Who do you think is the most underrated player in World Football?
I think Alexandre Pato from A.C Milan is quite underrated.

its not Pato for sure i'd have to say it is Makalele he has been in the team enough his a class act

Mikel can be a very good footballer, but Chelsea don't give the boy a chance also his style doesn't fit in with the team style. But his vision and passing ability is excellent. Hes got the potential to be among the best in the game right now. For real.
Heleb most talented player Arsenal have. Very neat, amazing ball control, very good touch and hes a wonderful passer of the ball.
Ribery excellent winger can also pretty much play central great player.
Nasri what can I say the kid is amazing.
Pirlo dosen't get the credit he deserves along with Riquelme.
The most underrated footballer of all time would probably have to be Claude Makelele truly the heart of any team. It was clear when he left Real they where having major problems.

I agree with melbourne about Mikel,He can be great if given a chance,He's a great fill-in when people are injured,He's young so.. He should be played more.

I would not say Pirlo is underrated. He was voted as one of the best players at WC 2006. I personally think he is fantastic and I think many leading people in the game around the world would agree.
Although Vidic is rated highly in the Premiership, I think a lot of people don't rate him as high as they should. Ferdinand and him are the best center back pairing in the world. He was awesome in the Champions League Final and I think he is one of the top center backs in the game.
I am of the opinion that Maka at Chelsea has had more than enough plaudits. He is a player who has created a position for himself very well but I would hardly say people underrate him, if anything I think he is a little overrated.

in what situation would you expect an older player to play a full season? who would you expect to pay big money for a player in the twilight of his career?

He's 35 kiddo, and he did play every week and was wanted up top teams a few years ago. He does that sitting role in front of the back very well but there others in the world that can play just as well in my personal opinion

what do you mean he plays weekly he doesn't he plays around once every 4 weeks he should leave them i'm sure Bayern would make good use of him

It certainly doesn't. Ronaldo was awesome but Ferdinand and Vidic were absolutely immense for them this season

No one looks at the defence.
VDS was great, and his best friends have to be Ferdinand and Vidic because they gave him less work!
Evra played fantastic. He jumped in on the play so many times and acted like a winger. :biggrin:
Tevez? No one mentions him. He saved our asses in the last minute quite a few times this year.

Ribery is extremely underrated. He's got real class. He's the Frenchman to watch in Euro 08.

Why are people saying Ribery? He's not underrated at all. People are saying he is Frances main man for Euro 2008 in all the papers. He is not overrated by any stretch, but he has got the credit he has deserved, no doubt. People need to stop making silly suggestions

Dirk Kuyt came to Liverpool having, for the most part, been playing as a striker for his previous clubs. Last season he played wide in 5 man midfield. Liverpool played the two wide players high though, thus creating a 433 at times. So, no, he was never "hanging around the midfield" as some guy so thoughtfully said. He was playing in a midfield role.

not that Villa is underrated its just that no1 really knew about him THAT MUCH. Now with a good euro campaign hes 1 of the top bids for transfer. Villa and Kluivert up front on fifa 06/fifa 07 was the sheit
