Top 16 Round 1
Rules
Video length- 2:00-2:10
Must use BF intro
Lowers only
Videos will be marked like the qualification round each out of 10 based on 1. Style 2. Technical Difficulty 3. Variety
From the Top 16, 8 will be selected to go through to round 2 where battles will take place.
Deadline- 25th of June ( ALL videos must be in by this deadline in order for it to be judged)

Wild Card Round
For the people that didn't make Top 16, you have a chance to redeem yourself. We will choose a winner from this round as a wild card to join the Top 16.

This comp gave me a better guideline of where real beginners should be. I will modify some rules for the upcoming beginner comps to make it fairer. :13:

One more thing. I won't compete anymore. Not that I quit, I'm not injured or anything, I can train everyday.
It's because of competitors who are obviously not beginners. When I started, bltatw wasn't a beginner trick, also not 2 ltatw's, 2, batws, hhjatw-batw ect. These combos are not fair to other real beginners. I don't say I'm a real beginner, the one who trains for 4,5 months or who's hardest combo is atw htw amatw. I'm just saying that by these conditions I won't compete. What do you guys plan to do in the final if you go trough, htlatw?
Just look at Djota's level, last years winner of the beginner lower competition. He did his first or second tatw amatw nt, he did some batw stuff, he did his first or second ahtatw and you guys do batw matw nt, ahtatw in a big combo.

I don't agree with this. Freestylers are improving. If you improve, you should move to the next level which is intermediate. There will always be true beginners who are just starting. The basic beginner level should always be there. If you improve, then move to the next level which is intermediate.
We shouldn't make the beginner class more difficult because individual freestylers are getting better. There will always be new freestylers who can just do the basic tricks, not necessarily a 15 move combo.
I think we need to move more people into the Intermediate group.

I agree 100% with you there that bltatw is not a beginner's trick. Thus I will be making some adjustments to the competition.

Thanks for the kind words :great: I hope you will still make a vid though because I will be discussing moving some competitors to a higher competition with Budz if the Top 16 vid does not match a "standard" beginner.

A few years ago latw was a hard trick for advanced fsers, nowadays it's considered a beginner trick. Is that bullshit too? I dont think so. In the past ahtatw/ahmatw was considered a very hard trick too, nowadays it's also beginner.

I agree, in this beginner competition there are people that should be in the intermediate one.Plus I would add that kenneth can't do strong amatws and alatws well because of the injury he had in the past(I would say that amatw's motion is fundamental for Nt's..)so that is a sort of handicap(not offending,huh :D).
Let's not misunderstand the level of the freestylers..co ahtatw and ahtatw ahtatw are not beginner combos ;)

But that's because you're around the same people who have now evolved and become intermediate/advanced freestylers.
You gotta look at it from the other side. It's about the people that starting freestyling a month or two ago. They are the true beginners. To them, the latw is still hard as hell. You can't consider yourself a beginner if you've been freestyling for a year and know lots of combos.

in my case if I move in the intermediate competition, my level would be crap compared to the other intermediate

If the categories are narrower then the rules must be very specific for it to work. In my opinion it should be like this ( maximum for each level):
Beginner: 10 move combo, latw, maatw, atatw, magellan, basic nt combos like crossover - atw (nt), tatw-htw (nt)
Intermediate: 30 move combo, 2-3 move nt combos like tatw-matw (nt), amatw-amatw-amatw (nt), mgtatw, lmatw, beck variations like bltatw, beck palle trick etc
Advanced: Crazy hardcore shit.
Weak foot level? I don't know. :017: Unusual stuff like datw, sagami atw, new shit, 360 atw could also be beginner i think.
Does anyone agree with this?

Your beginner level is a bit too low on the tricks. I would add some tricks like lmatw, beck just not in big combo's. Those should be things you hit, throw the ball away and yell at the camera :p. Same with nt combo's like tatw-matw and matw amatw. As long as you dont hit them 10 times in a vid in 10+ trick combo's they can be beginner.

i guess there will always some tricks on the edge of both beginner and intermediate. But i think the levels should be really specific. It should not matter if it's your 1st lmatw or your 10th.
Because the important thing is to not intimidate early beginners who see nt as something crazy hard.
This is really difficult to get specific but i think it should be done, so these issues don't happen in the future.

is perfect, my problem is, as I had said before my level is somewhat higher than beginner but pretty bad at intermediate I understand?

When you want to organize or hold a competition, please use these guidelines according to the competition level:
LOWERS
beginner: up to 15 trick combo; hardest combos/tricks: tatw amatw nt, tatw atatw nt, latw. Should execute no more than 1 nt move in a combo.
intermediate: 16-35 tricks with at least 12 weak foot of which at least 6 need to be
atw/hatw. then any 3 move nt, almatw/altatw, rsatw/satw/almatw - perhaps your first
3 revolution trick.
advanced: 40+ trick combos with 100% balance on both feet (20/20), 4+ nt, 2+ diferent
3 revolution tricks, almatw/rsatw/satw - nt, at least 4 ahm/aht/al in a combo and 3
in a row of one of them etc...

I almost want to say the same for the beginners comp compared to the intermediate comp. 9 videos out of 16 expected...
