Lotar and Fabian should have gone through from this group. I cannot understand why Fabian did not qualify. Lotar was easily the best for me, but Fabian was a close 2nd. Gunther may have had better lowers than Fabian, but Fabian was better at uppers, sits, and transitions. This is an all around competition, so Fabian should have qualified.

That doesn't mean that Gunther is automatically better. Gunther did better lowers. Fabian was better all around. For me, it's either a bias in favor of lowers or a bias in favor of a bigger name. That is the only real explanation. Lotar and Fabian were clearly the two best.

2nd look at your post, I think you were agreeing with me. Also, I wanna make this clear. All 4 guys in this group were actually very good. It's kind of unfortunate that two of them had to go out. All 4 of these guys could have gone through in different groups.

Imo you cant divide it like Lowers - Gunther, Uppers - Fabian, Sitdowns - Fabian.
If Gunthers lowers alone were harder than Fabians sitdowns and uppers combined, then the winner should be Gunther of course.

But then again, I just cant tell for sure what is actually harder in this battle, because I dont practice sitdowns and uppers almost at all and Gunthers lowers are beyond the level I can comprehend.

But I believe Gunther deserved to go to the next round though.

Fabian's overall level was much harder than Gunther's overall level. I didn't divide between uppers, sits, and lowers. It was just an observation that Gunther's lowers were better than Fabian, and that was the only thing he was better than Fabian at. You also get negative points for not being well rounded in most competitions like this, so being well rounded does matter. Fabian is obviously more well rounded. Execution has to be judged as well. Gunther's execution in lowers was good, but his uppers and sits were kind of poor. Fabian had pretty good execution in everything, so he wins there too.

The only explanation is a blatant bias in favor of lowers or Gunther's bigger name. Gunther is a very good freestyler, but he should have lost here.

Onas, it's ok for a fan like you to have a bias like this, because you opinion doesn't effect the outcome of the competition. It's not ok for the judges to be biased like this. Their decisions need to be fair to create an even playing field.

If there is just a call for lowers to be considered more important, you guys need to create a new sport where only lowers are allowed. Until then, you must judge all aspects evenly.

Dear Redsforlife

in your life you will never do in "battle" a difficult combo as my first combo lower, even in the video, but you can get to make the rounds of the others in the future, so about to win
 :victory:

this is a battle  not a show , the most hard performance win , but the 80% of the freestylers not understand this.

I'm sorry if I'm bad but  this is the reality

Gunther,

I have nothing against you. I actually think you are a great freestyler. The fact is you are wrong that your combo is harder than anything that Fabian or I can do. Fabian's entire 3 rounds in this battle were overall more difficult than yours. I know you like lowers combos better than anything else, and there is nothing wrong with that. The problem is the lack of understanding that other things are good or difficult as well.

The real truth is that there are things you can do that I'll never be able to do, but I can also do things that you'll never be able to do. It's a matter of different skill sets, not yours are hard and mine aren't. We also have far different goals in life, so we train differently.

If you were offended by me saying that Fabian should have beaten you, that isn't what I meant to do. It was just an observation that him and Lotar were the 2 best in this battle. We are both allowed opinions on the battles, and this was mine. It's an all-around competition, so it only makes since that all types of freestyle to be judged evenly. This was an extremely difficult group, so someone good had to be knocked out. Congrats on finishing 3rd. You did a good job.
