I think he's the best freestyler... hands down. He has won some recent competitions, but why isn't he at the top of RBSS and other comps?
His style is the best and he pulls off some insane stuff?
Is the reason his consistency during battles? Does he not pull off his moves on a regular basis? It seems he's consistent so I don't get it.
-
Michryc didn't take part in polish RBSS qualifications and Superball. Probably he wants surprised in F3 World Tour.
-
Firstly, I totally agree with Adi on the first post. If he entered I'm sure he would reach the final in almost every competition, including RBSS. Just too bad that he decided not to enter RBSS. I think you are right, Jrk, that he wants to hide his level for the World Tour, but I don't understand why he didn't enter/win last year's polish RBSS?? Anybody know anything about that? :)
Actually, det same for Luki (or not the same, not at all actually), but why doesn't he enter RBSS? Ofc it's hard to win the Polish championships, but as far as I know he didn't even compete? Btw, imo, if Luki got consistent on all of his tricks, he would be seriously good, one of the best, if not THE best.

This is a big issue. It's like not having Spain, Bayern, Barcelona, Miami Heat, or the Yankees take part in competitions.
There are few competitions, and the top freestylers should participate in all. Strange to say the least.
If there is one freestyler that doesn't have to worry about getting boring or repetitive, it's MichRyc.
-
Here's why. There are so many phenomenal freestylers out there at the moment. Who is to say that Michryc is better than Andrew Henderson, Szymo, Luki, Tokura, etc. outright? The fact is, you might like him better, but he's not outright better than any of them. There currently is a top 10 or so that is almost interchangeable, and they are all fucking amazing. The other reason is judging whom is the best freestyler is based purely out of opinion. This isn't football where one team will score more goals than the other. It's judged based on opinions. You think Michryc is the best. Maybe I think Szymo is the best or someone else. Neither of us are necessarily right or wrong.
-
Yeah, I know that, but I think MichRyc is best equipped to win every competition. This is because he has a good amount of difficult moves and lots of creativity to mix things up. I realize he can lose occasionally if the ball doesn't bounce the right way, but he should be the favorite if you ask me.
By the way, I think freestyle would benefit tremendously if there was a top dog that everyone wants to take down. We see it in every sport.

With all due respect, I call bullshit on that. Take football as an example. Before 10 years almost ANY football club could win the CL, now there are only Barca, Real, Man Utd, Bayern and maybe Chelsea + 2,3 teams. That fucked up the sport, because judges make some little benefit for a big name club. I enjoyed football way more when there was a chance to win the CL for many other clubs like Juventus, Milan, Inter, Arsenal, Ajax ect. The newest football is fucked up. 32 clubs, if I'm not mistaken, go into the group stages and only 5,6 or even 7 clubs are expected to win. Why not all 32? Because it's fucked up, mostly by money, but that's a different topic.
With no more bullshiting from my side, I like freestyle with more players at the top, so the winner isn't easily predicted. You know, just for the suspense and the lolz

Just look at the ratings, especially in more individual sports like boxing or even basketball where less players are involved. Miami Heat, Lakers, Boston, Mayweather, and Mike Tyson all drew the best ratings of all time because of their superior level and domination. People love the story of the underdog and the ratings show exactly that. What you prefer personally is your opinion, but the numbers don't lie when it comes to my comment.

First, I completely agree with redsforlife. It's too hard to decide who's the best and it's wrong to try, cause it's all a matter of opinion.
Secondly, the thing you said Adi..
This is a big issue. It's like not having Spain, Bayern, Barcelona, Miami Heat, or the Yankees take part in competitions.

I clearly understand where you're getting at, but I kinda disagree with that! I know that there's been a lot of discussion around this subject, but I think it's important still that the freestyle scene is not only about money and winning competitions! Of course it is way more fun to watch a freestyle competition with the best freestylers in the world battling, I think that too! But I also think it is cool that some of the really top freestylers doesn't compete in all there is of competitions. Another reason for that is also that relatively "new" freestylers would feel kind of intimidated from participating in comps if they knew that they had no chance at all because they would be up against MichRyc, Andrew, Charly and Szymo. With that I don't mean that the top freestylers should be stopped in entering all competitions, not at all, but I'm just trying to see upsides and downsides.
Having a top dog to be the almost unbeatable favourite every time wouldn't be nice imo. It would be much more less fun to watch if you just knew that MichRyc would win. At this moment we have so many candidates to take the victory, also in the F3 World Tour. Charly does some of the hardest lowers, complex stalls and is just an amazing freestyler, Tobias the same, Andrew and Szymo maybe the best allrounders overall with great lowers, crazy (especially Szymo ofc) uppers and A LOT of variety often along with originality. Luki of course has AMAZING uppers, crazy creativity/originality and sick style. I probably forgot so many, yeah we have Gunther, Tokura, Pedrinho.. But what they seem to lack, (here I mean Gunther and Tokura) is variety! Tokura, yeah he's an amzing freestyler! But damn he does the same in EVERY battle, nothing new! Kind of the same with Gunther.. he lacks originality!

They should be able to decide that themselves :)

I know... I said "should," not that they have to or are forced into it. Although, these guys do it almost like it's their career so not sure why they wouldn't.

I think I've read somewhere the price of winning the f3 tour is really big, while winning Prague is mostly about gaining respect. I guess that's the reason why Michryc wanted to save his stuff for later rounds of the tour

Elimination RBSS this year in Poland was a bit different. MichRyc didn't start as a rest for the time being and perhaps mainly focuses on the F3 World Tour. On the issue of Luki, then he couldn't go to Żerków because he had an important exam at the university. Mikołaj while was on vacation.
Returning to the MichRyc topic. In my opinion the best presents now, he should fight for RBSS and other tournaments. However, it's his decision. And that shows yet again what he can do.

One major problem with this, all of those sports you mentioned there is a clear objective, and it makes it obvious whom is better. No one fights Mayweather, and just a judge, I like his style better. No, Mayweather wins by KO, TKO, or UD every single time, because it's obvious he outboxes his opponent. In freestyle, it's different.
If there has been a top dog in recent times, it's been Andrew Henderson. He's been the most consistent performer in freestyle competitions in recent times. He's won several majors as well. I'd actually say he's the most equipped to be dominant, but even he cannot win everything. He's extremely well rounded, has many super difficult tricks, has a great flow, and he brings personality to his performances. There however are more than a few guys capable of beating AH on a given day, and that's why he isn't completely dominant. The same would go for Michryc or any other top freestyler.

Yes, I think you're right.. for every step of the tour there is a smaller prize (think it was like 15.000 (not dollars, euros or pounds, but some arab money I think) in Dubai), and then there is a pretty big prize for the winner of the whole tour, of course including the smaller ones, which means that MichRyc will actually earn quite a lot of money by winning this tour when he has already won the first 2 comps.. not saying MichRyc does this for money, cause I don't think that is the case, I just think he's saving his energy for the tour because he already has this big chance to win it and because it includes (almost) all the best freestylers in the world, meaning he would also earn respect + popularity + title of World Champion.

I didn't know that! It's just too bad, cause Luki is one of my favourite freestylers!!

I feel like a prick for saying this, but Andrew isn't one of the best 3 for me. Yeah, he does hard tricks, but he always looks like he's chasing the ball and his style is too rigid... no fluidity. I'm under the belief that the best freestylers look smooth when they freestyle. The best make the hardest stuff look easy and stylish. Andrew is always stretching. Yeah, his moves are hard as hell but his freestyle doesn't look all that great.

I can actually see what you are saying there, but I'd disagree with him not really being top 3. He keeps winning competitions for a reason. I think part of the reason he looks like this is his energy is always so high. It's very difficult to be a high energy freestyler and always be in control 100% of the time. Look at someone like Sean or Szymo as well. They are always pushing their own limitations in their styles which causes them to occasionally be out of control and even drop in competitions. Then you got people like Michryc that are smooth, calm, and controlled. Some would argue that he doesn't push his own limitations enough. I am not one of them. I just think he has his own style. I personally think there is about a top 10 that is interchangeable. There are just far too many different styles to choose from to pick 1 absolute best freestyler for me. It's just too difficult to really judge.
