Recently i was trying some tricks that i had not done in a very long time. Tricks like matw, toe-bounce, lipstall and i was surprised that i could still do them easily.
Of course these are very easy tricks so it is hard to forget the technique (or easy to re-learn), but i was still kinda surprised.
It is summer and I already forgot all my school-work i learned only a month ago  but i don't forget fs tricks.
So do you think it is possible to forget a trick technique after learning it?

Nam the Man talked about this on the stream. He said he doesn't train to learn new tricks, he trains to "maintain" his freestyle ability.
With that in mind, it sounds very possible to lose your skill if you don't practice. I guess you need to practice even the easier tricks at least sometimes to keep them consistant.

Well airmoves I dont forget, either creative stuff but I forgot many flick-ups because I didnt train/mention them for a long time..........

i do only uppers but i also train sits in like once in a month or 2 months but even i found it suprising that the touch was still there don't know how :017: :017: i started sits like for the first time in 2 monh\ths and i was able to do 52 juggles in thee very first attempt after that 5-6 x-overs and 1 or 2 CO and abdullah as well.... it's quite suprising but why bother if things are still going good for you...  :celebrate: :celebrate:

guess i havent tried that since im still beginner

I don't forget tricks, I just fail to do them because it is kinda hard to maintain all of them. I need to practice combos, my weak foot, nt's so I kinda forgot Palle move. Even if I can do it most of the time, it ain't that good from when I learned it and tried if for a week in a row.

i also think it's a sign that we as freestylers have improoved

good point...if we forget old stuff, its probably cuz we learned new stuff

YOu can forget them but never fully. They will return very fast if you were good at them before.

probably true :098:

It's just like returning from a long term injury.

say you done the trick before, now you train something else, even though your not training the same tricks everyday, or weekly, as long as your touching the ball and doing other tricks the touch for the last old trick will still remain.
if you stop training completely its a dif story

In Holland we have a saying that goes, "It's like riding a bike, you'll never forget". I think it also applies to fs tricks but it will be a bit strange if you do not touch a ball for a year and start freestyling again.

I've got four avatars (red, green, blue and black), they're rotating. Refresh this page (F5) and you will see another ;)

its kinda similar to this , but i wonder how mikael lindroth would handle a sitdown combo since he quit freestyle years ago, how quickly could he get his touch back

i guess 10-15 days would be enough... just practice juggling for the first 7-8 days.. and then move on to doing all those combos and stuff !!
