EURO 2012 - Semi Final
Germany vs Italy

Italy played well vs Spain in the group stage and showed they are a decent team. I'm really surprised actually. I thought they would be shit in this comp.
Still i think Germany are too strong for them. Germany will win 2-0

Oooh it looks like Italy is goin to win ... but i wouldnt speak too quickly, i still believe Germany will advance to final :) a repetition of '8

didn't expect this. I'm guessing that Germany coach tried to use Kroos as a man-marker for Pirlo. But it didn't work because Pirlo was unstoppable again.
The only way to stop Pirlo is to close his passing options, but Germany didn't do that. I was surprised how bad they defended. Overall it was an close game, but Italy were better at finishing today.
There were 2 horrible handball decisions in this match btw. This rule continues to confuse me :017:

Kroos is definitly not the type of player to mark a man, and Löw knows that. I think he wanted to let Kroos play because he has diserved it, still he's more a number 10 than a winger, but there's already Özil on this position. Kroos didn't play well, this time Löw's line-up strategy was not good, also Reus played so much better than Podolski

From my Facebook if anyone cares to read:
1) Low failed tactically and with his personnel decisions. Podolski and Kroos shouldn't have started. Should have been Reus on the left and Muller on the right.
2) You don't change a winning side. He made too many damn changes in the last two games.
3) Defense was poor. Much worse than ever before. Part of the blame goes to tactics again. Team was over confident and too attack minded. Left defense exposed on numerous occasions.
4) Schweinsteiger had a very bad tournament, apart from game 1. His ankle is bothering him and he was poor.
5) We played too many center mids. You can't play Ozil and Kroos together with Schweini and Khedira in behind. Italy's biggest weakness is out wide. Instead of exposing them with Reus and Muller's constant movement, we played the entire game through the middle. Fail.
6) This tournament wasn't necessarily a failure, but it was shame Germany didn't make it further.
7) Some of the players still need to man up. Italy was simply better today. Germany still has more talent, but their talent wasn't put to use today. Too many tactical and personnel mistakes on top of the defensive blunders.
8) Final between Italy and Spain... what a shit final... snooze it up. Hate both teams.
9) Last but not least, at least Germany attempted to play football, unlike some of these other teams at the tournament. It came back to bite them in the ass, but I appreciate that more than what England did. Funny how the English are proud of their team's accomplishment this summer. Well done getting outplayed in all your games. You got something to hang your hat on. Call me when you guys play some proper football against the opposition.
