Post by: manutd. on Sep 16, 2008, 06:35: AM
Well it officially kicked off today, and it's going well.

Sergio Aguero scored the first goal of the tournament with 9 minutes in for Atletico Madrid.

All the Live Scores are here: http://www1.uefa.com/live/competitions/ucl/matchday=1/day=1/match=302697/index.html

Tevez and Ferdinand what a chance!  :saywhat:

Good game so far, and around the CL the scores are looking not too bad.

Seems like Ronaldo is going to come on soon, and hopefully Sir Alex will get the message from the fans to put him on. :)

Ronaldo to Rooney to Tevez, cleared off the line! :(

Why did Nihat not play this is an outrage, he would have scored a hatrick on United.

Arsenal where lucky to salvage a draw and Liverpool where quiet lucky as well. Fener lost 3-0 wtf is wrong with Aragunes. Roma hahahaha don't know what to say.

Inter, Chelsea, Real, Juve, Atletico, Porto and Barcelona looked comfortable.

Arsenal have lost in thier past 3 visits to the Ukraine, so this really isn't as bad of a result as many people think. Of course, a tie with Kiev isn't a good result, but it's bearable. Leave it to Gallas to score a late winner

Just like against United a while ago? (Last year, I think?)

United have played Villarreal 3 times and tied them 0-0 all 3 times..

Fenerbahce played terrible defense, that's why they got smacked. Roberto Carlos looked like he was back to his best. Sensational defending!

Bayern started off with a 1-0 win. Very good especially with Fiorentina and Lyon tying. :rockit:

Yeah. I really hope ESPN shows it. I really doubt it though because they lose showing English teams play, even if they play some crap team.

Haha I feel your pain bro. It's been like that for years. I fkn HATE making sure being at the tele only to see baseball stretch through some quality footy.

I hate baseball. I'd rather watch paint dry.

Ahh!!!! Do you mean Sopcast or whatever? I've used that kinda program once to watch Real Madrid play Barca. Barely worth watchin on that shite!

All in all you could go for Setanta Sports online. I'd get it, but I am usually at work when games are on   :bang:
Title: Re: UEFA: Champion's League Group Stage
Post by: manutd. on Sep 22, 2008, 06:15: AM
SopCast is actually really good and it's definitely worth watching a big game on that. The connection is sometimes good, it depends on the host and whatnot. Last game, Manchester United v Chelsea, it didn't disconnect once and the quality was great.

You just gotta have the right channels and a DVR if you go to school.

See if you can get Gol TV and Fox Soccer World. With those channels you'll get all the leagues. Then you should have ESPN 2 and ESPN Classic for Champions League games. You can watch 4 games per matchday that way.

I have all those options and I record about 20 hours of good soccer games a week.
Title: Re: UEFA: Champion's League Group Stage
Post by: manutd. on Sep 22, 2008, 09:30: AM
Yeah I've got GolTV and Fox Soccer World, but not Fox Soccer Channel.

I have ESPN Classic but there aren't any Champion's League games?
Title: Re: UEFA: Champion's League Group Stage
Post by: Adi on Sep 22, 2008, 09:32: AM
Fox Soccer Channel is called Fox Soccer World in Canada. I think the game line up is pretty similar.

ESPN Classic shows Champions League games at 5 PM eastern time on game days. The games are on a 2 hour delay.

Regarding Fox, it's gotta be different. They said that Man Utd v Chelsea would be shown on FSC, but then when I checked the Channel Guide it didn't show Man Utd v Chelsea at all.

Thanks for filling me in, I didn't know that. It's a shame I can't get ESPN 2.

Do you have Setanta?

on my bros computer i have Sopcast and TVU player (all right) but then for tv i have just 3 sports channels and TheScore showed premier league action and highlights from around the world be4 but not any more cuz apparently the didnt have enough viewers. TSN is where i watch champs league tuesday/wed from 9pm-11 unless there is a boxing match on then the soccer game gets cancelled but the boxing match. Sportsnet is wher i watch premier league, one game a week and never a big game, always like newcastle and everton (example). They used to show 3 games every Sat but now they only show 1 every sat

Latest Scores:
CFR Cluj   0-0   Chelsea
Bordeaux   1-3   Roma
Anorthosis   3-1   Panathinaikos
Internazionale   1-1   Bremen
Sporting   2-0   Basel
Shakhtar   1-2   Barcelona
Liverpool   3-1   PSV
Atlético   2-1   Marseille

That Chelsea/CFR Cluj score looks questionable, I didn't see the game, but Chelsea's kit was ugly.

Inter draws with Bremen.

Liverpool aren't doing too bad at all in their group.

Retarded post. You think you know more about the game than SAF?

Man U needs a target man and Tevez is not it. Tevez and Rooney play different roles than Berbatov. I'm guessing you also think Nistelrooy is a lazy rapist?

Bayern tied Lyon 1-1. Shitty own goal by Demichelis and a crap first half, but the boys came to play in the second half.

Messi has been insane all season so far. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins over Ronaldo. Ronaldo's good form stopped at the end of last season, and he had a poor EURO. So far this season, he's been quiet. Messi has been rolling since last season.
