Really stupid decision since its one of the only actual olympic competitions. Eventho its boring as shit and nobody actually does it.

Just as you think it's a terrible idea. Wrestling is one of the oldest and most traditional sports in the Olympics.
Poles in this sport are very successful (the last a little less), and for many people it is a 'dramatic' situation.
