"there will be blood" was beautifully made.

I'LL DRINK YOU'RE MILKSHAKE! It's a quality movie but very "artsy." If you're not into deep movies, then don't watch it.

--------------------

I've seen a few movies lately. Here's a quick summary:

Hulk: Very nice action movie. It's much better than the first one. 8/10
Zohan: Funny movie. It was everything I hoped it would be. I went with a big group of friends so it was even better. 8/10
Lives of Others: Germany movie with subtitles. It deals with the post-Hitler era and the East Germans spying on people. Quality, serious movie. 9/10

i guess i'll start with my least favorite (s)  :dontknow:

feature=related

"manos: the hands of fate"

movie starts at some point during that video.  THE worst movie of all time.  quentin tarantino keeps a copy as his favorite "comedy"

"sweet sweetback's baadasssss song"

some consider it to be the first "blaxploitation" film (think shaft).  i just remember a lot of running  :dontknow: .  i don't remember a lot of it (i hated it that much).  some people enjoy it.  it may be worth seeing.

i like a lot of black comedies and art and foreign films.

some make me feel like a bitch for watching:

feature=related

"amelie"

some don't:

"let's go to prison"

"l4yer cake"

"old boy"

"ong bak

i want to see:

"nagurimono"

Adi, movies always seem better when you go with a group of friends. For example: last year, I went to see epic movie and the friend I was sitting beside was piss drunk and laughed two hours straight...throughout the entire movie. That made me laugh too.....and I thought ot was because of the movie. So I rented it because I wanted to see it again, and it was the worst movie I had ever seen.

Just finished watching Drillbit and i liked it he fat kid and skinny gimpy kid were too alike superbad.

Also watched Dark knight last night and thought it was the bee's knees quiet a few twists in the film and Heath ledgers acting was amazing a shame hes dead now.

And a few days ago i watched the second half of Spiderman 1 which i seen the first half years ago and watched spiderman 2 a few months ago on TV and seen Spiderman 3.

Any recommendations? I might watch Death Sentence heard it was pretty good.

Yeah, the movie is twisted and interesting. It's rated highly by just about anyone who's seen it, yet it's not that popular.

If you want more, check out Se7en, Lucky Number Slevin, Cloverfield, The Departed, Hotel Rwanda, V for Vandetta, Scarface, The Lives of Others, and Leon - The Professional.

All good films.

It's a quality movie but you need to be in the right mood. It's about two hours and kinda slow but very interesting. It has a good ending as well. Watch it when you have time and want to see something that's interesting and well put together.

The shawshank redemption is one of my favourite movies. It's such a strong movie that really touch you. It's watched on as one of the best movies ever made, and it's rated as the best ever by internet movie database (link (http://www.imdb.com/chart/top?tt0111161)).

I also think that Me, Myself & Irene is a lovely film, Jim Carrey is a fantastic actor!

LORD OF THE RINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO MOVIE BETTER!
Every time I watch it, I'm always kept in suspense even though I know the whole movie... it's just PERFECTLY made.

let's see...good movies this year were the Dark Knight (obviously, I can't get enough of batman... he's my fave superhero )
umm...meet dave was funny at the beginning (especially when dave meets mark rhodes ) but then it got romantic and dramatic and shizzle...
oh Iron Man was awesome too.
and The Mummy 3 was quite kool although I would've preferred it if they used rachel weisz instead. The new person seemed to try hard to be like Rachel in the other mummy movies.

worst movie I watched this year was Pathology... just pathetic. it's like a porn movie with a twisted story as an excuse to show tits...
Title: Re: Official Movies Thread

Over the past few days ive watched.

Harold and Kumar: White Castle and Escape from Guantanamo Bay
Semi Pro
Carver

Out of the 2 H+K films i preffered White Castle i wonder if there will be another film. Semi Pro was a good film i thought it was about ice skating for some reason likely got it mixed up with another film. Carver was just like Wolf Creek campers getting slaughtered but Carver didnt really have much of a story line but a fucking sick part where this guy had one of his testicles crushed with plyers.

Thinking of watching Zohan some time dont really know of any decent comedies might watch ground hog day or bill and teds excellent adventures.

I just came home from the cinema. Me and some friends watched Max Payne and we all think it sucked. I was excited because the game story was really good, this was utter crap though :S Dont watch it. It could have been good but they messed it up and nothing really exciting happened during the movie. Missed tooooo many parts from the game.

However, I recently saw a movie called Gommorra (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0929425/). Italian suburb gangster movie set in the infamous Scampia hood in Naples.  I really recommend this movie, 8/10 from me. They say the cast is not actors, but real hood people.

7.7 on IMDB is good. I'll check it out sometime jonte.

I saw The Happening as well. Thought it was very average. The ending had no twist. It was pretty much what you thought it would be the entire movie. I was expecting some big twist towards the end.

neither of which are truly serious, although v for vendetta is clever (but overtly 1984-esque). They are just comic books with well developed plots and characters...but they still are nothing on books

most recent i've seen:

Benjamin Button - 3/5 (set in new orleans )
Yes Man - 2/5
7 Pounds - 5/5

if you havn't seen 7 pounds, you may want to see it. it was very real, very fulfilling to me. i love will smith's more mature role in movies now; he's always been a great actor, but i really think he did very well in this film. it is my favorite movie for a long while. and using "The Crisis" on piano made it amazing.

i come from a family who work hard, check to check our whole life to struggle to make payments. i know what it's like to need help but not get it (i mean, it's life yeah, and i'm not really asking for a handout...but when you are in this position, you know what i mean). and i know for a fact that when i grow old, i will definitely help people (not as random as in the movie i guess). when i see people struggle, i see myself, i see my parents, and i see my people.

Lord of the Rings.... no movie better than any of the three
every time I watch, I feel the suspense, even though I know the whole movie, and most of it's lines and shit

2008 movies I liked
RocknRolla - f!@#ing hilarious shizzle, the movies made by the director pwn.
Role Models - Amazingly funny too
The Dark Knight - most ppl who watched it loved it, I'm one of them  :rockit:
Taken - many ppl say it just rapes james bond and those type of movies. it's true, it's a must see
there are others but I can't remember

Låt den rätte komma in
or
Let the right one in

one of the shittiest movies I've seen
ok maybe not, but reallly average shit
on IMDB, it's supposedly the best vampire movie ever

it's supposedly Drama | Horror | Romance | Thriller
it should be more like, Drama + Romance
and read this. it's on IMDB's parental guidance thing for this movie

"We see a glimpse of a young girls bare crotch. However, we do not see her vagina- there is noting there but a ragged scar. Again, this is not of a sexual nature. "

OMG!!!  :saywhat:
can you say child porn!? I mean, the faggot director must be out of his mind. when I saw it, I was like, ok... what EXACTLY am I looking at... only until 2mins after the scene passed I was like, oh no.... it can't be...  :saywhat:

riiiiight.... as long as it's not of sexual nature we can throw everything on the screen.

agreed that it was a sick intro....the flashes through the 60s and 70s to the tune of 'the times they are a-changing'....it doesn't get much better than that

but the rest of the movie kinda sucked
