Title: ronnie deal is "still on"
Post by: dalefreestyle on Jun 15, 2008, 01:01: AM
Manchester City insist their bid to sign Ronaldinho is still on course - even though the Brazilian superstar is refusing to commit himself to a deal with the Eastlands club.

City hoped to have Ronaldinho signed and sealed last week, but the 28-year-old told club officials who opened negotiations with him last weekend that he wants more time to think.

Reports in Brazil have suggested Ronaldinho has rejected City's approach, but a club insider said: "The talks were productive and we are still confident a deal can be done.

"Ronaldino has not rejected anything, but it has become clear that because of his various sponsorship contracts it's going to be a very complicated process."

City are looking at a number of sponsorship options which would allow enable them to match Ronaldinho's £200,000-aweek wage demands.

But that means plotting a legal route through the various deals the Brazilian already has in place.

City have also put their £20million bid to import Ronaldinho's Brazil teammate Jo from CSKA Moscow on hold to allow new boss Mark Hughes time to consider his options.

It sounds ridiculous...

BUT...could it happen??

I'd love it just to see the look on any Manchester fans. It would be a bit like Maradona going to Napoli, but in all seriousness i don't think Ronaldinho's totally money orientated and when he moves it'll be to a big club (like Arsenal hopefully!!!!!!!)

a player of his class doesn't want to go to city. who would when you just played at one of the biggest clubs and have a lot more left in you.

I like your posts man. Welcome to the forum.

Yesterday, Barcelona said they would be getting rid of Ronaldinho, Deco, and Eto'o. Sounds like there's a sale at Barca. I knew about Deco and Ronni, but not that they'd be wanting to sell Eto'o so badly.

AC Milan have admitted they cannot compete financially with Man City in the race to sign Ronaldinho.

Man City has more dough than Milan?! :saywhat:

I dont think a big clubs wants Ronaldinho anymore. Im really upset with the way his game has gone in the last 2 years. He was and is my favourite player, and i remember i used to look forward to Barcelona Champions league matches for days only to watch his outrageos tricks, like passing the ball with his back, keeping it from like 4 opposition players, elastics, rabonas, bycicle kicks, no-look passes... but in the last 2 years, he has lost all confidence. someone please respond to this. When was the last time you saw Roni pick up the ball from a long distance away from the goal, and run FULL SPEED towrds the goal passing the opposition players with speed and agility. about 3 years ago. Do you remember when he used to run by 2 or 3 players every single time he had the ball? now he gets it, runs sideays a bit and trys the crossfield ball to Messi. Messi is amazing, but i prefer Ronaldinho at his peak....
Please Roni, get your career back on track and get back to your old self before its too long. I think the Premier league will resurect him, its at a much faster pace than Serie A and la Liga so he will be forced to move quicker and launch attacks quicker and he wont be given space to jog sideways looking for the easy pass. Also, if he goes to Man City (doubtful but anything can happen, TBH theres not many clubs who BOTH want him AND can pay his wages) it will be good for him. Barca, in EVERY match Barca plays the other team puts 10 men behind the ball. No player can run past all of these. However since Manchester City arent a big club, the other teams will be attacking them too, and not only looking for the 0-0 draw. This will mean more counter-attacking opportunitys which is where we see the best of Ronaldinho.
If Manchester city really want him, they should show their intentions of becoming a big club, by signing Jo. A huge prospect and maybe having a fellow brazilian at the club will entice Ronaldinho.
Please help me out Roni and get back on track, i love you  :nopity:

hahahah that cracked me up

Personally I believe Ronaldinho will not leave for Man City. It would be, as previously said, ridiculous.

Its here in Finland ;) Usually you play football with shorts and t-shirt, but here we need to be like eskimos. Stadions are surrounded by snow and polarbears so normally we take our eskimo-clothes and rifles and go to play football.
