Title: ***Jay10's 3D Art Thread*** (Not 56K Friendy)
Post by: Jay.T on Jan 11, 2008, 05:25: PM
I started learning how to use 3D programs last year. Here's some stuff I made in 3D Studio Max 9. I don't find 3D modelling as fun as making 2D graphics but its cool to be able to create your own things or replica's  8)

Proper Models

M1A1 Thompson

I had alot of help doing this but I'm happy with the result  8) It could of been smoother around the place but meh no ones going to actually use it

Jazz (School ITS Assignment)

This took me over 3-4 months to complete. We were given the choice of 7-8 different product companies and we had to make a new character to replace their current advertising one. I choose Coca Cola and this to replace the bear  8)

Not too bad, I think your guns the best one you've posted, I do stuff like this in my spare time also :) If you look my graphics thread, there is one with some water and text "Raise the alarm", that was done in 3dsmax 10, just trying to make realistic-ish water :)

nice stuff.

Cool man, ur good at this. I tried 3Dmax myself but and I can tell its really really hard and requires much knowledge.

I was an uber noob when I made that scene, all it is is primitives except for the bottles which I used the lathe tool.
It was just a material with high specular and the transparency down a bit. I can make much better glass nowadays, I will post some rendering/lighting stuff another time ;)

Ahh I see so it was like a getting to know max project. But I suppose you never stop learning with 3ds max, theres just too many features.

Thats why I hate it  :cursing: Theres so many things you can do and you can't learn them all unless you spend like all day everyday learning them and how they work with one another.
