Its the beginning of the new season and there have been changes in all the dressing room, how will that effect the team and where will everyone finish come end of the season?
we will have to wait and see!
Spanish Primera División 2008/2009 Opening Fixtures:
Athletic Bilbao VS Almeria
Numancia VS Barcelona
Osasuna VS Villarreal
Real Betis VS Recreativo Huelva
Deportivo La Coruña VS Real Madrid
Racing Santander VS Sevilla FC
Sporting Gijon VS Getafe
Atlético Madrid VS Málaga

Valencia VS Mallorca
there are many question to be asked such as:
Can Almeria continue their good form in the La Liga like last season as they face Bilbao who are also relegation candidates?
Can Barcelona cope with the loss of Ronaldinho and will the La Liga?
Will Madrid go all the way and win the title despite not signing C.Ronaldo and Sniejder injured?

Good first post there Tito.
I honestly think the Ronaldinho transfer will not make an entirely huge difference on Barcelona. Barca will finish 2nd to Madrid though.
Villa = Transfer OUT to United! (comeee on)
Stickied.

Xavi Confident Of Barça Success
After finishing last season on a huge high by winning the European Championships with Spain and being named as player of the tournament, Xavi Hernandez is confident of success at club level this year with Barcelona…
Xavi, Hleb, Iniesta and Yaya Toure in mid along with Messi and Bojan in Attacking mid or wind position theres no reason why they can't win the league specially with the mood at the bernabuea souring but their only problem is defense.
Can you see teams like Athletico Madrid, Villareal, Valencia and Sevilla step up their game and make the La Liga the dominate force in European football?
Good first post there Tito.
thanks i'm going to try to make this thread the best of all

Man U 1st

Valencia 3 - 0 Mallorca
David Villa
Mata
David Silva
Good game by Valencia, a lot of nice 1 touch passing.
-
Looks like they aren't getting as unlucky anymore. Both of David Villa's goals required some lucky bounces. They got none of those last season. And Silva is a beast. Top 5 midfielder right now in the world.
-
true that he has a great left foot
-
Numancia 1 - 0 Barcelona
Mario from Numancia had a great goal and Messi was so close to scoring on a freekick late in the game to tie it up but he hit the post.. unlucky.
Hleb also got subbed on..
-
Barca tends tp have moments of weakness where they let the opponent make a run though the middle and send a ball through so that the only one who is left to clean up in front of the goal is Puyol. And the guy is only mortal, seriously...
-
Marid also lose 2-1 to Depativo La Corna what a curse they have against them
-
So many upsets this weekend..
Madrid
Barca
Inter
AC Milan
Chelsea (draw)
Liverpool(draw)

They dominate the play and push up too many players. The other team sits back and hits them on the counter every time. The only midfielder ever back is Toure, as well as the two center backs. The fullbacks are way the hell up and the rest of the team is pinging the ball around the box. Seriously, they are going to keep getting fucked if they play like this. They are making the same mistakes Madrid used to make 3 years ago. No discipline right now and they are not doing anything with their chances. That Henry cunt has to go as well. What a waste of space.

He should just go back to Arsenal. Yeah I watched some of the game and was disappointed. There were a ton of upsets this weekend fo' sho
-
the barca coach is stuffed up, he would preffer henry instead of eto'o. and borg inter only draw we didn't lose
-
Oh right sorry, Juventus tied as well so none of the big names in Italy got a head start.
-
but there are still many more games left, but it would be nice to get every point from every game
-
how strange, villa staying at valencia, i thought he was bound to go, and arshavin staying at zenit :S
-
No surprise that Madrid lost; they havn't won in that stadium for 19 years. So I don't see any signs for concern.
-
I remember them saying that before the match started. It's hard to believe that a team can't win for 19 years in that stadium. Makes me think it's more mental than anything else. It's obviously not the quality, and it's not like Deportivo has the best fans in the world.
-
true that,
if you want an intimidating atmosphere and stadium it's definetly the mestella valencia's home
almost all the players said its the worst stadium to play away in. known for it steep terences that feel like a prison to players

Barcelona VS Racing Santander
Valladolid VS Atlético Madrid
Sevilla FC VS Sporting Gijon
Málaga VS Athletic Bilbao
Villarreal VS Deportivo La Coruña
Mallorca VS Osasuna
Getafe VS Real Betis

True but it almost never happens when you say this. I think it happened about once or twice you've said this. Put $20 on the line every time you want to make a post like that.

Barca and Madrid will will this week
i grantee it

 nice adi
boya you fools
i said it and barca drew but madrid won (bad and good at the same time)
EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

Guti has a rediculous game, great passing by him
-
he also score the 5000th goal at the benubeau
-
what a milestone.
is that a record because it is a lot
-
I really hope Barça win La Liga this year but i'm rather sceptical since Real Madrid looks strong and Barça haven't convinsed in the two first games. To defense Barça and to get a positive thought in my post i would like to say that we have met the two most cynical (right spelled?) shit teams that plays anti-football. Hopefully Barça will convinse in the next games.
The thing Barça need is a Ronaldinho in shape or a right winger in world class. No one is better than Ronaldinho in shape but i don't t think he would have been that in Barça. Now we need to focus on a new one. Difficult to choose, but Hleb ain't good enough that's for sure.
-
Hleb is a clown for leaving Arsenal. Look where he ends up; hurt and ineffective!
-
Barcelona is not playing enough team defense. They get countered too much. :boxing:
Guti is damn good right now but he still has his shit games. When he's off, he really is a bad player. It's either an excellent or crap game for him... no in between usually.
-
he is a hot and cold player, i love seeing him in the UCL he is usually hot then

Agreed but i think the key for barca to win games is the attack. They're not as well organized as before and they don't have any good left winger. Hleb is far from good enough. In our home matches; Most team will be defensive and going for counter attack and then we have to be more dangerous before the goal.
-
or they need to make sure they finish of any chance given
-
REAL MADRID
We won :) I'm really happy...GO GO Madrid!
-
It was a messy game but Madrid did what they had to do. Ruud didn't touch the ball for the entire game and then somehow scores in the end.
I hope Guti is OK. He looked in pain.
Barcelona also bounced back with a 6-1 win. Henry didn't start.
-
¡¡¡¡Hala Madrid!!!! 7 -1 on sporting
-
Eto looks to be key in Barca, and the coach was saying i dont need him
this coach is getting fucked over left right and centre

true...and Barca is a democratic organization, so there may well be an overhaul...

Barca is getting back into the groove. Madrid drew which puts the into 4th.
Villareal and Valencia up top.
-
I'm hoping to see Barca at the top soon enough...these next few games will be crucial if the don't want to be in a pressured situation at the end of the season...Villareal and Valencia are playing well though
-
could this year be the year of the underdog,
not on Madrids watch. i am desperate to see a barca game to check the way they play
-
I want Valencia or Villareal to win it.
And I think one of them will do it, or come second..
-
ohh madrid...i dont know what they gonna reach this year, but i think they are better than barca..at least now...
we'll see who is better 14th December:)
-

Hala Madrid
-
Van der Vaart is so damn good now. It's really unbelievable how much he sets his team mates up. He did it with Holland yesterday again. He got both of the assists. :saywhat:

-
yeah moby i missed u:D
and barca could beat atletico 6-1....but who cares? that just means atletico was sh*t, and not that barca is so good...if they beat 5teams in a row each with 5goals....than barca is the bestXD
-
Barca will win it.
-
Barca will win it.
thats right
-
Another 5-0 win for Barca. They were up 5-0 in the first half.
-
Yeh, they had some weird substitutions in the second half as well. It seems like they didn't have enough offence according to them because they kept taking off defence and added offensive players.
-
whatever barca is raping now
watch out Bernabeu
-
ohh sh*t they will win 5matches each with 5goals if they go on like this:D cant believe that:S but i just cant wait to see real-barca....
-
I'm so pumped for that game
theres no way Barca is gonna lose
this is there year
-

the future is not now and when those player fully develop Madrid will sign better players by then and will remain better its not like the current squads will freeze for the next 20 years

I don't know how Madrid will sign better players than Barca's young ones thats virtually impossible
Bojan is 18, and Eto'o is only 23 I think..thats REALLY young
Xavi is 26 I believe which should give his another 8 years, and iniesta is 29, which means that he'll have to be replaced (there is a really good winger who I saw place against the Boca Juniors at Campe Nou named Jeffen...he is 19-20, so...)
and then of course theres Messi...

NO!! he claims hes 27, I personally think hes lying about his age, I remember him been around forever first time I seen him play was around 98, plus hes always looked the same as he does today.
Its impossible to sign better players then Barcelona current 'youngsters'? What else can you tell me from the future? *Waits for TF10 to turn it into a joke about his god like powers* sorry dawg u made urself sound like a fool.
-
I can see into the future because of my godlike powers
ok maybe eto'o is 27...but my point still stands
oh also Alves is really young
-
no sir, Arsenal does
do I need to make a list?
(referencing 2 and a half men)
Yeah, you can make your list of Bojan and Messi.
-
as good as they are Totalfootball10 in the future there not going to be the best in the world
-
Barca won 4-1 today, a very messy game, was funny to watch.
-
by the looks of it today
in the future arsenal will be controling world football,
-
believe in 2-3 years time some of the player will feel they are bigger then the club, tensions will flair up and everyone will move
plus whens the last time a player stayed with a club for a long time (full career) not every player is like Totti, Gary Neville, Raul etc
-

Man you are so off with your ages.
Iniesta = 24
Eto'o = 27
Xavi = 28
Xavi has 2-4 years of top football left in him. He'll probably leave Barcelona when he's 30, 31 tops. Eto'o has been around forever, I don't know how you thought he was only 23?! Iniesta is a young player and only 24. You somehow thought he was the oldest out of the bunch?

no my dad expects me to be doing work
but actually he is really cool, just doesn't want me sitting in front of the tv screen all day, which I would be if I got channels like setanta and goltv
both my parents are humanities professors, so reading is the preferred pastime in my house, although my dad is a martial artist and supports my soccer

Barca has been my favorite team since I started following soccer
Man U is my favorite in the EPL, but if Barca plays vs. Man U, I cheer for Barca
Blaugrana are too sick

you must have been angry last year
I was
you're baiting me, aren't you
but all that anger evaporated when I went to a Barca game in August and witnessed Xavi and Eto'o dismantle the Boca Juniors in the final 4 minutes
to be honest, henry was fairly lacklustre that game, held onto the ball for way too long
-
1-0 Villareal....
aw so you rate Henry poorly because of a game you went and saw..it's ok, one day you'll realize he was the second best striker since 1998
-
1-1 :cursing:
-
2-1 win for barca
who would you rate to be the best striker since 1998? Ronaldo?
-
Yes
but mostly, Ronaldo = 1995- 2005

The title race may be nearly over, but there is still hope for Real Madrid, as they have cut the gap on Barcelona to 10 points by thumping Sporting Gijon 4-0. Record-breaking Raul helped himself to a brace, and Huntelaar scored his first goal for the club.

HE PASSED IT TO THE ESPANYOL PLAYER WHILE ALVES (i think it was alves) WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM AND GAVE HIM THE GOAL
He also should've caught that cross on the first goal, but he was out of position
