Title: England: Premier League
Post by: manutd. on Jul 18, 2008, 10:04: AM
Okay, let's get this going.

Major Topics:

I think Chelsea have done really well getting Scolari, Deco, and Bosingwa..the title race will be really close, but I think it will be somewhat like this:
1. United (By 1 point, the final day)
2. Chelsea (Tied in points with Arsenal)
3. Arsenal
4. Liverpool (barely making it over Manchester City)
5. Manchester City
6. Tottenham
7. Everton
..
..
18. Stoke
19. Hull
20. West Brom

I see Chelsea winning it this year followed up by a strong Liverpool at second.
Risky thing to say I know. No doubt if this doesn't happend I'll be hearing it over but if it does happend you better all recognize me as a genius of some sort  :pimp:

Haha oLi.

You've really thrown yourself out there by saying Liverpool coming second. We have completely different views on them lol.

I think Chelsea will make a great run at it like they always do.. United v Chelsea for sure.

Post by: GiNDEV on Jul 20, 2008, 05:24: AM
I think Arsenal will win this year. Chelsea will come second with minimal difference. Man Utd will be 3rd, because Ronaldo won't play like last season. Man City will come 4th and Liverpool 5th. :)
Stoke, Hull and West Brom - relegated.

That's how I see it :D

lol no1 believes in the new teams

Im gonna say at least one new team will stay in the Prem

Arsenal win
Chelsea
Man U
Liv (tied on points with ManU)
Tottenham

I only put Liverpool 4th if Torres can keep up the goals. If not then Tottenham will take away Liv's Big Four title

Tottenham will be very interesting this season. They got a strong midfield after picking up Modris, Bentley, and Dos Santos. Their defense is still questionable though.

Bayern's Hoeness fuels Abramovitch's mafia links

Bayern Munich's general manager Uli Hoeness on Thursday launched an amusing tirade against Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's attempts to use his financial muscle to turn the London club into world beaters.

'I'm annoyed when I go each week to fill up with petrol. This petrol mafia are taking the money I need to give to my players,' Hoeness told German sports website www.spox.com.

'I'm disgusted and it's because of Mr Abramovich.'

'This mafia rule the world and manipulate the price of petrol,' added Hoeness.

'We have to beat teams like Chelsea on the pitch - that will be our compensation,' said Hoeness, a former Bayern player and German international.

Arsenal 1-0 West Brom today to kick off the season.

Samir Nasri with Arsenal's opener and looked very promising on the field. Walcott looked sharp, Adebayor's finishing touch was lacking a little bit. Even Bendtner looked OK. Arsenal was without Fabregas, Rosicky, and Senderos/Toure (though he made an appearance for a few minutes).

Missed the first day, because of a tournament, but here are the scores..

Arsenal   1-0 West Bromwich Albion
Bolton Wanderers 3-1 Stoke City
Everton   2-3 Blackburn Rovers
Hull City 2-1 Fulham
Middlesbrough 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur
West Ham United   2-1 Wigan Athletic
Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool

[premierleague.com]

Good result for Hull. I'm surprised Liverpool's and Arsenal's goal tallies were so low but maybe they had tons of chances.

And Chelsea's 4-0 win is just the start of their 3 trophies this season. Count on it!

Poor Bojinov. He just now got back from his year long knee injury, and he already has another serious injury. He tore his achillies during warm ups. That's two serious injuries in 2 years and both happened during warm-ups.

Chelsea looked very poor after Deco's incredible freekick.

Arsenal got beat by Fulham!

And Liverpool had a very nice comeback against Middlesbrough. Middlesbrough should've gotten at least a point out of that match.

Tottenham continues to suck big balls. I remember the thread about them breaking into the top 4 this season. I guess that won't happen again. Now they are weak up front as well without Berbatov and Keane. They also have a massive hole in the defensive midfield position. You can't be playing with Modric and Bentley in the center of the park. Who is going to hold for those guys? Zokora wouldn't be bad but he was playing at right back.

Arsenal played some of the best football I've ever seen them play. Everyone was getting involved and Van Persie was sharp! Gallas should have had an easy goal but he somehow managed to blast it over the goal. Hell, even Toure was blasting top class shots from outside of the box.

Why was Martins not playing today? Even though Newcastle got scored on three times today, Coloccini is a hell of a signing. He's a rock back there.

Chelsea look set to be without Michael Essien for the rest of the year after it was confirmed the midfielder would need surgery on a knee injury.

The 25-year-old suffered the problem while on international duty and was stretched off in the game between Ghana and Libya on Friday night.

He had missed the start of Chelsea's Premier League season because of injury and had only recovered last week.

A club statement read: "Michael has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and will undergo an operation as soon as the majority of the swelling has subsided. We expect this to happen in a week's time.

Yes, he works hard but please don't tell me he's more important to the team than Gerrard or Torres. Mascherano works his ass off as well but you don't consider him in the same group.

On another note, does nobody here care about Essien's ACL tear? It's a huge injury and nobody is really talking about it.

Manchester United, once again nothing without Cristiano Ronaldo. 2-1 loss to Liverpool! Babel scored what I believe was the winner. Arsenal beat Blackburn 4-0 on an Adebayor hattrick. It's about time he's come back. Liverpool moves into first place with Arsenal right behind them.

And now the game of the weekend; Manchester City vs Chelsea

Robinho played rather poor today. SWP on the other hand was very good. He worked damn hard and made things happen. That Jo character was poor as well. He needs to get off his lazy ass and start working. He has better skill than Adebayor and could be better if he could only improve him movement and work rate.

Either way, Man City got a nice wake up call. They are not in the top 4 yet.

Terry got sent off for Chelsea. I think it was a bit harsh because he wasn't the last man. He will not miss the match against Man U if their appeal doesn't go through.

Big result for Arsenal and Liverpool.

It was actually 2-1, Adi.

But I don't think Robinho played poor at all; sure he had a few misplaced passes, but doesn't everyone? He set up a few nice plays as well. And that was really Jo's second premierleague game, so you can't expect them to come out, especially against Chelsea, and produce magic. Although Robinho's freekick was so money

I didn't see Benjani; is he injured? Petrov and Elano also didn't feature; it wasn't really City's strongest side.

Thought his freekick was quite poo. The only reason it didn't go softly into Cech's chest was because of the deflection.

I really thought Robinho was poor. SWP was much better than him. Robinho did lots of unnecessary shit to be honest and didn't get his passes anywhere. He got through once on a lucky ball bounce.

And I'm also wondering why Elano didn't play. He was laughing prior to the game on the bench. :dontknow:
Title: Re: The English Premier League
Post by: ^_^ on Sep 15, 2008, 01:53: AM
Wright Phillips did have an excellent game, but let's not compare a winger with 5+ years experience on the wings of the premier league to a debutant, and a Brasilian one at that (used to a more skillful approach to the game in spain). It's a more direct game in England; I think he'll catch on.

Anyway, lets not argue about this. Robinho is class and it was the match of the weekend because he was debuting.

Watching the Arsenal vs. Bolton game on delay right now. 2-1 to Arsenal in the 85th minute.

I hope nothing serious happened to Clichy. He was taken to the hospital for scans.

Nice two back-to-back goals by Arsenal after going down 1-0.

EDIT: Make that 3-1 for Arsenal. Goal by Denilson. He's been doing very good so far this season. He continuously gets assists and today he got a goal and an assist. He seems to be doing more than Fabregas at the moment.

Anyone else note Walcott's run on that third goal!?  I knew they had been hyping him up after his England hattrick and Wenger was resting him from the start after a busy week; but man did he make an amazing run to set up Adebayor who set up Eboue. He made an immediate impact on the game and I must say Walcott was amazing in the 14 minutes he played. Bendtner looks much improved too. His touch was smooth and he made good linkup plays with Ade.

Good win, and top of the table for now.

And look at the time of possession:  29%  71% to Arsenal. That's amazing.

Newcastle has insanely serious problems; they need a whole new set of players.

City is beating Portsmouth 4-0 with about 20 minutes left. Robinho, Jo, SWP all on target; SWP's goal was sick. The team is looking pretty strong, I must say.

Everton 0 - 2 Liverpool
Aston Villa 2 - 1   Sunderland
Fulham 1 - 2 West Ham
Man Utd 2 - 0   Bolton
Middlesbrough 0 - 1 West Brom
Newcastle   1 - 2    Blackburn
Stoke City 0 - 2   Chelsea
Arsenal 1 - 2 Hull City

Hull beat Arsenal very big result for Hull City I was expecting something like this tho, just had a feeling. Hull would played a physical game, defended well and capitalized when the opportunities came. Kind of reminded me of Bolton Wonderers from a couple of years ago, they didn't allow Fabragas and Walcott dominate the game.

As for United once again the cowards where given a phantom penalty again this is always happening at Old Trafford its getting me suspicious. Samuel got the ball and Ronaldo as always made a meal of it and went down like the filthy cheat he is. The referee should be punished because it was not a penalty and it couldn't have been any more clear. That was the goal that ruined it for Bolton.

 :nopity:

Another win for Chelsea.

Nice game by Rooney. He's in nice form right now.

Arsenal dropped points again. They scored in the 90+ minute to get a tie. I'm telling you, the lack of a strong defensive midfielder will cost them. They got too many little guys that attack in the midfield. Even when Nasri and Rosicky come back, it's just going to strengthen their attack but weaken them defensively.

Good save by Fabregas; i'm laughing at how Arsenal let Diarra go last season..he's doing very well at portsmouth and is exactly what Arsenal needs. William Gallas has cost Arsenal a few goals and points already this season. He's just an OK defender to be honest. Toure should be captaining the side.

i'm noticing that a lot of the "smaller" teams are stepping up hard this season. this is shaping up to be a great season, especially since Liverpool is actually competing with the rest of the top four.

I miss the good Gallas. As of late he's just not doing well....he's making stupid fouls etc.  He'll be ok for 90% of the match and one mistake overshadows it all.

It's nice seeing Fabregas put one in.... too bad it was to save Arsenal's ass.

Although I'm not a Reds fan - It's nice to see Rooney back in scoring mode (hopefully he can continue his goal scoring form for WCQ).

for Man U v Albion game all I can say is that the first half was fantastic from Albion's point of view. Not only that but they played well and didnt give up, the score line doesnt tell the real story. And am i the only one that realizes just how much ass kissing the commentators do of Man Utd (rooney+Ronaldo ) in particular

Arsenal played well and were mentally strong enough to come from behind

the score line doesnt tell the real story

When you say that, you have to talk about the whole game, not just the first half. United killed WBA in the 2nd half, so yes in fact, the scoreline does tell the story. WBA did play a very strong first half and were really good. I do believe however that Rooney's goal should have counted.

And am i the only one that realizes just how much ass kissing the commentators do of Man Utd (rooney+Ronaldo ) in particular

Yeah, they tend to do that a lot, but this is one of the best partnership's in the world, they aren't going to go unnoticed.

AHAHAHAHAHA GO STOKE

I watched the full game and it more or less was like this

Stoke 2 - 1 Tottenham
2 Red cards for Tot
2 Penalties for Stoke (1 scored the other hit 2 posts before bouncing out only to be rifled against the bar)
4 posts hit (all by stoke)
3 goals

Funny scenario coming up:
Delap puts in a long throw and Gomes comes out to meet it with a punch that bounces to the opposite touchline for another Stoke throw-in. But when Gomes jumped he kneed Corluka in the chest. After a minute or so Corluka comes back on. At this time Stoke have gotten another throw-in on the very first side which Delap will whip in to the box. Gomes comes out to meet it and punches it out. THIS time he knees Corluka in the face knocking him unconscious and he was motionless on the field for 8/9 min then got stretchered off to an ambulance.

Now I like Corluka because Im Croatian and I was worried about him but I found that hilarious seeing as it almost seems as though Gomes was trying to hurt him and the first time didnt work.

Possibly my favorite game in a while

Hull City sitting in 3rd right now. Who would've thought that?! :rockit:

My prediction of Chelsea winning 3 trophies this season is still looking good. I don't think I've ever seen them play better than this.

Man U is back on form as well. Ronaldo makes the difference so the commentators should be allowed to suck his balls. The same goes for Rooney. I know a lot of you hate him, and I'm not his biggest fan either (he's English), but damn is he playing well right now.

Tottenham sucks nuts as well. What a joke. Those player should be held responsible. I don't know what the deal with Ramos is either. On the sidelines and during post-game interviews, he acts like the team is sitting in 1st place. All come like it's no big deal. Maybe he needs a wake up call. Yell at those cunts and get them to play at least half way up to their potential. Maybe they'll win a game then.

On the sidelines and during post-game interviews, he acts like the team is sitting in 1st place. All come like it's no big deal. Maybe he needs a wake up call. Yell at those cunts and get them to play at least half way up to their potential. Maybe they'll win a game then.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I watched the game in it's entirety and i thnk it's fair to say that Reina didn't make one big save. Chelsea performed poorly. Riera was actually brilliant on the wing, the few times i've watched him play he's been excellent.

In other news, Arsenal 2-0 West Ham :rockit:

:hello: That's me waving good-bye to Arsenal's season. What noobs.

Chelsea is too good. I tell ya, they will win the league. I still stand by my prediction that they'll win the treble.

Liverpool should never have lost to Tottenham. Liverpool hit the crossbar twice and the post as well. Redknapp has brought some luck with him.

That had red written all over it; the intent was more than there; he obviously wasn't going to get the ball.

For the first time, i've seen articles criticizing Wenger...rightly so; this whole "youth movement" needs to be reinforced with a good captain, a better goalkeeper (christ Almunia during the Tottenham game was :bang: ), and a defensive midfield player who is not 15. If Arsenal was able to get these three things, they would be more than title contenders. Walcott's season has been insane, the kid has been electrifying the outside midfield position.

Chelsea are unstopable; the games between Chelsea and Arsenal/Man U are going to be intense as hell.

Arsenal should have held on to Diarra under the right guidence the boy could have be come a class act in DM.

As for all of those who are talking about Chelsea tieing with United and losing to Pool, remember we are still without several major players. Liverpool scored once and defended the whole game even tho Chelsea was in a bad shape. And still we manage to stay top of the ladder. When Drogba, Ballack and Essien return do you think Chelsea can be stopped. United struggling with Hull and Liverpool with Tottenham and Stoke camon man.

That's the only setback. Liverpool and United did well against the top 4. (Liverpool did the best.) Chelsea's games were both home.. so all I'm saying is, you haven't won the title yet and there is still big away games you have to play.

I think United is in a good spot because we got Anfield and Stamford out of the way.

You say we have problems look at yourself first , your games against the 3 best teams ( im including the Roma game here)you've played so far this season no wins and 2 losses 2 of which were at home, thats a pretty shabby record in big games for someone who wants to challenge for trophies, and i'd be worried about away games against big teams considering your abyssmal performance against Roma tonight

Win or loose to Roma it doesn't matter we still top our CL group, win or loose to Pool doesn't matter we still top the EPL. I explained in my other post about how we are missing major players, new coach, new system, players like Deco, Cole, Carvalliho not being 100% I think its amazing that Chelsea is still dominating their CL group and EPL. Will worry about big game against big teams when the time comes as for now theres nothing to worry about.

That's a dumb thing to say; 6 out of 38 games are played against the top four. Even if United do "well" vs the top four, they can't afford to struggle vs Hull and Stoke or whatever. If Chelsea loses all 6 games vs the other top teams, they'll still have more than enough 5-0 wins to compensate.
Title: Re: England: Premier League
Post by: manutd. on Nov 04, 2008, 10:28: AM
United aren't struggling against bad teams. You think Hull is bad? Their promotion year and they were 3rd for so long, they're like Hoffenheim. We should have buried them, but a mental breakdown caused them to comeback. Things like that happen though.

Those 5-0 wins won't help Chelsea if they are losing against the top 4, because rarely is Liverpool and Man Utd going to give up  more points to those smaller teams, and if Chelsea lose to the top 4, then United, Arsenal and Liverpool will just gain points over them and catch up.

It's not like United aren't missing some key players. Scholes, Carrick, Hargreaves, Ronaldo, van der sar ... have all been or are injured this season.

Anyways, I don't see Liverpool winning the PL. They rode thier luck on few occasions and have looked better this year but I feel come Jan/Feb we'll see Chelsea and United battleing for the title once again.

As far as Arsenal goes, I can't stand how Wenger always whines after a defeat how the opposition didn't want to play, was too physical, defended with 10 men bla bla bla. Well, no shit motherfeucker! The fact is that there are teams who due to their limited talent adopted a more physical aproach to the game, no news flash there. Instead him trying to learn from his defetas he just bitches all the time.

After the Stoke game Wenger said that they played with 10 men in their final third for the whole 90 minutes. Well, I have to say i didn't see the goals but they must have been some cracking 90 yeard shots! How else does a team who spent 90 min's in their own half score two goals on the opposite end?

I'm not defending the teams that "refuse to play", but I'm just saying he needs to learn how to deal with it and get a plan B in case the opposition are playing hard defensive football. Just like Chelsea, United and all the other "big" teams who tend to actually play attacking football did ages ago.

Title: Re: England: Premier League
Post by: Sule on Nov 04, 2008, 02:19: PM
problem with that is that the EPL is introducing its one-dimensional gameplan, the long ball. Wenger wants to show the youth that his style of play is still superior.
Stoke is a rough, long ball team. Arsenal is striving to be the opposite

Unfortunately, as an Arsenal fan I find myself defending Wenger more times than I'm praising him.

EPL is all about lots of running, hard work, and one-dimensional tactics (not all teams, im just saying big picture wise)

Man U has already fucked themselves royally. They are around 9 points behind the top two. I think it's going to be between Liverpool and Chelsea this year, with Chelsea pulling away by a good 6 points at the end of the season.

Chelsea is motivated and they're playing some good soccer. I think they are the most solid and consistant team in England right now.

Melbourne, you are right... Arsenal is stupid for letting Diarra go. He is exactly the player they need right now. As good as Arsenal is at finding talent, they are almost quite as shit at letting talent go.

let's see if he can hit the 20 mark again by january; he probably won't..

looks like arsenal is going to be the last team to catch up with the pace of the other big teams; not a surprise with the way we use (or don't use) the transfer window. arsenal needs to note the following facts:

-Almunia is getting shakier every game.
-Gallas isn't defending like a captain should.
-Bendtner CANNOT cut it at this level (why is it so hard for wenger to see this?).
-too many injury prone players, and not enough depth
-NO defensive mid (though i'd give diaby and denilson a few more years -- but that doesn't win trophy's today)
-no physicality. it's so easy, like villa and stoke did, to get physical with Arsenal and get them out of thier game. when you hit Chelsea  players, they hit you harder
-

Arsenal have a lot of losses already.. sorry to say.

I think Chelsea will finish top, it's gonna be hard for United to catch up.. United are 5 points back and that's only if they win their game in hand against Fulham.

Those home games v Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are even more crucial than they always were.

Spot on.

Why wasn't Toure starting today? Does Wenger think Gallas and Silvestre are better center backs than Toure, or does he just want to stick with all French bastards in the defensive line? Either way, he's an idiot. If Toure wasn't fit, then I can understand.

Also, with youth comes inconsistency. They can play with the best but they can also lose to the worst. Fabregas has also been quite rubbish this season. He's not getting the assists or goals. From what I can see, Denilson is contributing just as much, if not more. If Barcelona wants him, he won't start after the first month. He won't be good enough to start for that central midfield.

And yes, Bendtner isn't that good. He isn't any better than he was 2 years ago. He seems to be stuck in his improvement. I think Vela needs more of a chance. Vela has more potential in his left toe than Bendtner.

The pretty much sums Arsenal up. Its a shame because if Chelsea doesn't win the title. I always want Arsenal instead of United and Liverpool.

Wenger sells important players and keeps players like Bentner.

Falamani and Heleb where very important to this team. Gilberto had valuable experience and could play DM well if they got rid of Diarra they should have at least kept him.

Another Anelka brace another away win, that 10 straight away wins now that equals Tottenham's record, Chelsea are setting new EPL landmarks.

I gotta a feeling United will be more involved in the title race against Chelsea as the season progresses instead of Liverpool.

Boring ass weekend in England. All 0-0 draws for the top teams, except for Arsenal. Should we even call them a top team anymore? Things are all jacked up there. When is Eduardo coming back?
Title: Re: England: Premier League
Post by: Sule on Nov 22, 2008, 12:17: PM
eduardo has apparently started training already

van persie got a goal disallowed even though it technically should have been 2-1 or 1-1 at that point in the game.
Hart went to drop kick it out of his 18 and when he threw the ball in the air v.persie just flicked it out of his way and volleyed it into the open net

William Gallas will line up with his Arsenal team-mates when they face Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, but not as captain. Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the French defender has been permanently replaced as the Gunners skipper by 21-year-old midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

I have a feeling that Wenger is phasing out Toure. I think Toure will be given the boot within a year.

OK, so what exactly was Ronaldo thinking when he played the ball with his hands?

I think that was the weakest red card i've ever seen. Why would Ronaldo, who is one of the best headers of the ball in England, try to stop or re direct the ball with his hands? It was so obvious that he thought play had stopped; why, who knows. I'm not just defending Ronaldo on this; i don't see the point in giving an attacking player a card for using his hands in that situation. He could have headed the ball on goal for a decent opportunity. Weird call by the ref.
Title: Re: England: Premier League
Post by: Sule on Dec 02, 2008, 02:55: PM
meh the ref had no choice and it was quite obvious and he cant say he didnt mean to do it because we clearly see him jump up and then move his hands in front of his face

his bad really
Title: Re: England: Premier League
Post by: ^_^ on Dec 03, 2008, 01:59: AM
true, but you really want to give the cards to players with intent and who are trying to hide it from the ref; i'm sure that ronaldo knew everyone was able to see what he was doing.

Player handles the ball = Yellow card.

I'm afraid theres no way around it.
Title: Re: England: Premier League
Post by: ^_^ on Dec 03, 2008, 03:44: AM
just like the rule about kicking the ball after the whistle is a yellow card offense? please, i see players get away with the "i didnt hear the whistle" all of the time.
Title: Re: England: Premier League
Post by: Adi on Dec 03, 2008, 04:42: AM
I think the ref did what he had to do. Although it is very unfortunate if Ronaldo thought he heard a whistle. Apparently, fans blowing their whistles can really work.

Post by: Sule on Dec 03, 2008, 10:22: AM
it worked in the 2002 WC in a group match between Mexico and Italy, i remember you could hear the tweet-tweet-tweeeeeoweet sound but it showed only the 76min

well i think ronaldo should a) start taking responsibility for some of his actions and not always trying to lie his way out of them and b) people should stop analyzing his every breath. Whatever he does people try to copy him and be like him.

lay off, i mean imagine how frustrating it is when ur in his position when everything you do is monitored by millions of people

Man U scraped out a win in the 90th minute today. They dominated Sunderland but couldn't get past their defense.

Ronaldo has been a bit off over the past few weeks. He needs to sort that out real quick.

It may have been disappointing, but come on, you can't expect a team to come out every single game and play 100%. Teams have bad games and can still scrape a win, that defines a good team. There are teams that don't play their best and don't end up winning.

unbelievable, i have started to question Wenger's ways. Ive always trusted him to do the right thing, but putting Bendtner on instead on R.van persie? especially seeing as recently rvp is the only gunner able to find the back of the net. If he wanted to  play bendtner he shouldve taken off adebayor. Two big men up front obviously did nothing and it just overall didnt make any sense at all today

btw anyone see the wigan villa match?hilarious, the amount of chances villa had, it was one of those days when the ball didnt go in the back of the net tho

I hope Chelsea doesn't make the Champions league spot.

I didn't watch last nights game and I will continue to boycott the games. Scolari is a tool. He brings in his staff from the Portuguese national team ruining the old staff set up. He seems to get stuck which players he should play. Its either one striker or hes got 3-4 strikers on.

One of the reasons Chelsea used to win games and where so successful is the direct football they played at times when they need to. When it gets urgent its all direct and they did it with swiftness. How many nearly lost games where rescued with direct attacking plays.

Now when the players have the ball even if they are loosing they try to dribble or do too much and end up loosing possession. This is the so called beautiful football that Russian clown was looking for huh?

Goals from Rooney & Ronaldo; Ronaldo with a nice free-kick finally.

arshavin was out for arsenal today and had two good chances, one tested the keep, other barely wide

problem with arsenal is that they cant score goals right now
if they solve this problem then they'll be back in the hunt, hopefully it wont be too late

Distractions as of April 18:

Manchester United: Champion's League, FA Cup
Chelsea: Champion's League, FA Cup
Liverpool: None
Arsenal: Champion's League

Should be interesting to see how United and Chelsea get through this, but Liverpool should make a healthy run at the title.

I think all teams still have a game against Arsenal too. Can Villa catch them?

There once was an ugly duckling, his name was Charlie T. He did all the right things, at all the right times, yet his manager ignored his pleas.

Instead, the praise and playing time, it went to the showponies; the Brits, the stars; Macheda, and Park; but never poor Charlie T.

The fans, they roared, the critics, applaud; but something was still awry. Was it his hair, his face? His size, his race? Or the bad guys at MSI?

£30 million, they said - the price on his head - at this, the manager scoffed. The fee was too much - perhaps, just a touch - but then what about Berbatov?

The ongoing perplexion over his constant rejection can't be an issue of morals. Go back to Rossi, Pique, Petrucci, and certainly, there were no quarrels.

And then against City, the duckling scored a screamer, admittedly his first in a while. The stadium erupted, his team-mates loved it, but from the boss, not so much as a smile.

Then the golden boy was subbed and snapped at his colleagues. The crowd weren't impressed, nor were the rest, but the manager remained completely jolly.

The duckling was choked, surely, this was a joke? He didn't know what else it meant. He wanted desperately to stay, the pretty one went astray, yet the boss supported his dissent.

So he can cry and moan, and always act like a kid? Just because the boss must keep him happy, so he doesn't move to Madrid?

Now they're trying to bend the rules, thinking that they're cool, trying to get him for free. They don't want to pay, wasn't that Wenger's way? This is getting very silly.

But what's done is done and the boss will see, when he's gone. Whether sky blue, all red, black and blue or all white, this ugly duckling will soon be a graceful swan.

lol

i was extremely disappointed when tevez first moved to united, because i thought that they might bench him. he is basically too similar to rooney to partner, and they needed a player like berbatov. tevez is one of the hardest working and best players on the team it is a shame that he is ever on the bench instead of the field. well, he will probably be gone next season. fortunately for me since jooraciaban owns him instead of united, he may very well end up at liverpool. this would be the perfect slap to the face to the cunt fergie especially if he helpls liverpool to re-establishing themselves as the sole most successful team in england.
