These guys are the ones that have bought and taken over Manchester City from the Malaysian Dr.Shinawatra whatever. Within hours of gaining full reigns to the club they immediately went to snap up Robinho for a EPL record transfer fee. The head man at the ADUG has seen to it that he wants to bring all the best players to Manchester City. He plans on buying Ronaldo for a record 160 million dollars and also is seeking Fabregas and Torres. They say this group has 10 times the amount of money Abramovic has and Abramovic is estimated to be worth nearly a billion (possibly more) not only that but Abramovic invested over 300million dollars in Chelsea.
I'm not even sure if this is a good thing. I have the feeling that they will buy everyone and no one will be able to refuse their high transfer fees and wages. I think it will become harder and harder to find young talent. I have a feeling that the game will turn into a fight between money.

What do you guys think?

I think that it is the worst thing that could possibly happen to soccer. I can only hope that players and clubs can have the backbone to say 'no' to the ridiculous amounts of money offered to them.
-
has already been like this for over a year now Foreigners buying prem clubs and paying redicolous amounts for players.
its like all these billionaires got hooked on to football manager and decided to buy their own clubs. these people are even investing in Championship clubs now. these people will get bored after a while and dump the clubs and then they will be left with stupidly high wages to pay meaning they will go into debt theres only a certain amount of times they can win things without getting bored and a lot of these people are very dodgey.

the key is salary caps imposed jointly bi FIFA, UEFA and the FA
the NHL had it right for once
-
did u know Ferrari bought a random like 3rd division team from god knows where and that makes that club the richest in the world
-
screw salary caps, players will never leave clubs.
can you tell me why it is so bad?
finally the big clubs will have seriouse challenges. and it will give falling teams a boost
-
how will it give falling teams a boost. this will just make this harder for them to buy talent because Man City will out buy them by 20mil $. How will all the big clubs have serious challenges if have their players are bought/sold. that makes it hard to get a team thats been together for a few years

unless players just stick to good old loyalty.

There is a reason why salary caps will not take place in england, becuase it has to go through european law , , it is differnt in america, It will never happen, sorry guys, Cant be arsed explaining it fully it was on the radio the other day guys

Salary caps are stupid as hell. I can't believe someone even mentioned that for soccer. Players have been getting paid large salaries for a long time now. That's not the issue. It's the transfer fees that are the problem. I don't care if a player gets over 100,000 pounds a week. I'm worried that owners are investing too much in transfer fees. Teams that are run by normal owners won't be able to turn down 30+ million offers. All the good players will be on a handful of teams and we'll have some sort of fantasy league then just for those teams. They need to change the way owners go about taking over teams. It should be done differently.

Well said Adi. I have a similar opinion. I don't mind people investing money in football or any sport for that matter, I certainly don't mind players being payed big money either. The thing I do not mind, but actually hate is that people like this guy treat these clubs as their toys and as Chunkie said, once they get bored with it, they'll just sell it and won't give a fuck anymore...
