Title: Football Manager 2008
Post by: Adi on May 05, 2008, 05:50: AM
Anyone play Football Manager 2008? I started a new game on the 8.0.2 patch with QPR. I start in the Championship and get an amazing 17 million pound budget.

I got promoted my first season (2nd place) and now I'm somehow sitting in 7th place half way into the season.

My main signings so far are: Miranda, Gignac, Zarate, Jimenez, Ustari, Enyeama, Mihelic, Nazarenko, Kalouda, McLean and Piatti.

I used to play but got too frustrated when my chairman always sold my best players. I came to playoff in UEFA cup with Örebro SK (shit club) in 2010. I draw Barcelona once :--D

you dont play, but you can choose to simulate or you can watch. but seriously i have never been so entertained by dots running round the screen in my life.

its a great game with a huge database, gives you something to do on a rainy day

It's the most addicting sports game out there. If you are a soccer fan, you'll love it. Go get a copy moby and you'll see.

i dont play it anymore because i am not into football or gaming that much.

When i had it i was always Liverpool for some reason, i bought Tevez and got Henry for free when his contract ran out at Arsenal, so i snapped him up. Won the league thanks to my dynamic duo up front and sold Henry back to Arsenal for 30 million.

hmm, which smiley to use banana or pimp?

i will go for pimp

no it wouldnt, otherwise you could buy any shit player and control him, there would be no point buying anyone good, as you would control them all, its the best game in the world easily the most addictive

I've been addicted to this game.  I can't find a formation that works consistently though.  Its like it works well for a few games then it sucks.  And a lot of my players are unhappy about not playing.  I can't get Van der Vaart in form.  I'm Chelsea and now I'm at the point where all my African players are playing for their country, and I didn't realize how much they are missed.  I'm 5th in the league but man u is very much clear of me by about 20 points so I don't think I can win it.  I'm still in the FA cup and Champions league though.

Any tactic suggestions?

Well actually now my team is playing very well.  Van der Vaart has scored or assisted every game.  Huntelaar only had one goal all season and he's scored in every game since I criticized his play

do you actually watch the matches

I watch some of them.  I have to change tactics and stuff when I'm leading or down because if I keep my offensive style against better clubs they come back and rape me after half time
