Greece captain is missing the quarter final because of an unjust 3rd yellow card. He's their key man.
As you can see... he wasn't happy.

Off-topic: Do you think he deserved the penalty? I think there was maybe enough contact to trip him a little, but he also dived a bit.
Greece don't have a chance without Karagounis. Germany wins 2-0.

I do not think he should've given the penalty, but neither a yellow card!

Germany will have their work cut out for them. Greece will defend with all 11 and will do its best to score of a set piece. Won't be easy.
I feel terrible for the captain's suspension. He was tripped. He didn't dive. His foot got stuck. I can feel his pain... missing a game for no reason. Maybe it wasn't a penalty, but it sure as hell wasn't a yellow worthy dive.
FIFA should grow a pair of balls and cancel the yellow. It's the only fair thing. :rolleyes:

Greece stood no chance though. Yeah, they tied it up but Germany had tons of possession and chances.
Reus, Ozil, Lahm looked good. Schweinsteiger had a game to forget. I think he had the most pass completions for Greece. :grin:
Anyways, got to rest Gomez and Muller, and Badstuber didn't get his 3rd yellow so all is good.
I'd like to see Reus start over Podolski next game. Bring Muller and Gomez back. Schurrle as super sub.

I 100% agree. Steven Gerrard is the only player on England I consider top class. The rest of them are overrated workmen type players.

Exactly. I always refer to their players as good role players, but the majority of the world doesn't see it that way because their big names mask their true ability. Foreigners on English club teams make their clubs successful. Foreign talen is the difference in England, not the actual English players. You just have to look at the national team's record to see the proof.

Gomez is not world-class... that's for sure, but he is a good player. It depends what you mean by top player. If you think "world-class" then no, but top player as in international class and amongst top 5-10 strikers, then yes.
He has some glaring flaws, but you can't look past his 40 goals per season. Not many strikers will give you that nowadays.
