you rather pick if you saw these stats on paper. That's what I meant, Ronaldo outshines him on paper, but obviously if you look at Messi's history and honours you'll know Messi is amazing.
-
Ronaldo outshines him on paper
The argument ends here.
-
What?
You're only taking bits of what I'm saying, why don't you see what I'm actually saying.but obviously if you look at Messi's history and honours you'll know Messi is amazing.
-
You are telling me Messi is an amazing player, just like Ronaldo. We can agree there.
Then you are saying something completely worthless, like "Ronaldo is better on paper." Give it a rest, Ronaldo will have a better shot at winning it in 2008.
-
Fine it is worthless, I was just saying my opinion. Fine, let it be worthless. All I said was that Ronaldo had good stats, but Messi had good plays and goals.
-
The game is not played on paper. That's all I am trying to tell you, Borg.
-
Liverpool 1-1 Wigan
Wigans first point from a big 4 team :hello:
Manchester City 2-0 New Castle
-
You're a difficult cookie to beat Bryan. ;)
Wigan has impressed me this year no doubt. Too bad Liverpool couldn't convert their games in hand to full points.
-
Too bad Liverpool couldn't convert the three points? Aren't you a United fan?
-
No I mean that sucks for them. They are 5th, and City is doing pretty good, City may make the CL.
-

I really hope so, Liverpool aint doing their best imo.

hahahahahahhahhahahahahahahhahaha kkkkkkkkkkkkkk hhahhahahahhaahhahahahaaahhahahahahahahah :cya:

And there goes Livepools chances of winning the PL
It's so damn stupid to just try and hold the lead when ur one goal up, finish Wigan properly instead! :cursing:
-
So many fixtures coming up, .. Premier League, FA Cup, Champion's League, .. and a lot has passed over the Christmas period.
Although Arsenal are still in first; over the Christmas period we would have got max points but a sloppy loss costs us the title so far.
United P7 W6 D0 L1 Pts18
Chelsea P7 W5 D1 L1 Pts16
Arsenal P7 W4 D2 L1 Pts14
Liverpool P7 W3 D2 L2 Pts11
Arsenal is a great team obviously, but with a lot of fixtures could this be showing signs of them getting tired? Chelsea surprised me with all their injuries, and Liverpool are going a bit downhill. Props to Arsenal for proving a lot of people wrong. This is why I'm happy we have a huge squad though, so we can rest out other players.
-
Shit, if Arsenal is at 50 points while tired, can't wait until they catch thier breath. Adebayor keeps scoring, Eduardo will start scoring, and Fabregas may be learning how to pass again (past 3 games...not been his day, but the game vs West Ham showed he's on his way back)
4 trophies this year :booty:

Everything is true there except 4 trophies, not the champs league, i think Milan will win due to experience.

They weren't tired all year, just in the Christmas break, and we've already seen Arsenal while they weren't tired and they were pretty damn fine.

Assessment time in Premier League
With the Premier League now through its busy festive period, TEAMtalk's James Marshment hands out his half-term reports on the season so far.
With every side in the Premier League having now reached the 21-game mark - Liverpool and West Ham aside - the table is now beginning to set out its shape for the tales that lie ahead.
Arsene Wenger's Arsenal currently top the class and it's fair to say they have performed far better than expected, given the graduation of last season's star pupil Thierry Henry. But the Frenchman's exit has had the polar opposite effect on the Gunners, with the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and particularly Cesc Fabregas stamping their own identity on the Gunners. Arsenal have been near perfect at the Emirates Stadium thus far, with only Manchester United preventing them from taking maximum points in their 11 home games to date.
But it is the Gunners' new-found steel away from home which will be the most appeasing to Professor Wenger, with their recent 4-1 victory at Everton - a game they so often would have lost in the past - testimony to that.
However, the title this season does look like it will go to the wire with Sir Alex Ferguson's reigning champions Arsenal's most likely challengers. United's home record is almost identical to the Gunners and the Red Devils have amassed 10 straight wins at home following Reading's shock goalless draw on the opening weekend. Most of their success can be attributed to the attacking triumvirate of Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez, though the work of Ferdinand, Vidic and Evra at the back should also not be overlooked given that the Red Devils have conceded just 11 league goals to date.
Chelsea at this stage, however, cannot be ruled out and special praise must be given to the way the club has responded to the departure of the Special One Jose Mourinho and the appointment of Avram Grant. Now if you're talking polar opposites, then these past and present coaches of the Blues are it. But Grant has cajoled a good response from his players, though you cannot help but think the real tests lie ahead. I'll stop short of calling it an injury 'crisis' given the players Chelsea can call upon in reserve, but with the impending African Nations Cup set to rob them of Essien, Drogba, Mikel and Kalou, then it will take one almighty effort to bring a third title in four years to the Bridge.
One team who will go into 2008 looking to improve their marks are Liverpool and their disappointing home form (four wins from 10 home games) could yet result in a new teacher being drafted in. Granted, Mr Benitez is proven in getting the best from his crop when it comes to their field trips abroad, but the Anfield faithful want to see their 18-year wait for a league title come to an end. Sadly for them, it's not going to happen this year, despite the best efforts of Gerrard, Torres and Mascherano.
There's also no guarantees at this stage that they can even finish in the top four, with a host of sides - most notably Manchester City - vying to bully the star pupils from their perch. Sven's City can probably claim the half-term commendation for biggest improver thus far, with Elano and Petrov superb going forward and Dunne and Richards equally impressive at the back.
The likes of Everton, Aston Villa and Portsmouth can also take great pride in their work so far and it'll be interesting to see whom finishes where when the prizes are handed out at the end of term.
The Toffees are marginally the best of the bench so far with midfielders Arteta, Cahill and Pienaar as consistent as anyone this term, while Villa's solid start has been based on the solid work of Mellberg and Laursen at the back, with Young and Agbonlahor offering pace and movement to their attack.
Pompey are probably the biggest over-achievers in the entire top flight, but whilst they have been great on the road, they will need to find a cure to their unexpected home wobbles. But credit where credit is due and Harry Redknapp has assembled a squad deserving of achieving European status next term.
Blackburn are another side performing well on a consistent basis, despite a recent mini-slump, with Roque Santa Cruz looking one of the signings of the season and David Bentley looking every inch capable of filling David Beckham's long-term shoes in the England side. Nestled in just behind them are West Ham and they can take satisfaction with their work so far, particularly in the absence of so many key performers. Their recent home win over Manchester United shows what they are capable of and a season of mid-table mediocity will be pleasing considering their great escape last term.
Moving on to the under-achievers and Newcastle and Spurs have both had their spells in the naughty corner after a series of less-than-convincing displays. Both have been pretty shambolic defensively, but have managers in Sam Allardyce - if he can ride out the current storm - and Juande Ramos who are more than capable of pulling them up by the bootlaces.
Reading defied the doubters by finishing eighth last term and whilst a repeat looks unlikely, they also look easily capable of retaining their place amongst in the elite. Bolton are another side anxiously looking over their shoulder this term but after a shaky start under Sammy Lee, the often-maligned Gary Megson has come in and introduced a brand of football more akin to the days of Allardyce. Much, of course, will depend on Nicolas Anelka's future and Trotters fans will surely not relish reports that Henri Camara has been lined up as the Frenchman's replacement.
New managers have been the order of the day in the Premier League this term, with seven teams so far changing their tactician-in-chief. Whereas Paul Jewell's Derby sadly looked doomed to failure - despite their best efforts - the likes of Roy Hodgson at Fulham, Steve Bruce at Wigan and Alex McLeish at Birmingham will all be hopeful of avoiding the dreaded drop. Much of their season could hinge on what happens in the January transfer window and all three will be looking for that key capture that could make all the difference.
Which brings us finally to Middlesbrough - the only team so far to inflict a defeat upon table-topping Arsenal. Boro have looked decidedly toothless in attack this term - despite the recent best efforts of Tuncay - and they will need to strengthen their attack this month if they want to see an improvement and not slip away into the second tier.
-
the second half of the season this is when the premiership gets fun and stressful for everyone

Wrote some articles for this. Adi will be posting them on beyondfootball.com soon so I want you all to read them. :-*

Big Sam got sacked at Newcastle. Only 8 months on the job... poor fella.
Who's next? They should get Shearer in there. See if he can do something.
-
Whoever it is, is going to be tested early.
We're facing Newcastle this Saturday..
-
he should have just stuck with bolton. so much money spent of players during a season and a new manager. im not sure what will help newcastle do well. kevin keegan was most probably there best manager ever.
what are the next fixtures this weekend?
-
Arsenal v Birmingham
Aston Villa v Reading
Derby v Wigan
Middlesbrough v Liverpool
Everton v Manchester City
Chelsea v Tottenham
West Ham v Fulham
Man Utd v Newcastle
Sunderland v Portsmouth
Bolton v Blackburn
-
Chelsea - Tottenham will be a good one and so will the Man U - Newcastle game.
-
any arsenal game is a good one as well. Savage to Derby. L. Diarra wants out at arsenal. oh snap that should be in the transfer thread.
-
Arsenal should pick up another 3 points. Hopefully Newcastle can get thier game straight real quick and pull a fast one on United. Doubt it.
-
Big Sam got sacked at Newcastle. Only 8 months on the job... poor fella.
Who's next? They should get Shearer in there. See if he can do something.
i think shearer is not Coach material but you never know this might be a morale problem that Newcastle are suffering in that case Shearer would be do okay
-
They should get Shearer in there. See if he can do something.
i dont think sheare knows anything about coaching.
did roy kean go through that coaching courses before he became coach of suntherland
-
Allerdyce should have never left Bolton the 2 where made for each other. Newcastle will never find a permanent coach just because they get big crowds at St James they think they are a top 4 team. Any manager who slips up a bit is sacked. The fans aren't helping either they are like blood thirsty mob booing and calling for the coach to be sacked after a few bad game, but when he wins they chant his name the next week. It takes any coach some time with the team to start preforming at his best. Managers need to be given time look at David Moyes at Everton they hang on to him even through the taught time hes bought in his players over the years and introduced his system now they are top 6 regulars every season.
-
Shearer might be a good assistant coach... someone the team can use to motivate the players and get them going.
Newcastle has already excluded Shearer from the job though.
-
motivate players? i dont think shearer can motivate my ass into moving.
-
Arsenal v Birmingham

Barclays Premier League Weekend Preview: Round 22
Saturday 12 January
Arsenal v Birmingham City
Arsene Wenger’s young guns displayed a professional performance at Burnley last week, to knock the Championship side out of the FA Cup. Another midweek cup tie saw the Gunners rescue a point against North London rivals Tottenham, in an exciting Carling Cup first leg fixture. The Emirates boss will now have his eyes firmly set on the Premiership again, where Arsenal have been top for most of the season. The Gunners have shown fluency, confidence and wonderful creativity throughout the season leaving all fans astounded by their achievements. Their home record is also fantastic and despite losing some key defenders to the African Cup of Nations, Wenger should be confident his side can maintain this current form.
Sixteenth placed Birmingham City travel to the Emirates, hoping to cause a real upset. Alex McLeish’s side are hovering above the relegation places, with only two points separating them from the drop zone. Their last Premiership performance against Manchester United was reasonable, the result ending in a low 1-0 win for the Premiership Champions. But defeat in the FA Cup last weekend will definitely have dampened hopes in the camp. Still, both the players and manager will know the importance of the league this season and I expect Birmingham to avoid relegation. But anything from this game will be a bonus.
Arsenal unexpectedly lost to Middlesbrough a while back, but it doesn’t seem like Birmingham will cause a shock. Alex McLeish has brought some confidence back to the side but in realistic terms Birmingham are a side struggling in the bottom half of the table and should be no real competition for Arsenal.
Prediction: 2-0
Aston Villa v Reading
Martin O Neill’s Villa side lost late on against Manchester United in the FA Cup last weekend. They showed great stability and played some good football at times. For most of the game, they seemed capable of managing against the big teams. However, they hardly took any shots, which is quite surprising for a team consisting of striking talent such as Agbonlahor, Young and Carew. Villa will have to show more hunger and determination in the following weeks of the League, especially if they are to rise from their current seventh place. Villa are defensively sound and a well organised team so have a realistic chance of breaking into the top six.
Reading have enjoyed some good Premiership form over the last couple of months, spurred on from that memorable victory over Liverpool. A recent 2-2 draw in the FA Cup against resurgent Tottenham shows that the Royals really are capable of doing well this season. They are by no means goal-shy and goalscoring hasn’t been their problem this season. It has been more a defensive problem, which is keeping Reading rooted to the bottom half of the table. They are currently seven points adrift of tenth spot so it is unlikely they will shoot into the top ten soon. But if they can stop leaking goals and continue scoring, the future looks bright for Coppell’s side.
Aston Villa want to play European football next season and they are only a whisker away from sixth spot at the moment. Villa will be hungry to prove they are one of the best sides in the country and O’Neill’s side will want to bounce back from last weekend's FA cup defeat. Nevertheless, Reading also want to break into the top ten and the Royals have recently been able to get back into games with their wonderful attacking moments. The game should be exciting, but I expect Villa to stay very tight at the back.
Prediction: 2-1
Derby County v Wigan Athletic
Bottom side Derby have been very busy during the transfer window, showing their intention to stay up this season. Robbie Savage in particular will add some inspiration to the lacklustre midfield, so Derby should be a better outfit overall and could make a real fight for it until the end of the season. Paul Jewell’s arrival has seen the League’s worst side become more resilient, conceding fewer goals and putting in some wonderful performances. Though the Rams were unlucky against teams like Liverpool, they can now begin to take heart and pride from their performances. The question is, have they left it too late?
Wigan are currently out of the relegation zone, albeit by four miserly goals. The Latics have had an on-off season, playing well some weeks and terribly in others. New manager Steve Bruce seems to be having a positive effect on the side and a whopping 3-0 FA Cup victory over strugglers Sunderland shows that the club are moving in the right direction. Three or four wins in the Premiership over the course of two months should see them stay out of the drop zone. But I think the club need to strengthen their squad during the current transfer window.
Derby are trying to reassemble their squad and it will take time for the new lads to get used to each other. Wigan on the other hand go into the game on the back of an impressive 3-0 cup win over rivals Sunderland. I think Wigan’s confidence after that game will see them through against Derby.
Prediction: 0-2
Everton v Manchester City
Everton have had a bad week, having been embarrassed by Oldham in the FA Cup and losing 2-1 to Chelsea in the Carling Cup semi-final first leg. And it won’t get any easier for the Toffees. They have lost some key players in Yobo, Pienaar and Yakubu to the African Cup of Nations. The latter in particular will be a bad loss for the Merseyside club, as Yakubu has been in hot form recently. Where will the goals come from now? But Everton should be able to deal with this crisis. When the strikers were struggling for goals at the beginning of the season, the talented midfielders were able to chip in with the goals. If all goes well this weekend, Everton could end up fourth come Monday morning. But they will have to beat Man City in order to do that.
High-flying City broke into the top four once again, due to Liverpool slipping up in the last league game. Sven’s men have been sensational this season, causing shocks everywhere. And they look unstoppable. The Manchester side are almost certainly setting their sights on adding to the squad which can only make them better. The whole team has been brilliant this season and it looks impossible for City to now finish below sixth.
It is about time Manchester City lost a game and I think it could have happened here-if Everton had their full-strength squad available. But without Yakubu the Toffees look less of a force. On the other hand, City are fabulous going forward, with Martin Petrov shining in recent performances. Both sides have a good chance of winning, but I think the game will end in a draw.
Prediction: 1-1
Middlesbrough v Liverpool
With twenty points to their name this campaign, Middlesbrough are dangerously close to the drop zone. But with Brazilian striker Alves set to join the side, things seem to look brighter for Boro. After selling Yakubu and Viduka in the summer, Boro have struggled to find goals this season. Mido hasn’t really come good but has been sidelined through injury for months, but Tuncay Sanli has recently been important for the side. With Alves, Boro would be more threatening and have that cutting edge to their side. If the Brazilian does join, Boro should be safe from relegation.
Liverpool’s FA Cup draw against Luton at the weekend ensured the Reds will have to try again to beat the team they so memorably defeated 5-3 en route to winning the trophy a couple of years back. Should the Reds triumph at Anfield, they could be facing non-leaguers Havant & Waterlooville in the next round. It would be interesting who Benitez would play should that be the case! With speculation about Benitez’s future again dominating the headlines this week, it may not have been noticed the Reds have signed 23 year old centre-back Skrtel, who could make his debut against Boro. On the field, Liverpool’s last league draw against Wigan all but left them out of contention for the title and they must now concentrate on finishing in the top-four, with Man City currently possessing that last Champions League spot.
Liverpool should be stronger than Boro and it is against teams like this that the Reds seem to be most comfortable. Liverpool have a very good team and I can’t really see where the problem lies in the team. However, I’m sure purchasing a world-class winger would help the Reds going forward. Apart from beating Arsenal earlier this campaign, Boro haven’t done anything special so I don’t expect a shock this time.
Prediction: 0-3
West Ham United v Fulham
West Ham managed to get a replay against high-flying City, after a 0-0 draw during the FA Cup tie. The Hammers have been quite impressive this season, managing to uphold their good performances despite injuries. The side can’t be expected to finish in the top six this season due to the quality of the teams currently above them; nevertheless I wouldn’t put it beyond them. Alan Curbishley has done a good job at the club and a few transfers this January could see them go a long way.
Struggling Fulham recently appointed a new manager to try and turn their fortunes around. But the board will probably also have to spend heaps of money on signings during the current transfer window if they are to patch up their below-par squad. Fulham’s second half performances this season have been incredibly terrible and if such movement continues for the rest of the season they will certainly go down. They are definitely in trouble, with low confidence and lack of results also a problem for the club. The Cottagers will have to turn things around and quickly if they are to stay up.
I can see this game ending in a stalemate. West Ham have been fairly good over the season but they have also been inconsistent. Fulham will be looking to climb out of the drop zone as soon as possible and it is these games where three points would help them a lot.
Prediction: 1-1
Manchester United v Newcastle United
A defeat to West Ham in the festive period has been quickly forgotten by United, having beaten Birmingham in their last league game and then defeating Aston Villa in the FA Cup. Alex Ferguson’s side are only two points behind leaders Arsenal and cannot afford (m)any slip-ups for the rest of the season if they are to win the title for the second season running. The Red Devils definitely have the players to win the league. They have matchwinners in Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo, Nani and many others and I expect this quality to tell come the end of the season. But the game against Newcastle could be a potential banana skin for the title-contenders.
Managerless Newcastle travel to Old Trafford in a state of shock after Sam Allardyce’s sudden departure. The boss simply didn’t have enough time to show his quality as a manager and in the end he paid the price for some rubbish performances. The search is now on for yet another manager. As for the players, they will know they haven’t given 100% for the club so far and they will have to pull their socks up, because a new manager will surely want to get rid of some lazy Newcastle players. The club is in turmoil at the moment, despite being in a respectable eleventh position in the league.
Man Utd should take full advantage of their opponents’ problems in this game. The Red Devils are by all means the better side and should beat Newcastle. But some Magpies players may be trying to impress the future coach.
Prediction: 3-0
Sunday 13 January
Sunderland v Portsmouth
Roy Keane’s Sunderland side are languishing in the relegation zone but only on goal difference. The Black Cats have spent over forty million on players this season and will add to their squad during January. However, this investment has to prove worthwhile and Sunderland will need to stay in the league. They haven’t been as bad as other teams this season and have shown some great spirit in many games, but some results have also harshly gone against them. Nevertheless, Sunderland have enough time and quality to save themselves.
Eighth-placed Portsmouth could find the next month the most difficult of the campaign as they are missing several players who have gone to the African Cup of Nations. Harry Redknapp’s side have done well so far this season and aren’t far off the much coveted sixth spot but will have to maintain their form for the rest of the season to achieve this goal. It seems unlikely Portsmouth will be as threatening without some key squad members and we will have to see how they play against Sunderland to get any indication of whether player-shortage is affecting them.
Portsmouth are without quite a few players so won’t have their strongest team out. Sunderland could use this to their advantage and I expect them to cause a shock here.
Prediction: 2-1
Sunday 13 January
Bolton Wanderers v Blackburn Rovers
Speculation regarding star-striker Nicolas Anelka dominated the newspaper headlines this week and this won’t be healthy for the Bolton team. Now the striker has sealed his move to Chelsea, there could be some adverse reaction to his departure as he was the side's star player throughout the first half of the campaign. Leaving aside the Anelka factor, Bolton have recently done well in the League and have climbed out of the relegation zone. But without Anelka you can’t really see them staying in the Premiership unless they make some shrewd purchases that make an immediate impact.
Championship side Coventry humiliated mighty Blackburn Rovers last weekend as they were thumped 4-1 in the FA Cup tie. The result will have infuriated Mark Hughes as his side have no realistic chance of winning any silverware this season. Confidence may also be low amongst the squad after that crushing defeat. But Blackburn have recently got back on track in the league as they chase a top six spot for the remainder of the season. The loss of Robbie Savage to Derby could also be a problem, with aged midfielder Tugay and recovering Reid their only decent options in central midfield now. Rovers may look to add to the squad during January.
Blackburn have been better than Bolton this season and I think Rovers should win this local derby. It will be a tight, frustrating game but I expect Blackburn to nick a win!
Prediction: 1-2
Monday 14 January
Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur
Chelsea’s late win over Everton in the Carling Cup tie in midweek showed the damaging force of the Blues. Their title credentials will now be thoroughly tested over the next month as they play without some of their key African players. Avram Grant is trying to sign some new players to deputise for absentees, and has succeeded in bringing in Nicolas Anelka. But surely they will need to sign players other than him. The midfield will be severely weakened and with vital players missing through injuries, Chelsea could struggle this month.
Spurs showed great determination, spirit and force in their 1-1 midweek cup draw against bitter rivals Arsenal. The team are clearly on their way up and Juande Ramos is performing miracles at White Hart Lane. The whole squad is now ‘clicking’ and I think Spurs could possibly challenge for a top six spot this season. They will need to continue their recent good form but they have the talent and quality to do it. But Dimitar Berbatov will have to stay if they are to achieve this unlikely feat.
I think there could be another shock on the cards here, but Chelsea have an outstanding home record which will impede Spurs, who have been loking good recently and are returning to their best. Chelsea though have vital players missing and could struggle to find fluency in this game. I predict a draw, but Tottenham do have enough to win it.
Prediction: 1-1

We better bring back those 4-0 wins.
Did you see Walcott earlier? He ran right through Birmingham..

I'm liking SWP he is begging to show some good form and he's scoring now. I prefer him in the middle, on the wings he was doing everything right but when it came to finishing he was awful. Anyway last I seen it Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham.

Liverpool tied Middlesbrough 1-1.
What is wrong with them?
-
Lol at my friend he was betting on all the weeks games and because of that result hes gonna miss out on $320, but he did only pay $3.

Only 25 minutes in and Ronaldo has tried on 3 different pairs of boots in the game.
0-0

Walcott played like complete shit. Senderos was great.

Yeah man, shave your head. :boxing:

He has 16. Adebayor has 13.

Thanks. That sucks for the new Newcastle coach. That was his first game on the job.

Bolton Wanderers 1 - 2 Blackburn Rovers
Kevin Nolan 43rd Minute
Christopher Samba 53rd Minute
Jason Roberts 90th Minute
Sunderland 2 - 0 Portsmouth
Kieran Richardson 33rd Minute
Kieran Richardson 44th Minute
The perfect chance for Portsmouth to join in the 4 team battle for the 4th spot but was wasted i dont know whats happened to there recent form its terrible. Sunderland, Birmingham, Wigan and Bolton all on 20 points but Sunderland are in relegation by goal difference and Middlesbrough and Reading are only 1 and 2 points a head. this season is looking out to be one of the bests yet 3 teams battling for first europe spots are looking tight and the relegation section makes watching the poorer teams worth watching.
it will be a huge mistake for Mark Hughes to go to Newcatsle who are 11th with only 26 points while Blackburn Rovers are 8th with 36 points.
-
The Blackburn game was really intense; Roberts came on and had an instant impact, and hustled hard to score the injury time winner. GOLASO
-
Benitez should start looking for a new club. That team needs new blood and a good new coach would be just that.
-
kevin nolans goal was a beast definetly goal of the month.

that should've been worth 3 :dontknow:

his goal was incredibly nice.

Benitez should start looking for a new club. That team needs new blood and a good new coach would be just that.
i thin it would be a mistake to get rid of benetez. he is a good manager and has taken that team to the CL final two of the last three years. he as also won a FA cup with them the only weakness he has is in the prem. the premiership is becoming rediculous with sacking managers.

not as rediculous as the amount of billionairs who bought the prem clubs over the past few season.
sacking sam allerdyce was so unncesary i hope keegan fails too because the fans are just cocks and have no respect towards the players.

Saturday 19 January
Birmingham City v Chelsea
After holding Arsenal last weekend, Birmingham should go into this game brimming with confidence. Alex McLeish has solidified the squad and they look full of belief. The Blues boss is trying exceptionally hard to bring in some more players during the transfer window, the most prolific being McFadden from Everton. The Toffees have now accepted a bid of around 5.5 million pounds for the sensational Scot. But Birmingham are level on points with eighteenth placed Sunderland and McLeish’s side know they are only out of the bottom three thanks to goal difference. So it is vitally important Birmingham keep up their decent recent performances and get a few wins under their belts soon. Having McFadden should help.
Chelsea are now only four points behind leaders Manchester United in the league and Avram Grant has every intention of closing that gap even further. The Israeli has brought in Nicolas Anelka and defender Ivanovic within the space of a week, outlining his objectives for an ever-growing squad. Chelsea have been weakened by the loss of players to the African Cup of Nations, but their recent performances certainly aren’t showing these problems. Five wins in a row in all competitions sees Chelsea in one of their best runs of the current season and one can only imagine how good they could be if John Terry and Frank Lampard weren’t injured. Chelsea must continue their recent form as they look set to push table-toppers Manchester United to the limit.
If Chelsea hadn’t signed Anelka last week, then this game could well have ended in a stalemate. After all, Birmingham did hold Arsenal last time out and they are a half decent side, willing to give all just to stay in the league. Chelsea on the other hand must continue their impressive run of form to maintain the pressure on United and Arsenal. I think Chelsea should grab the win, though Birmingham will try their best to hold the Londoners.
Prediction: 0-2
Blackburn Rovers v Middlesbrough
Blackburn's recent resurgence in form has seen the side edge closer to the much-coveted fourth spot. Rovers are only three points behind the last Champions League spot now, as Hughes’ side look forward to a successful second half of the season. December’s player of the month Roque Santa Cruz has been in sparkling form over the festive period and will look to continue his impressive goal-scoring streak here. Blackburn fans and players will be delighted at Kevin Keegan’s managerial appointment at Newcastle, seeing as Mark Hughes is now safely secure at the club now, at least until the next vacancy! Rovers need to sign a central-midfielder during January after the departure of Robbie Savage to Derby, but until then Tugay and Stephen Reid look capable of doing well in the middle of the park.
Fourteenth placed Middlesbrough are another side exceptionally close to the drop zone, as Southgate’s side hover only a point above the relegation spots. But recent performances have shown terrific organisation from Boro, especially after they held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw last time out. But a big criticism of the side is their inconsistency, which has seen them do well against the ‘big’ teams, but struggle against the easier sides. Southgate’s men must treat every game with respect and make sure they get a win and move on. As for transfers, it seems like Afonso Alves won’t be moving to Teeside after all, after a mix-up in the situation. Therefore, Boro must set their sights on another striker.
As always, Blackburn are quite solid in front of their home fans and they will make this game tough for Boro. Rovers have some beautifully placed wingers, top-class strikers and a tight defence. If Boro play like they did against Liverpool, they could win this game. However they have proved difficult to predict this season, so I tip Blackburn for the slender win.
Prediction: 1-0
Fulham v Arsenal
Five points from safety, it isn’t comfortable at all for Fulham and new boss Roy Hodgson. The manager has seen the quality of his side over the last couple of weeks and knows there are some good players in his squad. However, I’m sure many will have pointed out the ‘bad apples’ in his side, as he looks to transform the club into an attractive prospect. He has a big job on his hands and it is vital that new players are signed soon in order to help the club survive. Their previous game saw the Cottagers lose 2-1 against West Ham, with yet another away defeat.
Arsenal slipped up against Birmingham and they now lie second in the table behind Manchester United. The Gunners were considerably weakened thanks to the loss of a few defenders to the African Cup of Nations. But that was always going to be the problem for the side and they will now have to adapt to life without these key men, at least for the next month. Wenger doesn’t look like he will spend money during the transfer window and who can blame him? His side are still well and truly in the running for the title and events over the last month have shown some exciting twists and turns at the top.
For Fulham, it will just be a bonus game and they will look to keep the score low. Arsenal will want to bounce back from last weekend's draw, therefore I think they will win this game comfortably.
Prediction: 0-2
Portsmouth v Derby County
Portsmouth’s recent slip in form has been predictable, especially after the club lost many players to the African Cup of Nations and the ongoing saga of Harry Redknapp’s future. The side are losing their way in their quest to finish in a European spot come the end of the season and Redknapp will have to replace his African players as soon as possible if his side are to maintain their current good league position. I don’t think Pompey will be that frightened of Derby County, nevertheless they shouldn’t be too complacent.
Derby will go into this game with the same mentality as they have had over the last couple of months. The players are giving it a real go and deserve a win in the near future, just to help their confidence. Derby are also signing players from everywhere, with the likes of Laurent Robert and Robbie Savage joining the club over the last couple of weeks. But Derby will have to win a game as soon as possible if they are to stand any chance of cutting down the thirteen point gap which would see them edge into safety.
This is a chance for Portsmouth to get back on track and produce a good, morale-boosting win. Derby will be gunning to do the same and it is about time they found a victory too, nevertheless, despite missing key players, I think Portsmouth should be able to scrape a win.
Prediction: 1-0
Reading v Manchester United
Steve Coppell’s Reading side go into this game without a win in six. The Royals' FA Cup Third Round Replay against Tottenham ended in a 1-0 defeat, sending the side crashing out of the competition. And a 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa prior to that effectively brought Reading back into the relegation mix in the bottom half of the league. Despite holding a seemingly comfortable thirteenth position in the Premiership, Reading are only two points above the drop zone. The side will need to start playing some good football again, as they did against Liverpool a couple of months ago. Reading have been like Middlesbrough in terms of consistency this campaign and it is almost impossible to predict how they will play.
Manchester United are enjoying life at the top of the Premiership, albeit on goal difference. But it now looks as if Sir Alex Ferguson’s side will stay at the top for a while now. United have an exceptional squad full of some of the most talented players in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo showed his excellence by scoring a hat-trick last time out and he is key to some of the Red Devils' main movements. Though there will still be some twists and turns at the top end of the table for the remainder of the season, United do have enough in their side to win the league once again.
This is a chance for Manchester United to consolidate their position at the top of the table, though for Reading it is a chance to cause yet another shock against another one of the ‘top four’. But it doesn’t seem as if United will slip up here.
Prediction: 0-2
Tottenham Hotspur v Sunderland
In-form Tottenham have improved by leaps and bounds under Juande Ramos and are now pushing for a top-ten finish come the end of the season. A 1-0 win over Reading saw Spurs reach the fourth round of the FA Cup where they will now face Manchester United. Ramos has chopped and changed his front players many a time since his arrival and this effective rotation is paying dividends for the side. The team are also very confident on the ball and look like their old selves. But there is still some improvement needed and some strengthening of the squad yet to do before they can realistically challenge for a top six spot again. But they are definitely moving in the right direction.
Had it not been for goal difference, Sunderland would be clear of danger at this stage of the season. However, due to early season defensive problems, the Black Cats occupy eighteenth spot. But Keane’s side haven’t been all bad recently, managing two wins in their last three Premiership games. Kieran Richardson has clearly been the shining star over Sunderland’s recently improved performances and has netted a few times to help his side out. The former Manchester United starlet looks well suited to Sunderland’s attitude of play and he will do well for them for the remainder of the season. With Richardson and the intelligence of Jones up front, Sunderland look more than capable of staying up. They are clearly able to win games as they have shown over the last month and I think it is only time before they starting pushing up the table.
Both sides spent heavily in the Summer, both sides started the campaign fairly badly but both sides are finally beginning to improve. It is more important for Sunderland to win this game, so that they can slide out of the relegation zone, however Spurs will also want to move far ahead of other relegation contenders. It is all set up for an exciting game and I think this game will end in a draw.
Prediction: 1-1
Newcastle United v Bolton Wanderers
With Harry Redknapp, Mark Hughes and Gerard Houllier all tipped to become Newcastle’s new manager, it came as a surprise and shock to many when the board appointed Kevin Keegan as their manager. The ‘legend’ returned for yet another spell at the club as he hopes to bring the Magpies some much-yearned-for success. Can he succeed? Will he appoint Shearer as his number two? These are a few questions that will be answered over the coming weeks, but for now let’s just hope Michael Owen and Kevin Keegan can get over their past troubles!
Bolton are another side on only twenty points this season, so they are also dangerously flirting with the relegation spots. With only one win in five, the side’s recent results haven’t been very good at all. But their style of football is still reasonably capable of keeping them in this league. The defeat to Blackburn last time out saw Bolton outplayed at times and no doubt they will face this prospect many a time for the remainder of the season, however they will have to improve their attacking options if they are to stand any chance of staying up this season. The Trotters are certainly not as sharp without Nicolas Anelka.
Newcastle’s resounding win over Stoke in the FA Cup as well as the appointment of Kevin Keegan as boss has brought an air of confidence and delight back around the city. It will take some time for Keegan to impose his managerial style on the squad, therefore I don’t think they will show great improvement very quickly, however expect each player to put in a good performance, just to show the new man what they are capable of.
Prediction: 2-2
Sunday 20 January
Wigan Athletic v Everton
Steve Bruce’s troubled Wigan side face in-form Everton this weekend, with the Latics hoping to find a win and move away from danger. Wigan have had some good patches of form this campaign but at other times they have been simply awful. This has lead to their lingering around the bottom three for most of the season. Steve Bruce hasn’t made much of a difference to the club, however he is trying to instill some confidence into his side, as well as that battling spirit, which saw him do well with Birmingham. Wigan may have to plunge into the transfer market if they are to survive; especially after most of their relegation contenders are spending money signing new talent.
Everton look to keep up the pressure on Merseyside rivals Liverpool, as both sides once again contend for the coveted fourth Champions League spot. Everton are currently fifth in the league and are playing some very good football indeed. They have lost some players to the African Cup of Nations, the most notable being Yakubu. The striker was doing exceptionally well for the Toffees before his departure, so Everton’s main problem will be scoring goals. But they have a midfield perfectly capable of chipping in with the goals, with the likes of Cahill, Osman and Arteta all making up an attacking proposition.
I think Everton will edge this game. They have a talented squad and a very offensive game plan. Wigan will give it their best shot, but Everton tend to do very well against teams of Wigan’s calibre.
Prediction: 0-1
Manchester City v West Ham United
Wednesday’s FA Cup replay saw these sides square up to each other before this important league game. That replay saw Manchester City victorious, thanks to an Elano header, earning them a 1-0 win. But West Ham seemed to match City for most of the game and they will feel hard done by after such a decent display. But the Hammers have a chance to make amends as they face City for the second time in five days.
Manchester City’s super trio of Elano, Petrov and Bianchi are doing some real damage to the opposition every time they go forward. Petrov is playing particularly well, as he consistently puts brilliant balls into the box and his teasing runs trick defenders. But when Petrov is not in sight, star-man Elano threatens to carve out an inch-perfect pass from the central area of the field, which ends up at the feet of Bianchi, who isn’t in the best goal-scoring form at the minute, but his intelligent play is clearly helping the City side win games. Sven has got the perfect blend of awareness, creativity and flair in his squad and I think they will finish in the top six.
West Ham have been brilliant this season as they look to finish in the top ten come the end of this campaign. Dean Ashton is notably their star-man, the striker causing all sorts of problems in and around the penalty area. However, without Bellamy, West Ham lose some attacking potential in their squad. But their performance against City on Wednesday showed they are courageous and can create chances when going forward, so they are more than capable of upsetting City.
This game will be exactly like the one on Wednesday, but I think this time it will end in a draw. West Ham showed enough that night to prove they can give City a game and this game should be more exciting than Wednesday’s.
Prediction: 1-1
Monday 21 January
Liverpool v Aston Villa
Liverpool are in a crisis at the moment, with all sorts of problems off the field. With the two American owners publicly admitting holding talks with Jurgen Klinsmann over possibly taking the reins at Anfield, many fans have simply turned their backs on the owners. Fans would rather Benitez stayed than his employers! And that looks likely now, after the financial problems which are stopping the club moving forward with new stadium plans. DIC, the Dubai company are now expected to make a bid for Tom Hicks’ share in the club, much to the delight of Liverpool fans around the globe. After all, why don’t the owners just let Benitez do his job rather than hint at his departure every other day? Back on the field, Liverpool’s win over Luton in the FA Cup replay has earned them a decent tie against non-league Havant & Waterlooville. It will be interesting to see how Benitez approaches that game!
Aston Villa are another side trying to take fourth spot in the league and they are currently very close behind their hosts, Liverpool. Martin O’Neill has built an experienced, quick and young team full of talented players. The side played out an entertaining 4-4 draw with Chelsea around a month ago and though this game probably won’t end like that, it just shows Villa’s attacking options and ability going forward. One thing is for sure - Aston Villa will give Liverpool an incredibly tough game.
Liverpool have the better squad and with Steven Gerrard in top-form, it seems as if the Reds are favourites to win this game. It was Gerrard’s late free-kick which got Liverpool all three points on the opening day of the season and I expect a similar result here.
Prediction: 2-1

Well I don't know, .. true I guess. But Tottenham are a goal scoring machine at the moment.
-
Updates from games I'm watching
1-0 United; 2nd Half
2-0 Arsenal; 2nd Half
We need to convert more chances, and our back four need to step it up a notch like last week! Rooney's "finishing touch" was awesome.

3-0 Arsenal
2-0 United

Ronaldo leading with goals but Adebayor real tight on his ass.

Munich Tribute
(http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/6348/7xw4xasnp3.th.jpg) (http://img147.imageshack.us/my.php?image=7xw4xasnp3.jpg)
Lots of petitions going around to take the AIG logo off..
EDIT: Better photo: http://aycu01.webshots.com/image/42960/2002444980550253504_rs.jpg
MANCHESTER United fans say the club has not gone far enough in its efforts to patch-up a huge Busby Babes tribute banner after getting the words wrong.
They lashed out at the club after it left the word `Busby' out of the enormous tribute, which features the words to the United calypso terrace chant and covers the front of Old Trafford's East Stand.
Supporters also put pressure on bosses to remove club sponsors AIG's logo from the banner - but despite complaints that it was `vulgar', it is on the replacement banner put up yesterday.
The words blunder was spotted by fans at weekend. The huge tribute, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster, features a picture of the Babes' final line-up against Red Star Belgrade, along with the words to the calypso chant.
Bosses ordered part of the tribute to be taken down and corrected after fans pointed out that the wording read `bouncing Babes' instead of `bouncing Busby Babes'. They dismissed complaints about the banner's logo for AIG - the US insurance company which sponsors the club in a £56m deal. But workmen said the logo is on a separate piece to the rest in case it has to come down due to a further backlash.
The club was not available for comment.

Adebayor is tank.
Ronaldo leading with goals but Adebayor real tight on his ass.
If Ronaldo keeps on scoring as he has been, It won't be close. Ronaldo has something like 23 in 25 in all competitions. Adebayor has like 16 in 25 in all competitions.
-
In the league, Ade has 16 and Ronaldo has 17. It is just as close as the actual title race, and plus, it is Cristiano Ronaldo, can't expect anything less from him.
-
Yeah Ronaldo's doing very well especially after a bad start, (red card).. 5 goals in 5 games in the Champion's League.
-
Ronaldo is un-fucking-believable AGAIN! I know Kaka is a beast but you can't ignore the fact that Ronaldo might be better now than Kaka. I don't know about pure skill, but Ronaldo's form has been superb. Kaka is still good but look at the way his team is performing. I know you can't blame him for all of it but he is a key player for the team. Only reason I'm brining this up is because people were clearly favoring Kaka before. I don't think that can be done anymore after watching Ronaldo dominate last season as well as this one.
-
Haha finally.
-
Arsenal 3-0 Newcastle,. 81st minute..
Adebayor, Flamini, Fabregas
-
They play today? Any other games?
-
Duh, you don't pay attention do you?
Also Tuesday, it was: Bolton 0, Fulham 0; Middlesbrough 1, Wigan 0; and Sunderland 2, Birmingham 0.
Adebayor with another headed goal. This puts him level with C Ronaldo, at 17 a peice in England. United plays Portsmouth tomorrow.
-
Well ofcourse I know when United play. ;)
Thanks for the updates mate.
-
Anelka scored in the FA Cup and got an assist as well. I wonder how well he'll play for Chelsea. It seems like Chelsea is the perfect fit for him. When Drogba gets back though, it's going to be interesting. They should play both of them together even though they are very similar.
-
I'm dying to see that combination.
-
Ronaldo 10'
He takes over the goalscoring lead.. ;)
Ronaldo 12'
Holy shit what a free-kick, one of his best!
2-0 United at the moment.
2-0 United Halftime;
1-0 Chelsea 2nd Half.
-
Ronaldo is fucking unstoppable!
Liverpool lost away to West Ham.
-
Yeah, really entertaining game to watch, Ronaldo was brilliant, Rooney was having a laugh with Sol Campbell and James, Scholesy was great, and Evra did really well to create chances for himself.
Very good ball control from us today which provided lots of chances. :)
-
Hate to admit it but Ronaldo is on fire for united, something like 27 goals in 21 for a winger,
class act :bowdown:
-
He's not a winger, 2 assists?
-
Hate to admit it but Ronaldo is on fire for united, something like 26 goals in 21 for a winger,
class act :bowdown:
got to agree but i still hate him
-
Why do you hate him? I can never understand why people hate great players, no matter what team you support.
-
Exactly, .. why do you hate Rooney too, don't say cause he's fat cause no way in hell is he fat, .. he's a fucking train, he's so fast.
-
Rooney is not great, i'm sorry. He's an average striker that has been way overhyped. Forwards better than Rooney:
Benjani
Berbatov
Tevez
Adebayor
Fernando Torres
Anelka
Drogba
Van Persie (healthy)
That is obviously a long and undeniable list, sorry. Rooney is not great by any means.
-
Yeah, they're all good, if not better, but Rooney has a power shot, is fast, and never gives up, did you not see him play against Portsmouth? He was trying hard plus having a laugh with his English teammates. Please, do not say Rooney is not good.
-
Rooney is just an average good player. He is not great.
-
He's in between.
He's amazing at chipping the ball over goalkeepers, ..
He can set up plays, and whatnot..
We'll settle at in between because I know he's not the greatest, but he's up there.
-

Benjani
Berbatov
Tevez
Adebayor

I would probably strike out a few more but that's OK. When you make your arguement, take everything into consideration, not just one thing. Rooney is only 22 and he's dominating already. To say Benjani is better than Rooney is a joke. Come on... you know better than that. Tevez doesn't play as important of a role as Rooney at Man U and that says a lot. Not only that, but Tevez was nothing special at West Ham last season. To say the least, Tevez is rather inconsistent.
If you want to be reasonable, you can say the likes of Drogba, Anelka, Adebayor, and Torres are on the same level as Rooney. To say they are better is a bit far fetched.
-
All of those players you have crossed out are better than Rooney. They are better all rounders and much more technical than Rooney.
Berbatov is a beast hes a big man, can dribble well, has got a great strike and power thats why United or Chelsea were ready to pay 30 mil for him.
Teves is an amazing dribbler, hes a menace, cannot be shut down definitely much more dangerous than Rooney.
Benjani's got incredible pace a goal machine imagine he was at a better club with better players around him. I don't really see Rooney as a big goal threat. Benjani scored double the amount Rooney has scored so far. Actually all three of them have scored more than Rooney.
People need to stop looking at age it doesn't matter. Rooney is not on the same level as Anelka, Drogs, Torres or Bayor (yet).
-
Age does matter, they're only starting out, they're still getting experience.
Damn, I wish I had as much arguement skill as all of you.
-
I understand that but to say that he is on the level of better players because he is good for his age is unfair. He might be as good one day but right now these guys are preforming better than he is. Some players hit their peak at an older age.
Stop it your making me blush. :'(
-
Yeah, but for his age to be on a really good club and to be scoring against really good keepers and to be scoring in the CL is pretty damn good. He's got one of the hardest shots and he's really fast. What you're saying is true on how they reach their peak at an older age, just give this guy time and he'll be better than all of those players for sure, but take nothing away from his skill right now.
-
He was on a pretty long dry patch in the Champions league before last season ;). I wouldn't say for sure he will be better than them unless you have a crystal ball. Hes always been given more credit than he deserves by the media they made it seem as if we where looking at a next Pele in the making but they cooled it off lately. Hes got a quiet a long way to go I reckon to be better than the likes of Anelka, Berbatov, Tevez or Drogba.
-
He can be better, he's got the skill to be .. like if his skill develops, he can be better than them.
Arsenal 3 - City 1
United v Spurs
Chelsea v Portsmouth
Coming up in 5 mins. ;)
-
Great night of football just watched the City v Arsenal followed by the 2 games you mentioned above followed by Nigeria v Ghana at 3. :rockit:
-
Got your satellite fixed I suppose? ;)
Giggs, Hargreaves, Scholes, Ronaldo
I'm loving our midfield. :)
-
No not yet but luckily a sheisha bar near by has satellite and a large screen TV.
-
United 0-1 Tottenham at the half
Berbatov.
Adebayor is on fucking fire. Arsenal is on fucking fire. My first time saying this, Come on SPURS
-
:cursing:
Adebayor scored 2 right? So Ronaldo and Adebayor are tied?
-
They should be tied. Adebayor making a strong push for player of the year
-
did u hear Kanoute picks up African player of the year award
-
Rooney's out for the derby, again. :cursing:
-
He got a yellow again.
-
doesnt look good for man u there behind by a goal 10 min left.
-
Chelsea v Portsmouth
1-1
77 min
-
CARLITOS TEVEZ!
We needed that point!
Tottenham were real good at pressuring us on the ball unfortunately. Rooney backtracked really well to help out the defenders.
We'll take the point, it's better than nothing.. looks like Chelsea is going to tie too so we're okay.. but Arsenal have taken over once again but we'll get it back.
-
You needed 3.
Rooney was diving all over the place. United played like complete shit. Lucky.
-
Ofcourse we needed 3, but we're not out of it.
1 is better than nothing.
Rooney did good to help the defence, but yes, he did dive.
We didn't play shit, we played okay, it was hard to get past the Spurs defenders, they pressured us.. why do you think Ronaldo was quiet.
-
Chelsea v Portsmouth
draw 1-1
defoe gets a goal for his new club.
-
Juande Ramos:
Cup final
Beat Arsenal (first time in 9 years for spurs)
Beat Manchester United
He's the special one.
-
I don't really see Rooney as a big goal threat. Benjani scored double the amount Rooney has scored so far. Actually all three of them have scored more than Rooney.
Rooney is not on the same level as Anelka, Drogs, Torres or Bayor (yet).
Rooney comes back for the ball more and helps the players around him to score. Note that he had 11 assists last season, beating Gerrard and Lampard in that category. You are not giving him enough credit. I don't really like him but you can't say he's not a top striker. Saying he's not on the level of Drogba, Torres or Adebayor is wrong. He is and is probably ahead of them from some people's eyes. Rooney's skill is on par with some of the best. You are not taking into account his most valuable asset however. That being his dedication and work effort. It's unmatched by any player in my opinion. Despite him not being clinical in front of goal at times, it's OK considering the amount of chances he creates for himself.
In the end, I would have a hard time picking any forward over Rooney.
Interesting results today by the way.
-
I would have an easy time picking Gabriel Agbonlahor ahead of Rooney.
-
Come on melbourne, don't be hideous. :saywhat:
-
lol
-
Melbourne hates Rooney so don't expect commonsense when it comes to Rooney.Melbourne probably thinks Alex Ferguson should make the team instead of Rooney.
-
A good example to support Adi is Rooney v Campbell on Wednesday, he lost the race to the ball, but didn't give up, he got the ball back and created a scoring opportunity.
-
Melbourne hates Rooney so don't expect commonsense when it comes to Rooney.Melbourne probably thinks Alex Ferguson should make the team instead of Rooney.
Sam remember back in school you said Rooney was better than Ronaldinho or Ronaldinho was better than Zidane just to piss me off you would say anything to disagree with me your opinion doesn't matter. :dontknow:
Come on melbourne, don't be hideous. :saywhat:
Honestly I don't understand what people see in Rooney to me he looks nothing more than average.
-
We agree on something
-
I look ahead to Alves scoring!! ¡¡¡45 goles en 38 apperances!!! :cursing:
-
Bolton are back
-
I've watched Manchester City - Arsenal match last saturday and I'm interested in one thing. When all the players were entering the pitch,Adebayor (or someone similar to him of Arsenal's players) entered last, put his hands up in air and hold so for few seconds (I know majority makes sign of cross after touching the grass, but I'd really like if somebody can say sth more detailed about that Adebayor's stuff, and also,I saw Ejide doing sth like that before every match on Africa Cup of nations while standing on goal)...
-

hell yesssss
go with a.young though

That would be him praying to God. It's what Muslim players usually do. Ribery does it with Bayern and Anelka has done it before too I think. Since quite a few African players are of Islamic faith, that's why you see quite a few of them doing it at the African Nations Cup.
-
You know what, I think Arteta is really underrated. He's pretty good.
Everton 0 - 0 Reading
Man Utd v City, Sunday
Chelsea v Liverpool Sunday
Arsenal v Blackburn Monday
-
Arteta blows on Cesc's nuts
-
Manchester City 2-1 Manchester United
Ronaldo completely shut down
Benjani with a goal for his new club
Now if we can beat Blackburn, 5 points clear :booty:
-
i took benjani out of my fantasy team.... though i am so far top it dont matter.
After watching the game... man city were just the better team on the day and deserved to win.
-
We had a lot of chances, just couldn't convert them. City (shitty) did well on shutting us down.
We'll be back.
-
Arseanl need to win all fixtures like they've been doing. A draw at Chelsea and United would also be comfortable results. The title is well in sights now for the team that was supposed to finish outside of the top 5 this year
-
It was probably Ferdinand's worst game. I missed Evra pouncing at loose balls and carrying it up on the left wing. Our midfield wasn't the best. I think Carrick should have started with Scholes, would have been better. Also, we were missing a spark up front, which is Rooney.
We'll be back v Arsenal. You watch.
-
I'll watch, but I won't be the one eating my words. I know United could very well win. But like I said, with a win tomorrow, Arsenal has some leeway.
By the way, put the brooms up because City just finished sweeping United
-
Fuck that Liverpool vs Chelsea game. 0-0. The worst game i've seen all season from any league. These are the "big 4" and they both played like complete shit. I don't think anyone passed more than 3 in a row. It was so stupid. Babel was the only decent player. United is only 3 points ahead of Chelsea, I bet they didn't even realize that.
-
Haha, whatever you say Bryan. ;)
It can go anyone's way really. Let's see if Arsenal can capitalize all these points that have been slipped up. And by the way, don't ever mention shitty city again, cause we're in the CL and they aren't. ;)
--
On the eve of the Manchester derby, Sir Alex Ferguson scooped his 20th Barclays Manager of the Month award, while Cristiano Ronaldo was recognised as the league's star man for January.
-
Put the brooms up!!
Hopefully Arsenal will win tomorrow, that would be a big step to the title.
-
:cursing:
Yeah 5 points is a hell of a gap, but all it takes is a defeat to us, and a small slip up and you lose that lead.
-
Please, the only team that keeps slipping is United. 5 losses? Please.
No, I'm not going to talk shit, because I know that nothing has been close to being won. But, you must admit, that for champions United loses entirely too much. Even in the Carling Cup, a 2-0 loss at home to some random ass team! But right..we shall see how this unfolds.
-
It's true, too many losses this year. It's annoying that we've been top of the table twice and then we slip up right away. Please, we fielded a very very weak team against Coventry.
EDIT:
Happy Birthday Bryan.
-
If Arsenal can keep thier loses to 1, then the title is very much a reality. I mean, being that they don't tie all of thier games. The FA cup tie this weekend should be interesting. And the champions league is right after. Big week coming up for us all.
Thank you. I'm 19
-
I had the Chelsea vs. Liverpool game recorded. Glad Buck warned me about how boring it was.
-
Adi, you don't have to record it, there are tons of cappers online that capture full games, I can set up links but I thought nobody would download it..
Bryan, you're right, especially after a hard FA Cup tie. We're playing away in Lyon, are you guys playing away too?
-
I'm not playing anywhere
Arsenal is at home on Wednesday (thankfully my last class finishes at 1:20). As long as Arsenal don't conceed in the first leg, they should be able to win this. It's going to be good.
-
Oh well, as long as you got my drift.
I think I might be able to catch the game too.
-
Arsenal 2-0 Blackburn
Senderos scored early, and Adebayor just banked his 19th premier league goal of the season :booty:
-
5 point lead.
:cursing:
-

No need. I record it through my DVR. Thanks though.
-
A lot of people said Arsenal is going to be the one to start slipping up. Still hasn't happened. Though there is still time for a late slip up, you must admit, the Gunners are a class act, and as of now they deserve the title.
-
Untd out of the Carling cup soon out of the EPL title race and soon out of the F.A. Cup
-
They are not out of the title race.
-
if i was to choose out of man utd, chelsea and arsenal to win the prem... its gotta be arsenal al the way.
-
Untd out of the Carling cup soon out of the EPL title race and soon out of the F.A. Cup
Have you been watching any of these?
We're not out of the EPL, we've got a tough month coming up where we face Chelsea and Arsenal, if we win both, we're fine. And we've got the same chance as Arsenal to win the FA Cup..
-
i am so happy after this weekend. arsenal are top of the table i am worried though bolton manchester and liverpool are all in our near future
-
Bolton is pretty low Bucky. I would be more worried of Tottenham and City.
-
Id rather Arsenal than United win it any day.

United did not, so what would it prove?

Actually we did, 3-2.
-
Oh my lord. Milan destroyed United 3-0 at the San Siro. You won the home leg, we are talking away. Step your comprehension game up.
-
Tito, it's coming. Haha
you wish
-
What's the point of your Kaka post then?
Tito, I'm not a Bolton fan though.

Nevermind. Read it over.

Tito, I'm not a Bolton fan though.
what are you on about

I don't know, 6 points clear of Manchester United is all I see.
-
With a game in hand. If we win today, it's 3 points. We still have to face you at home, I don't know man, we've got a hell of a chance.
-
United are the defending champions, if they did not have a hell of a chance it would be embarrasing. You are thinking far to ahead, anyway.
-
Yeah, Arsenal might not even win a game again.
I'm only kidding.. I know Arsenal is a strong force and they'll get back soon, but with Eduardo gone they're missing a key player.
-
That was a stupid game. Gallas was crying at the end, after kicking the piss out of the advertisement board. He ran all the way down to the other end of the field when the penalty was awarded. It could be 8 points right now. It is only 6, and it could very well stay that way.
-
He ran before they even scored?
Anyways, time will tell.
-
I think so. He was ready to kill someone. I would have done the same thing, it was the most absent minded defending by Clichey in the last minute. At least Walcott finally scored.

walcott isnt developing as quick as arsenal would like..... probably would of been a good idea to load him out get some confidence... but arsenal dont av the squad size to do tht
-
Ronaldo with a magnificent cross, took him a blink of an eye, .. then Rooney was there for the tap in. Great goal.
1-0 Rooney

Especially with Rosicky and Eboue out injured. But now that Eduardo is out, surely AW won't go with Bendtner to start. Perhaps Theo can get a start up front.
-
Would be good for Theo to play more.
2-0 United; Beautiful pass from Carrick to Ronaldo.
3-0 United; Ronaldo again, his 21st goal in the EPL and 29th in all competitions.
-
Arsenal now has a 3 point lead over United. It's going to be interesting to see who slips up next time around.
-
any body noticed tht all the games man utd have lost... have been all the games rooney hasnt played? and to think we have people saying rooney isn't an importnt player for them.
i think arsenal may slip off with the end of the season... they slipped at this point last season
-
Haha Bow, you're great man. I think I mentioned that before though.
Fuck Newcastle, now I can't get 6 points from Ferdinand in Fantasy.
EDIT: HAHA SPEAKING OF ROONEY... what a goal!
-
I think Arsenal was in 4th at this stage last season. I don't think people realize that Chelsea is also still in contention. But to be fair, as i've been saying, Arsenal gets written off every month by people. They are expected to slip off after every tie.
Holy shit, Rooney just scored a beastly goal I must say.
-

the reason i think they may slip is the size of the squad seems to keep gettin smaller due to injuries
-
This may be so, there are a lot of injuries. Toure is out for a few more weeks, Rosicky should be back in a week or so, Van Persie needs to be sold because he will never come back fully fit, Eduardo is out for a year or so, Eboue shouldn't be out for too much longer. All of these players are key components to Arsenal's style and gameplan. Subsitutes like Bendtner, Senderos, and Walcott seem to be a little bit below the level of the injured players. This can definitely play a key role in thier fate. But if Adebayor continues to score, Fabregas continues to lead the league in assists, and Sagna continues to be Arsenal's unsung hero, they may be able to pull of the title
Saha 5-1
-
ELITE you smart man.
Newcastle must really hate us..
11-1 in all games.
-
If Chelsea wins thier league game, they will still be 3 points behind United. So it is definitely not just Arsenal who needs to watch out. Both teams must make a trip to Stamford Bridge as well.
-
Too true. United and Arsenal can switch from defence to offence a lot quicker than Chelsea can though. They both just seem so much more better than Chelsea now.. maybe cause no one talks about them anymore. Oh well.
Time will tell. ;)
Rooney wonder goal:

-
No one cares about Chelsea.
-
Sagna is my favorite Gunner. His hair is too cool and he's a beast. He sprints 80 yards down the right and doesn't even need to catch his breath. :saywhat:
Poor Eduardo. I hear Taylor got death threats from Croatian fans. That's not fair but neither was the tackle.
As ELITE said, Chelsea is still in this. They are still without some key players and are just now hitting their stride. It's going to be interesting.
I think Arsenal's depth and their injuries will be key to whether they win this season. I said it before, and still stand by it. I hope they continue to play well despite the injuries. If Walcott can do what he's done in the last two games, they should be OK.
-

i bet Golomejic was one of them lol
-
What was he gonna do? Freestyle him to death?
-
Arsenal 0 - 1 Villa
Fulham 0 - 3 United
Lampard got a red.
Come on United and Villa!
-
Arsenal 1-1 Villa
We fuck with that last minute shit.
-
Ah fuck. :cursing:
Did it against us, and now Villa.
-
Senderos got clowned the entire game. Outmuscled, out hustled, and not to mention he scored the own goal. We can see now just how valuable Toure, Rosicky, and Eduardo were to Arsenal. Those three area's (supporting forward, center back, wide right) lacked, and lacked bad. Theo is playing well though. I never thought i'd be this happy for a tie today. When it gets down to the wire, it feels like a win.
-
This is nerveracking. ;)
Walcott is playing great at the moment.
Birmingham 4 - 1 Tottenham
Chelsea 4 - 0 West Ham
And this is still going on..
Yeah, Arsenal might not even win a game again.
-
A tie at home is not what you need when you have to go to the San Siro on a slight slump of form. A win would have been the best. Not the first time Arsenal has been only 1 point clear. It is strange; thier lead went from around 1 to 4 or 5, down to 3 and now back to 1. Hopefully Arsenal doesnt conceed the lead late this season after having had it the whole season.
-
Respect to Arsenal, they've been doing really well to keep the lead, but lately, injuries have killed them. Like you mentioned, Eduardo, Toure and Rosicky are crucial.
A good variation in our side today. Ronaldo and Rooney were rested and brought on after. HARGREAVES scored his first for United! Park scored and Fulham got an own goal. Ronaldo and Rooney were brought on after.. imagine the Fulham players all tired and then seeing Rooney and Ronaldo come on.. haha.
-
Surprised when i flipped back to the United game that it was not 5-0 or something. I think if Arsenal's young players did not feature in the League Cup and make a decent run, they would have done worse. Diaby, Bendtner, and Denilson maybe would not be able to feature in games like this without that expirience from early in the season.
What a slender lead now. The games featuring the big 4 vs each other are now even more crucial than before.
-
Lampard's red card got revoked. Lucky bastard.
I can't believe Arsenal scored on the last kick of the game. So crazy, and lucky in some ways. Now Chelsea just needs to close the gap a bit more and we'll have a hell of a closing to the season.
Tottenham is at it again... losing to a team they should beat. So inconsistent.
-
They were high off of the cup final victory :bang:
I don't like the fact that Alliadiere appealed and got denied, along with another game added to his ban. Masherano clearly hit him harder and also first.
-
Eddie Johnson forgot how to play soccer again.
-
newcastle are losing 2-0 against liverpool and Torres has scored again. has keegan even had a point since being in charge of newcastle again?
-
Fernando Torres is good.
-
Eddie Johnson remembers how to play again. Hits the upright.
MGP scores at other end.
-
Fulham 1 - 1 Blackburn
Jimmy Bullard
-
Torres got player of the month.
-
Was Bullards goal on a freekick? Bullard likes to score freekicks, and do the same celebration of jumpin up and punching the air. I love him.
Torres deserves more than that to be fair. His first season, and he is now tied with Adebayor with 19 league goals. He caught up fast. What a player.
-
Yes
-
 Classic Bullard

Arsenal held up again!

yeah...he was even incredible in '06 when he ate up every single country spain faced except for france...

I wonder why ELITE won't post here.

Probably because I have a midterm in Intermediate Accounting in two days. I forget you are only 14 with time to spare.
Ohh wow, Arsenal tied Wigan. Season is over.
-
Didn't mean it like that man.
-
Eddie Johnson forgot how to play soccer again.
He's got attitude and work-rate problems when it comes to training and sometimes games. This comes from someone that used to play with him in Dallas. He better not be continuing this attitude in Europe or he'll be shipped back pretty fast.
He did have that very nice shot off the post last game though.
EDIT: Just saw your post about his shot.

Fulham 1 - 1 Blackburn
Jimmy Bullard
That ugly Bullard son of a gun can hit them freekicks. It's almost a guarantee when he gets them this season.
Didn't mean it like that man.
Come on Borg, stop feeling sorry for him. ELITE can handle it. :boxing:
By the way ELITE, see if you can beat my two As in Accounting I and II.
-
I've got one more test to go for the semester.
Test 1: 100 Test 2 (which i took today): 84 :bang:
But I will get an A
Got to love the lower-of-cost-or-market!!

Excellent games!
I'm rooting for Chelsea to win this. Come on!

Ronaldo scored yet another brace which takes his goal tally to 33 for the season. The motherfucker is unstoppable! :pimp:

Ronaldo passes George Best for most goals in a season, and he was captain today too.
Unstoppable is correct! Another free-kick goal.
Chelsea drew 4-4 with Spurs.
United 70
Arsenal 67
Chelsea 65
Liverpool 59
Everton 56

Ronaldo could have added another one. I only saw the game from the 60th minute but it looked like a good one for Man U.
I wish I had seen the Chelsea vs Tottenham game. Looks like a cracker.

Terry Compares 'Weak' Arsenal With 'Winners' Chelsea
Chelsea stopper John Terry admits that rivals Arsenal can be mesmerising at times, but he'd rather win ugly with Chelsea...
Despite Chelsea trailing second-placed Arsenal by two points in the Premiership table, skipper John Terry thinks the Gunners are weak, whilst Chelsea are more resilient.
"When it doesn't go well," Terry told the Mirror, "sometimes you need a scrappy goal, a deflection from inside the box, everybody hurling themselves at the ball.
"Ourselves and Man United, we've got that, but Arsenal don't seem to get goals like that. It's a weakness in them."
The Blues skipper doesn't see much point in Arsenal's creativity if they can't put matches to bed.
"When Arsenal really turn it on, they're exceptional," Terry admitted. "They can cut teams open.
"When [Emmanuel] Adebayor is flying and [Cesc] Fabregas is bombing on from midfield with those fantastically timed runs of his, they have got goals in them. But there have been plenty of times when they haven't been able to kill games off.
"They've created a hatful of chances and they haven't been able to produce that final punch. OK, so we don't always play pretty football.
"Well, that's because we don't have to. It's all about winning games. That's what it comes down to."
"Fans want to see nice football but more than anything they want to see you picking up points and trophies," he said. "If you lose one game, maybe they will say: 'Yeah, but we played well so I'll settle for that'.
"But you lose two or three games and that goes out of the window; suddenly, the pressure is on the players, the manager and the club.
"So we know that we can match anybody. We can pass anybody off the pitch. But there are also times when we need to go forward, hit Didier [Drogba], hit Nico [Nicolas Anelka], and pick up the second ball.
"At the Bridge, teams come and sit back and you can only do so much passing. In the end, you need to turn them around and squeeze them in their half and put the pressure on them. You do what you need to do to get the job done."
Chelsea will certainly look to “get the job done” on Sunday. They host Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal knowing that victory will propel them above their London rivals.
while in the other game
Benitez: I'll Beat Fergie's Record
As the two teams prepare to clash at Old Trafford, Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has declared he will win his first league title with Liverpool in better time than Sir Alex Ferguson did with Manchester United...
Spirits are high at Anfield and confidence is through the roof. The Reds have won seven in seven, are through to the quarterfinals of the Champions League and are one of the more likely teams to win the competition, and have daylight between themselves and local rivals Everton in the race for fourth place in the Premier League table.
This, after a season that could only be described as absolutely miserable up until midway through February. Rafa's side were languishing in the league, being surpassed by the likes of Everton and Manchester City at various times throughout the campaign. The misery was compounded following an uninspired performance that saw Chelsea eliminate them from the Carling Cup and the FA Cup humiliation we have all come to know as 'the Barnsley effect'.
A Spine
Of his side's stuttering league form since his appointment as manager — which proves to be his only genuine weakness — Benitez had a point ready to fire back at his critics, and it's one sure to get people talking in the lead-up to his side's Grand Slam Sunday derby with fierce rivals and Premier League leaders Manchester United.
"[Sir Alex] Ferguson needed seven years to win his first Premier League," he said. "We are in the fourth year and I'm disappointed because we could be closer this year, that's clear. But now we have a spine, a group of young players that we can progress with.
"We had the plan of how to play before but we didn't have the options we have now. Now I have confidence we can win the title before seven years.
"If you analyse each of our players you will see we have some good players. If you talk about enough players in the squad for winning the title compared with United, Arsenal, Chelsea, you say OK, we are closer, but how close? I don't know exactly how far away we are, but we are closer."
Understanding
The main factor in Liverpool's recent run of form has without doubt been the incredible goal-scoring form of summer signing Fernando Torres.
With club talisman Steven Gerrard playing a more advanced role behind the Spanish starlet, Benitez appears to have found an invaluable forward pairing of sorts, which the Reds have lacked for all too long.
While Dirk Kuyt being played on the wing leaves something to be desired, Ryan Babel is always improving, and Xabi Alonso's pairing with Javier Mascherano is one of the most accomplished in European football.
Finally, the Reds are getting the balance almost exactly how Benitez will have no doubt been visualising since his arrival. The former Valencia coach understandably only had good words for his dynamic duo of Torres and Gerrard, who will no doubt look to cause Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic plenty of problems early on Sunday afternoon.
"Torres has improved in the last months and his understanding with Gerrard is much better," explained Benitez.
"He needed time to settle. So he's more dangerous now. And I think Stevie is really happy playing in a more forward position and also because he has found a player he can pass the ball to without watching him.
"The understanding between the two is really good. He can pass the ball to someone and knows he will create a chance. When you know when you pass the ball and you can create something, it makes a huge difference."
An arguably equally crucial factor regarding the side's success is the consistency. Not only has Benitez found a formula that works, he is allowing the same plays to play together consistently and gain a cohesive understanding.
Benitez has of course long been criticised for his squad rotation, and with many now doing their best to point to the team's good form and simultaneous lack of rotation, Rafa is refusing to concede defeat on the issue.
As stubborn as he has been successful, the Spanish tactician insists he has only abstained from rotating due to the less congested fixture calendar, which strongly suggests it will be business as usual come August, though of course many a Liverpool fan will be hoping for decidedly better results.
"We have less games so we can keep more or less the same team," concluded Rafa.

Good job Tito. ;)

Mascherano is an idiot.. he got two yellows, and he complained to the ref for something he wasn't even involved in, .. and didn't need to be. Torres got a yellow too.
Reina is really bad today..

Ronaldo's celebration was so class, reminded me of Cantona, and Nani has an amazing shot!

You know when Cantona scored that nice goal and he looked into the crowd and looked around like a king, well Ronaldo did something similar today. ;)

What a dissapointing day. I was hoping Liverpool to beat United and Arsenal to beat Chelsea.
-
What was the final score for Chelsea? 2-1?
Any key factors in the game? I missed it.
-
I went to bed I just saw the score on Soccer net. Apparently Drogba inspired a come back scoring 2 goals in 8 minutes after Sngya put Arsenal in front.
-
And just like that Arsenal drop to 3rd, Chelsea are right in it, and United increase their lead.
-
That sucks I really want this to be Arsenals year.

I have a feeling Chelsea will win the EPL this season. Always in football when I don't want something to happen it happens. :saywhat:

ELITE has disappeared ever since Arsenal stopped winning games. :boxing:
Borg, your streak is still alive. Arsenal hasn't won in 6 games!

And Arsenal is losing Sagna for 3 weeks now. They are lucky they are playing Bolton next week. With the way Arsenal plays though, they can outplay anyone but they can also lose to just about anyone even though they are dominating.
I think the injuries are finally catching up to Arsenal. I guess it was only a matter of time before the depth of teams like Man U and Chelsea came around to finish off the season.

I have always thought these things. Arsenal has less young talent and a shorter bench.
-
I don't know about young talent... that's the one thing I think they have. Wenger is not afraid to look to his youngsters and usually they step up and play well. I just think he should have maybe brought in one or two more players over the break. He has a huge budget just sitting there. Why not just invest in someone experienced when you know your team has a long list of injury-prone players?

because there arent that many older talents available. And Arsenal have no young talent compared to Man U. Yes Wenger is not adverse to the idea of signing young talent, but their scouting programs are less dveloped than the one developed by Busby and resurrected by SAF.
-
Everyone predicted Arsenal would slip up sooner or later, but Adi was the man to say they'd slip up because of all these injuries. I like the way SAF uses his players. He looks down to the academy and reserves and he loans them so they get experience. Lee Martin is a fabulous player, and when he got called up, he scored.
SAF tests his injured players in the reserve team which is a smart move, like Neville, Foster, Silvestre.
The biggest game that's left for United is really Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.. if we win that, and avoid any other losses, I think we've got a great chance.

yeah man u's youth program is the best
-
if you guys are talking about youth take a long look at Middlesboro thier youth program has produce the most high quality youth players in the Premier League
-
yeah, but they cant keep their talent
-
Who? I really thought Middlesbrough could go somewhere a few years ago, but now all I can see is Everton, Tottenham and Villa other than the big 4.
Anyways, some predictions..
Birmingham 0 - 2 Man City
Bolton 1 - 2 Arsenal
Derby 0 - 1 Fulham
Portsmouth 2 - 0 Wigan
Reading 2 - 2 Blackburn
Sunderland 1 - 1 West Ham
Man Utd 2 - 0 Aston Villa
Chelsea 2 - 0 Middlesbrough

Liverpool 2 - 1 Everton

ELITE has disappeared ever since Arsenal stopped winning games. :boxing:
Borg, your streak is still alive. Arsenal hasn't won in 6 games!
I havn't had much time to post, I've been overwhelmed with a bit of school work. I'm still here :hello:
I have faith in Arsenal, let's see if the Gunners can salvage something. Let's see if United can beat Chelsea, that would be game over.
-
I see you're non-comittal, elite. finally given up on your gunners, eh?
-
Also yes, If Arsenal fails to win anything this year Wenger will face the fact that the youth can't do it all, despite proving tons of people wrong already this season.
Given up? It's just getting good
The past three seasons by this time the season was already over. This is one of the best finishes in a while. Why would I give up? Arsenal lead the league for the most of this season, and for a team that was supposed to be shut down, you must say it is remarkable, even if they don't win.
Sagna out, who has been an unsung hero for Arsenal. Van Persie looked OK vs Chelsea, if he can get a few more games in, he will prove crucial.
-
I still think Arsenal will choke. Its in their blood.
-
Unbeaten season, 49 games. Only in the blood of the Arsenal! Don't think Arsenal can't win. They've won more times than Chelsea :booty:
-
yeah but the always choke at the crucial moment, unbeaten season aside
-
They've won more than one season
Go ahead on and support Manchester United, it's the easy way out isn't it?
-
I've supported man u since I was 7...
EDIT: also, they havent been the best in recent years. In '99, however....Where were the gunners then?
-
8 years ago. The year 2000. The season after the treble? Or the season of?
-
It was before I knew about the treble...I just saw them play and liked the way they moved the ball, so I became a fan...same thing sorta with Barca back when they were coming in 4th and stuff
-
Yeah, i'm sure everyone loved the way a team that won 3 trophies moved the ball.
-
Glad to have you back ELITE, you stoner.
-
Loool ELITE smokes the grass
-
Arsenal is playing poor! :dontknow: Toure at right back, Senderos in, Bendtner in, Diaby redcarded off. Losing 2-0 to Bolton at half?
Fuck
-
hehe...I told you they'd fold
-
Wow, are you kidding me?
United play in an hour.. anyone want to have an in-game chat?
-
I'm up for it...I dont get the score or foxsports  so keep me posted
-
The game vs Birmingham started this whole run of shit. Eduardo got badly injured and then Birmingham scored on a last minute stupid penalty. From then on, its been D D D L and well...
The team has suffered mentally more than physically I think. This is also Arsene Wenger's worst run at his reign over Arsenal. What a brilliant time for this to just come about.
-
I think I may have cursed Arsenal with that thing I said. :saywhat:
Golo is viewing this topic, an in-game chat would be good, let's see if he posts. :cursing:

No, Golomejic.
Derby scored the first goal v Fulham, but then conceited one. I really hope Derby wins a game because they played really well against us.
ELITE, I said something like.. "Who knows, Arsenal may not even win another game."
EDIT:
Yeah, Arsenal might not even win a game again.

oh crap, my bad...I misread golo as god, because you were talking about jinxing Arsenal with your comment. lol. god is viewing this topic too. He goes by the codename of totalfootball10

Fuck
I just seen the highlights on Sportsnet, Arsenal look like a mess! Diaby's challenge was very poor, and the second goal was quite shit.
City are down to Birmingham at half.

Arsenal actually don't look to bad considering they are a man down. Van Persie is doing well for himself, but Bendtner? I don't understand why choose him over Adebayor.
-
Arsenal is playing poor! :dontknow: Toure at right back, Senderos in, Bendtner in, Diaby redcarded off. Losing 2-0 to Bolton at half?
Fuck
I just seen the highlights on Sportsnet, Arsenal look like a mess! Diaby's challenge was very poor, and the second goal was quite shit.
definitely mental issue, because arsenal has too much talent to play that shit even if they have some walking wounded.
-
Arsenal actually don't look to bad considering they are a man down. Van Persie is doing well for himself, but Bendtner? I don't understand why choose him over Adebayor.
maybe he is really sore, so the management thought that he should sit a game
-
Arsenal is getting completely raped right now.
-
2-1, Gallas
-
Just saw it, free volley.
This game seems interesting so I'm gonna watch.
-
I have Arsenal on both tickets, 2 and x2. :cursing:
-
Beautiful layoff by Adebayor, and now a penalty to Arsenal.
2-2; Van Persie
Stupid Bolton.
-
Look Wenger, Adebayor is fit! Start him, start him!
Let's see if we can get the third.
-
Fucking hell!
If anyone scores another one it'll be Arsenal ...
-
wow that game is shaping up to be great. i think it will end 3-3 arsenal will take the lead and bolton will get a late goal. im off to work so ill know the socres later
-
Adebayor has got to be smart with his chances. I hope he's still not worried about catching Ronaldo and will make smart moves.
-
Bolton look hopeless, can't even hold on to a 2-0 lead against a 10 men side.
This thread is rocking.
Chunk, Golo, ELITE, we need more of these chats.
-
Yeah, though sadly I wont be here when United play 'cause I'm off to watch the game in a bar.
But I'll be back for post-game reactions.
-
The Golomagician is back!
Should be good man. Although I'll be lonely on here.
-
Adebayor hasn't scored in the league with the hair cut, but has scored in Europe. Get the braids dammit!
15 minutes left. It's intense
-
Oh yes, Arse's comeback keep one of my tickets alive!
-
Christ Van Persie, how do you miss that..
-
Missed what?!! :saywhat:
-
Oh yes, Arse's comeback keep one of my tickets alive!
Actually, NO! Fucking Leverkusen lost to fucking E.Frankfurt! :saywhat:
-
Golo, did you bet for Arsenal on one ticket and then against them on the other?
And did you bet on United?
-
I had 2 on Arsenal on one and x2 on the other. (1=home win, x=draw,2=away win)
Yeah, I also have United but it doesn't matter now anyways. :nopity:
-
I hate betting on United cause the odds are so low. :cursing:
Arsenal look like they'll score any second now.
-
Missed what?!! :saywhat:
Walcott played him in and he skied it from six yards out.
And he just did it again, from about 10 yards out.
-
FABREGAS!!!!
3-2
-
Oh fuck
Retarded Bolton!
-
If anyone scores another one it'll be Arsenal ...
Well, at least I got something right.
-
Wow, it's over.
Bolton are shocked.. guess my statement is over.
Perfect time for Bolton to pick up some points, 2-0 up, have an extra guy, but no.
-
Oh well, Im off to watch Ronaldo score. :hello:
-
Hey! Don't forget the song! ;)
And the new Anderson one too..
"And he shits on Fabregas!"
-
Oh man, what a glorious comeback. Only half an hour ago I was saying that Arsenal was getting raped. And the comeback was just glorious. You gotta love Fabregas, what another crucial goal to score for him this season. 10 men, and they say Arsenal can't win ugly! It doesn't happen as often as it should, but it has happened in the most crucial point of the season. Now if Chelsea and United can lose...
-
Argh, Ronaldo flicked it up to set himself up with a volley, what a chance.
Our through balls are amazing at the moment.
-
cant believe arsenal tied that up. Damn...so much for my 'arsenal sucks right now' theory
-
Argh, Ronaldo flicked it up to set himself up with a volley, what a chance.
Our through balls are amazing at the moment.
what channel?
-
1-0, Ronaldo
Ronaldo is the best. Like i've said before, without him, United wouldn't be half the team they are.
-
crap, I'm gonna need highlights here. Sportsnet selling their rights to the Score was the worst thing that ever happened to me. How was the goal? And by the way, Derby and Fulham were tied last time I checked...THATS the game I get
-
Get Sopcast and stream the game online.
It was a backflick in actually, it was brilliant.
-
Yeah man, I stream, but it randomly restarts my computer, so I missed the goal!
-
ahhhh crap I cant believe I missed it. I will have to consult footytube in a few hours to see highlights
-
Oh my God we're playing fabulous.
2-0; Tevez
Great cross from Ronaldo
-
yeeeeaaaaa...looks like man u's year, huh ELITE
-
Giggs is so class, it looks like he's the instructor and he's teaching Ronaldo. He lets Ronaldo take all the free-kicks, and gives him an understanding of what to do, what a guy.
Viva Ronaldo...
-
both great players...still 2-0?
-
Ronaldos goal was brilliant!
-
Ronaldos goal was brilliant!
stop rubbing in the fact that I dont get the channel!
-
Oh well, Im off to watch Ronaldo score. :hello:
Was right again, but this was an easy one I guess ...
-
tf10, I'll show you everything maybe tomorrow; like how to get it.
Ronaldo is just amazing, his goal was class, he panna-ed the defender, and it's like a given that he'll score every game.
He needs 12 goals to catch Dennis Law's 46 goal tally in a season.
Go Ronaldo!
-

Are you joking, Ronaldo NEVER scores

Go Ronaldo!
thanks borg. And what year did Dennis Law score that much?
-
1965
Come on Wazza! So close!
-
well that explains it. The brittish league sucked until the mid nineties...and I forgot what era Law played in...I thought it was 80s :bang:
-
He did.
GOAL GOAL GOAL!
Get in there! Ronaldo beautiful touch to Rooney he walks around Carson!
Yes WAZZA!
-
I'm happy and sad at the same time
-
So that's two assists for Ronaldo?
Anyone know how many assists he has this season?
-
I don't think he has a lot..
You know how much points he's gonna get in Fantasy.
Golo, I thought you were at the bar?
-
I was. I left after the first half 'cause some people I find to be annoying were there.
-
Should have punched them in the face like you do to the ladies.
Strange subs;
Hargreaves in, Ferdinand out. O'Shea in, Evra out. Anderson in, Carrick out.
-
Haha, guess I really should have.
Prediction; Anderson will score! :pimp:
-
Will you go 3/3? ;)
I really hope he does, it'll be his first. I want Hargo to score again or Wazza.
EDIT:
Rooney hits the post!
Rooney... scores! Ronaldo's 3rd assist!
-
I want Hargreaves to score...
-
I want Wayne to score a hat trick.. to silence all those critics, and I want Ronaldo to get more assists, he already has 3.
United are playing fabulous.
8 point gap for Chelsea til tomorrow.
-
well that explains it. The brittish league sucked until the mid nineties
:saywhat:
-

it did. no foreign talent, less skill...all long balls and running

There are still games to be played, games to be played.

yeah, but not enough...arsenals got alot of ground to make up
-
6 points. There are 6 games left.
6 by 3 is 18.
Not enough games?
If Chelsea wins tomorrow, 5 points. Again, 6 by 3 is 18.
There are enough games, and one of them is at Stamford Bridge.
There are still games to be played, games to be played.
-
well that explains it. The brittish league sucked until the mid nineties
:saywhat:

Define "foreign." Denis law himself wasn't very English.
I would put more in this post, but I have a lot of work to do. Let's just say that you can't argue with results.

I mean quality of soccer in league...yeah the top 3 teams or so had good talent, so what, its like that in most leagues. And Dennis Law wasnt all that foreign. He was Irish...
-
The Stamford Bridge game will be tough, if we can win all the rest of the games, we're set.
Chelsea hasn't lost in Stamford Bridge in how long?
-
79 EPL games. That's 4 years.
-
The Stamford Bridge game will be tough, if we can win all the rest of the games, we're set.
Chelsea hasn't lost in Stamford Bridge in how long?
agreed...ELITE is assuming that man u will slip like arsenal...aint gonna happen....and the answer, borg, is very long
-
I'm not assuming anything. I could marvel at you glory hunting United fans all day however  Anyway, I'm going to watch my DVD of the treble season and become a fan
-
ELITE you loser, I'm no glory hunter. My United approach is in the blood, almost all of my uncles love United, except one, .. he's a scouse. ;)
-
ELITE you loser, I'm no glory hunter. My United approach is in the blood, almost all of my uncles love United, except one, .. he's a scouse. ;)
I wasn't really directing that comment to you. Mainly the one who likes a team with a loaded trophy case.
-
That still refers to me. ;)
Hey come on, I support the Leafs and Toronto FC!
No glory hunter there.
-
This is my favorite part of the season. When all of the other United fans come out from the shadows when they are finally in first place
Borg is the only one that really has been here the whole season to be able to talk shit to me.
-
Through thick and thin buddy.
-
woow c.ronaldo is the best. his performence is amazing right now
-
woow c.ronaldo is the best. his performence is amazing right now
This, Borg, is a great example of what i'm talking about.
-
Haha, too true. I won't make excuses for that user cause I don't know them yet.
-
If I'm not mistaken, I think I may know this member from somewhere
-
Who is it?
Chelsea beat Middlesbrough 1-0.. meaning the gap is back at 5 points and Chelsea are back in second..
-
Man oh man, cronaldofan
Ehm, Middlesbrough hit the post 3 times in a row. I think a total of like 4 or 5 in the game. Afonso Alvez should have tied the game up. Chelsea looked shit. Anelka has failed at Chelsea.
-
I will be very pissed if Chelsea come out of nowhere and grab the title. That date at Stamford Bridge is concerning me. :saywhat:
-
Let's say United loses to Chelsea and Arsenal. That's all it would take for them to be overtaken :booty:
-
Too much depth, but I hope I don't eat my words. A draw will be fine.
-
This is soccer, remember. Blink an eye and you've lost your lead.
-
yeah I support TFC too, and they are usually near to last. ELITE's just jealous
-

United are like sharks...they never blink. But seriously, I predict a United draw at stamford bridge
-
yeah I support TFC too, and they are usually near to last. ELITE's just jealous
If i was jealous, I'd be a United fan. Remember, I have the DVD.

fine, then. You're bitter...bet every time you watch it you grind your teeth and mutter 'games to be played, games to be played'. Seriously though, respect to you, you're a steadfast fan
-
Arsenal hasn't won a title since 49. I'm not a sore loser, I don't take losses personally. I just enjoy watching the team I like, regardless of where they finish. Oh, and I like to talk shit from time to time

** Finally gets to post after reading through 6 pages of Premiership talk **
Cristiano Ronaldo is just unbelievable. I don't know how many times I've said it this season. There's no stopping him! I must say that I've never seen anything like it.
It's also nice to see Alvez get off to a nice start with his two goals. I was wondering when he'd make his mark on the Premiership.
Now the race it tight with Chelsea right in the mix. To be honest, I'd like it the most if they won. Nothing against Man U and Arsenal... come on Chelsea!
-
well i prefer man u, is playin awesome
nothing stop ronaldo and rooney
mancherter rocks!! :rockit:
-
i don't mind as long as United don't win
-
It will be exciting finish, but I don't think Chelsea can do much. Manchester will be on top again :rockit:, Arsenal second and Liverpool third (at least I wish so...)
-
wow this should make for an exciting climax seeing that United play Arsenal and Chelsea soon
-
Finally it's interesting in England. Last year in Spain it was down to the last day.

Why don't you be a good guy like your brother and support the good guys.
We're lucky we got a point out of that, Alvez played excellent. Rooney is back to scoring ways and Ronaldo continues to score.
Getting hot in here guys..
The race continues..
-
Why don't you be a good guy like your brother and support the good guys.
Haha, Zlatan is a money whore... he ain't supporting Man U.
-
Man U vs. Arsenal this Sunday.
-
I'm nervous.. all the big games are so near. :saywhat:
-
There will be no tie in this game. These teams want to rape each other. And someone is going to get raped. We'll see who soon.
-
Hand of God
1-0 Arsenal. Adebayor
Rio Ferdinand near own goal
:saywhat:
1-1. Ronaldo from the spot. William Gallas hand ball. Taken twice. Ronaldo took almost identical penalties.
Anderson in for Paul Scholes. Carlos Tevez in for Park Ji-Sung. 55'
-
1-1
Thank God.
I missed the first goal because I was eating, what happened?
-
Ball played in from the left by Robin Van Persie. Indecision b/w Van Der Sar and a group of defenders (Rio Ferdinand closest) at the near half of the goal. Ball appears to have gone in off of Adebayor's hand.
-
So that's two hand balls by Arsenal that caused goals.
-
2-1. United. Great free kick by Owen Hargreaves.
-
Stunning freekick!
Arsenal had no idea that Hargreaves was taking it. I love those types of freekicks, nice curl!
-
Finishes 2-1. United finished the game off very well.
-
ye boy wohoooooooooo awesome goal by hargreaves simply classic
-
United 2 - 1 Arsenal
FT.
Ronaldo and Hargreaves with the goals for United; Adebayor for Arsenal.
Arsenal are eliminated from the title race.
I think Pique played wonderful, a great callup. Park was excellent too.
Ronaldo in the corner at the end was wonderful.. nice tricks.
Credit to Arsenal though, they played beautifully in the first half and maybe 10 minutes in the second half. After that, it was all United, Arsenal did have plenty of chances, but still, it wasn't enough.
-
I don't understand why Sir Alex and Ronaldo complain for more protection when Ronaldo begs for opponents to kick him. I've never seen a world class player with such little resepect for opponents.
Bendtner should have scored a few goals; Song looked pitiful at center back. Hleb and Fabregas were great.
Ronaldo was shut down as he usually is vs the top teams though; I thought you couldn't stop your forward motion on a penalty kick?
United still has Chelsea to deal with. The usual suspects
-
Ronaldo wasn't shut down completely. He had his chances, but obviously he's going to suspect everyone to go after him, so he just passes it away.
An example, the Hargreaves freekick, who was expecting it? Everyone expected Ronado to take it, and they prepared for him, but not for Hargo, Lehmann left the whole net open. He never expected a nice curl.
-
Ronaldo had maybe (aside from his penalty) one left footed shot on goal from about 30 yards out; a slow roller to Lehman. I don't know why he doesn't impact big games like he does in the games vs the worse teams. He complained alot after clean tackles wondering why he wasn't getting penalty kicks.
Lehman actually played really well. I was surprised that he stopped Rooney's chance late on. There was nothing you could do about that freekick; it was perfect.
-
Yeah Lehmann was good today. Wasn't this his first game back? And I feel sorry for Song, he made a lot of mistakes and got shit from Gallas and Toure, but it's tough to come into this game like that. A game that means so much.
-
Well, there was one play when Rooney crept behind Toure and then they blamed Song for it; I don't know why. It's a shame Arsenal had to have injuries to Flamini and Sagna for this game; Gilberto and Song were clearly not up for the game. Gilberto gave away a silly foul to set up Hargreaves.
-
(http://i26.tinypic.com/2wnqxah.gif)
Showboating.
-
I don't understand why Sir Alex and Ronaldo complain for more protection when Ronaldo begs for opponents to kick him. I've never seen a world class player with such little resepect for opponents.
If someone is showboating it doesn't mean it's ok to kick him. If one is showing lack of respect by showboating what is someone who kicks him showing then?
I don't understand why Wenger complains about rash tackles and physical play ("ban Taylor for life") when his players tend to throw in a few kicks and punches themselfs.
Anyways ... Great game of football. Funny how a football match was influenced by so much handplay.
-
You know, I like Ronaldo but the funniest thing is that many players can actually do similar tricks, but there is a reason that it isn't really done in games. Quote me when I said kicking him shows respect
Ronaldo has a lot to learn; If he continues to do that, he will get injured, even if it is off of a clean tackle because it will be a hard tackle and he will end up on the ground hurt. If you watch after that play, and as the game ends, Fabregas has a word with him. You can see him telling Ronaldo he lacks respect. As a fan I don't see how you can appreciate it when a player gets too cocky. That's why I love Ronaldinho and Robinho; they aren't being flashy to rub shit in thier opponents face. Ronaldo does this way too much for me.
-
Good game!
The 2 best sides in the world!
arsenal took it too united at old trafford shame we couldnt have scored some more of our chances....adebayours finishing was :booty:
hleb was amazing he showed who the best dribbler in the prem is and no its not ronaldo..........ronaldo was a noo show the only time manchesters midfiled looked like it could compete with arsenals was wen tevez and anderson were brought on.....i hate gilberto :down:he was good last season but i still hated him and now hes no way near up for a game like this we need flamini.....
-
Chelsea 1-1 Wigan
Heskey equalized in the 90th min :booty:
-
5 point lead!
-
Chelsea will win Thursday and then beat United at the bridge. If not, then i'll be :bang:
-

you'll have to be :bang: then
-
Quote me when I said kicking him shows respect
Quote me when I said you said that.
Just ... I hate when players get (intentionally) kicked for "showboating" by some wank of a player and then even get cirticized for it 'cause "when you do stepovers you're showing disrespect".
I hope Ronaldo told Fabregas "Fuck off, mate. Go have a chat with Hoyte about it."
-
Haha like he told Kuyt last year.
-
the title race is over
-
Blackburn 1-0 Manchester Utd [HT]
The way Manchester is playing I doubt they'll win or even draw this one. Rooney is the only one who seems to care whether they win or lose today.
There goes the title ...
edit; emerton pulled off a great save and yes, he's not a keeper
-
GET IN!!!!!!!!!!!
TEVEZ!!!!! :booty:
-
Tevez is our lifesaver.. just like last year for West Ham.
Missed the game, and whenever I miss it, we draw.. just like the Middlesbrough game.
:booty:
-
A big part of the way English football is played is simply because of the attitudes of the players. They like to kick you and dribbling is a NO-NO especially in lower leagues. Players are getting used to playing the long ball because they know they'll get kicked if they hold it. Things are starting to change though...
Big game this weekend with Chelsea and Man U. They could be tied after this weekend. :pimp:
-
Man U was playing long-ball against Barca. It didnt work and it made me angry
-
Hell no, we'll draw.
Keep that lead alive.
-
Drogba likes to score in these games. Come on Drogba, score

-
love every bit of it lol
so true
-
Wow, that was actually hilarious.
-
What, so no one watched the big game today?
Chelsea 2-1 Manchester United
United scored only because Carvalho played Rooney clear in. But the goal was nice.
-

I was so angry when Ballck was awarded that penalty. I was even angrier when he sunk it. Man U still leads on goal differential, though.

Germany have a trust for perfection

Germany have a trust for perfection
Ballack is old and overpaid and overrated. Its just the truth.
-
I bet you were angry when he placed that header in with pin point accuracy too.
-
I was, put any player of decent quality should be able to sink that. I bet you were angry when Arsenal got out of the title race.
-
United was completely out of the game. Who does Sir Alex think he is? Not starting his best 11 and expecting to get out of that stadium without losing? Chelsea wasn't fucking around. It was a clear penalty, just as the handball Wes Brown commited when Drogba took the ball down on his chest.
I think Ashley Cole shuts Ronaldo down all of the time now because he remembers what happened to him a few years back
-
true haha. I am pissed off at SAF for a few different reasons right now. and Ronaldo OWNED right there lol...he was 18-19 too :saywhat:
-
Missed this game too, and we lost. :cursing:
I will no longer miss any United games.
Still confident.. although I haven't seen the game.. we probably played shit.
-
alas, Borg. We did play shit.
-
United was completely out of the game. Who does Sir Alex think he is? Not starting his best 11 and expecting to get out of that stadium without losing?
This isn't necessarily a do-or-die game. Do-or-die game on Tuesday. Played last Wednesday. :dontknow: It's a balancing act. If Ronaldo plays 90 today and exhausts himself, it may reflect in Tuesday's performance. United can win out and win. At least it keeps the title race going, hopefully until the last day.
Chelsea wasn't fucking around. It was a clear penalty, just as the handball Wes Brown commited when Drogba took the ball down on his chest.
The Brown-Drogba exchange was not a clear penalty. I didn't see a good replay on the Carrick handball. Looked like a handball.
Could have won a penalty at the end. Had two balls cleared off the line. Pretty exciting game.
-
It will go to the last day. Wigan is going to tie United 1-1 and West Ham will beat United 1-0. Chelsea will tie 1-1 with Bolton and lose 2-0 to Newcastle, while Arsenal will win thier remaining 3 games and take the title to the Emirates
:dontknow:
-
You're a good supporter ELITE. ;)
I'll have to look at the highlights.. anyways, Ronaldo got subbed on late?
-
Yes. Had a shot cleared off the line.
-
Fuck, sounds interesting.
I'm not too down by this, we still have a chance and I saw this coming unfortunately.
-
Im not a man united supporter but i didnt think that ball hit carricks arm at the end
Newcastle till i die
-
The Chelsea groundsmen got in a fight with our players and disturbed our training session, fucking cocksuckers.. and Drogbra knees Vidic right in the face and then acts like he got hit in the back, wow. Vida's tooth is in his lip.
Drogba was fighting with Ballack for the freekick, and even after he continued to fight with him. What's he trying to do? Even when they had a quick water break he starts yelling at Ballack.
Anyways, Carrick had a clear handball, but what about Carrick's chance at Chelsea's end? That should have been a penalty no doubt. And how lucky can Chelsea get to clear 2 shots off the line.
Rooney and Vida better be ready.. we'll need them.
I said I wasn't pissed but after seeing the highlights, I am.. I want to meet Chelsea in the CL finals now.
-
Haha. Go look at the replay again. Carrick comes in with his elbow into Ballack I think. He leans into the defender looking for the foul.
Drogba did not mean to knee Vidic in the face; apparently he was angry with the ref because he did not stop play so Vidic could recieve treatment. It wasn't a dirty game; it was played with good sportsmanship.
-
haha chelsea has never lost at home since five years. there is no team i hate more then man utd
-

Oh really? Judging by the replay I seen it looked like Drogba tried to act like he was fouled..
-
Watch it one more time. Drogba is about to dive. After maybe half a second of acting like he is in pain, he immediately looks at Vidic, and then waves on the medics and calls the ref out to stop the game. If you deny that this is true, then you really aren't watching the replay.

Arsenal 6-2 Derby
Van Persie, Bendtner, Adebayor (3), Walcott
Alright, so far my prediction is going good. Arsenal is 6 points away from the title. Chelsea needs to tie or lose twice (or a combination of both), and United must lose both of thier last games or tie one. They cannot win or tie them both. So this is highly unlikely. But I like to make myself feel better and say that ARSENAL WILL STILL WIN THE LEAGUE.
-
6-2 what a dry bumming lol
it must be truely embarresing paying to see your team lose by 6 or 7 goals like they have done against the top teams. and the hattrick will do wonders for my weekly fantasy football team

haha yes will give me a couple more points, adebayor came off the bench to score 3
-
Haha, I have Adebayor too. Good result for Arsenal, don't know about the title hopes though.
-
Germany have a trust for perfection
Ballack is old and overpaid and overrated. Its just the truth.
The man has stepped up big time for Chelsea. To be honest, he's the reason they are back in the title race. Come on Ballack! :rockit:
-
Ballack has been rediculous in the past few months. Hope he can help bring the two trophies to London
-
Ronaldo 1-0
3rd minute
-
Early goals are always good.
I'm predicting a 3-0 United win or 3-1.
-
Ronaldo 2-0. (intentionally) turned a cross in with his right thigh
24th
-
Haha, classic goal, nice cross from Hargo.
-
3-0 Tevez
:saywhat:
-
Wow! What a goal, the West Ham fans are speechless.
5-0?
-
3-1 Ashton. Great goal.
What the fuck?
-
Damn, maybe we'll just stick with my 3-1 prediction.
-
Nani sent off
That was stupid
-
Atleast if you're going to hit him, do it harder. No, I'm only joking.
I don't know what he was trying to do..
-
Carrick 4-1
-
Hells yeah!
When do Chelsea play?
-
Monday
-
Nani is a terrible player.
Ronaldo leaves another victim helpless with broken ankles before scoring that first goal. Power to him.
-
it was a great first goal, though. Nani just lost so much of my respect.
-
Fulham are out of the relegation zone
Brian Mcbride
-
didn't see the game how was nani's tackle?
-
It was more of a headbutt. :dontknow:
-
I hope Fulham finds a way to remain out of relegation. McBride is enormous for that team. Without him they aren't half the team.
Ashton's goal is probably the goal of the season. What a bike! :rockit:
-
And Ballack saves Chelsea again vs Newcastle. Title race, last weekend!
-
Ah fuck it's going to be a good one.. nervousness.
-

Ballack > Lampard, Drogba, and any other Chelsea player.
The Germans have come back to England to dominate once again! :boxing:
-
The Germans and not only them, whoever goes over there becomes "the greatest". I wonder is there a club in England like Athletic Bilbao in Spain....Arsenal for sure or maybe it was Chelsea, don't remember which one of them has two and which three English players
-
United, Chelsea, and Fulham are all 1-0 up.
-
sweet United gon' stattttteeeee (more like national title, but still)
-
United 2-0 (Giggs).
-
whp scored the first?
-
Ronaldo (pk)
-
I see...sweet though, that gives the devils the title
-
Fulham stays up. Derby, Birmingham City, and Reading go down.
United should win the title.
Bolton equalize.
-
Bolton equalize? lol aren't they playing Chelsea?
-
Yes
-
wow Chelsea has given up hope
-

Sorry, but it's a great day today. "The Last Day".
Thank God there's the Euros this summer.
-
I am so pumped for the euros
-
congratulations man utd, but middlesbrough-man city 8-1!!! 7goals in the last 30 min :saywhat:
-
Yeah I heard about that. If Sven isn't sacked yet, surely this will make the owner not hesitate anymore.
-
united win their 17 league title, they are not far from braking liverpools record of 18 titles. liverpool are shit how could they let a lead like this go away.liverpool have not one the league for almost 20 year.
liverpools pride is on the line next season, they must win the title to remain in front of united.
-
Giggs goal was good
-
Congrats to Man U and Chelsea. Both made a terrific run at it.
I'm also happy for Fulham for staying up. McBride came back just in time.
-
Stop putting boring posts up Adi. I don't think anyone cares whether you think Chelsea and Man.Utd made a terrific run at it
-
Ahaha bashing your own friend. ;)
Have you seen all the art we've made with Adi's photos?
-
okay boys stay on topic
btw i have an idea of locking this thread until like a week before the seasons starts and open an off-season thread for all the recap of the season and the predictions for next season
-
thats a good idea...that way we wouldn't have tons of OT crap during the summer.
Also, it would allow the longest thread to become the real longest thread
-
yeah but for some reason i can't lock thread anymore
thats bad
i feel so controlled i should have the rights to lock my own threads
-
I didnt even know you could do that. Probably because its a sticky subject, though

The season's over..
Just keep this one open until the last week of July and then we'll open a new one.
-
why open a new one?
what happens to this one?
and again why?
-
I guess it's been tradition.. I don't know haha, I've always seen a new one appear once there was a new season.
Fresh start I guess.
-
We'll start a new when the new season is about to start.
We can still use this thread for off season changes.

the premiership finished in an exciting manor going down to the final day. this is good considering the way it was decided last season. im dissapointed of course being an arsenal fan but we shall be better next year
-
Let's welcome Hull to the Premiership. They just beat Bristol City in the Playoff final.
-
I wonder if they'll do better than Derby..
-
seems to be a tradition of the 3rd teams that get promoted to go straight back down. suprised preston didnt make the playoffs this season since they've failed to win the play offs 3 seasons in a row now. the loss of david nugent shouldnt have meant that they finished in the bottom half.
2 welsh teams in the championship next season too!
-
I wonder if they'll do better than Derby..
Rofl  Who all got promoted apart from Hull?
-
Stoke and West Brom.
-
yeah
West Brom will have the best chance of survival as they have EPL experience
Hull i believe will make a fight of it but will get thge last relegation spot
as Stoke get relegated and do better than Derby but still finish last
-
I wonder if they'll do better than Derby..
haha i dont think anyone can do worse than they did. and most of the time the team that wins the playoff to win promotion gets relagated
-
Arsenal for the Premiership IF and when Arsene realises he needs a deeper squad.

-
i doubt they can the prem is so tough now. even reading who had a decent season struggled. same with birmingham
-
yea true because the prem clubs r owned by so many millionaires who have money coming out of every hole on them
i hope they can survive for at least a season
