Group of Death!
Germany starts against Portugal. That's going to decide what happens.
-
My favorite country (portugal), going to have a world of trouble getting out of this one. probably not gonna happen. THink I might have to switch to cheering for netherlands after group stage :(
-
So unpredictable! Nasty group. Quality football will be played here. Will be fun to watch. Germany will win the group.
The match between Holland and Portugal will decide 2nd place :great:
-
Germany beat Israel today 2-0 but there is still a lot of uncertainly for Germany despite killing it in qualification.
- Schweinsteiger's fitness is in question. Does Kroos play next to Khedira or what do we do?
- Gomez or Klose up top?
- Mertesacker or Hummels at center back? Merte sucks but Hummels has been bad for the national team.
- Who will be the key subs? Gotze, Schurle, Reus?
:embarrassed:
-
Germany will always be successful in big tournaments like this. No matter how poor they looked before, they always make a good run in the tournament. Will be interesting to see which of the 3 big dogs make it out of the group. Netherlands and Germany should be favorites. Will be interesting is Ronaldo can come up with some goals for Portugal to change things up.
-
Much will depend on Ronaldo's form and whether or not portugal found a good forward. With nani/ronaldo they have soo much pressure from the wings, with a good scoring forward they have a good shot at next round.
-
I'm starting to worry more and more about Holland. I think Holland is my #1 unbiased pick, then Spain, then Germany. I have a feeling Holland will win it.
-
Bayern team in Poland... lovely outfits with nice jackets from back in the day.

Jerome Boateng prepares for Euros by spending the night with Playboy model in cheap hotel (Gina Lisa Lohfink)

Jogi, Germany's manager, said in the press conference that he was absolutely not amused and apparently gave ol' Jerôme quite a dressing-down in front of his colleagues. Stressed that Boa better play his heart out on Saturday after this escapade.
Confirmed Lahm-Bads-Merte-Boateng line-up for Saturday.
Ugh, Mertesacker over Hummels?!
-
Whooa, u all seem to forget Denmark!? Im sure they will come up with good results and they have beaten Portugal many times, they can surely do that again...buut they're getting in trouble against Germany and maybe Holland too :)
-
Good point... Denmark has beaten Portugal quite a bit, even in qualifying a few years ago.
I think Portugal will be done if they lose to Germany tomorrow. The same can be said about the Germans though. It's a crucial match.
-
1-0 Denmark. Could we have a surprise on our hands. Netherlands haven't played poorly, but maybe could have finished some of their chances. Denmark gets one good chance, and they score.
-
Looking great for portugal so far. Netherlands losing to denmark really opens up possibilities for second place.
-
Dnemark were giving up many chances in the 1st half but they improved a lot in the 2nd half. But Netherlands didn't look very sharp. Sneidjer was the only Dutch player who looked good.
This is the worst possible start for Netherlands. I think they are finished after losing here.
-
IF they play like this they will get destroyed by germany.
-
Deeeenmaaaark! :PDT_Armataz_01_37: :sign0098: :You_Rock_Emoticon:
-
FUUUU portugal deserved at least a point.

Boom, Germany with the 1-0 win!
:singing:
Game was a bit sloppy but that was in part due to the rain and generally tight tactics.
Thrilled that Hummels (not Mertesacker) got to start alongside Badstuber. Both were excellent. In fact, the entire defense (including Neuer) was very sharp. Boateng slid in to stop Ronaldo's one-on-one. Neuer grabbed everything that was whipped in. Lahm kept Nani quite.
Ronaldo was quite... least touches out of anyone on his team. :hee20hee20hee:
And congrats to Denmark! Incredible result. Holland was too wasteful in attack. RvP wasn't sharp. Robben was his usual selfish self. Head down, shoot.
Go on Germany! Keep up the strong play so we can secure 1st place. 1st gives you a huge edge going forward!
:682:
-
Germany defending was good. They deserved the win, even though they were a little lucky after the left Pepe unmarked for that corner. Only 2 more inches more over the line was needed :021:
I think Portugal are missing a creative playmaker. Moutinho is not good enough at all.
-
Cmon portugal deserved at least a point. They had like 15 corners.
-
Cmon portugal deserved at least a point. They had like 15 corners.
I think youre right..portugal also had 2 shots at the crossbar!:) and if denmark just beats Portugal wednesday then they're through to next round!!! :PDT_Armataz_01_37:
-
A corner is really a half-chance. Portugal didn't create any real chances themselves from those corners, except the one that fell to Pepe.
Let's be honest Portugal were terrible in attack. Ronaldo, Postiga and Moutinho were anonymous. Nani lost the ball 98935643 times. The left back Coentrao was their best attacker
Also, Germany have big tall players who defend corners very well, so Portugal should not be happy with corners in this match.
-
Ronaldo did good things, he just got soo few good balls + boateng played a BIG game.
-
Great to see Gomez on top of his form, even the odds are on his side to be the top scorer. I still think that this could be Torres, if he finds his form on time.
-

Boateng and Lahm did very well to keep Ronaldo and Nani quite, but big players like Ronaldo need to find ways to get the ball.
He needs to come back to midfield to get the ball. He used to do that well at Man U, but completely stopped at Madrid. He's a all out forward now. He's too talented to be just that, especially for Portugal where they don't have enough guys to make it happen. It works at Madrid since he has Ozil and Alonso to string the passes together. At Portugal, it's another story and he needs to step up.
That was a bad game from Ronaldo...
-
Man, denmark only need 1 victory more and they're in next round!:)
-
Incredible result for you. Tomorrow you play Portugal who you've had the upper hand against so you should feel confident. I think you'll get a point, but maybe even the full 3.
Germany vs Holland will be epic tomorrow.
I can't wait for tomorrows games. So much on the line.
-
Yeah its really going to be exciting! Even 1 point is enough if some of the other results goes to Denmark's advantage :) And also the huge game of Holland-Germany will really be a tough one ! :13: but an incredible game, for sure! cheering for the germans :1rij:
-
1-0 GO PORTUGAAAAL.
-
BAM 2-0
-
Denmark will be very difficult to move to the next round this group is quite complicated
-
A lot will be decided in portuga-netherlands.
-
Soo happy. not only did they win, both big talents of portugal (Varela, oliveira) did great things with the time they had. If only Ronaldo can get some confidence.
-
:sign0135:DAAAAAAMN!!!! Denmark, why did u let me down?? :021: Only chance now is: Germany beats the hell outta Holland, Denmark scores 1 point against the germans, Portugal loses to Netherlands...Reeeaaally hope its gonna end that way! :1rij:
-
Was that really C.Ronaldo playing out there. He looked a shadow of himself. Really exciting match though, but Portugal need to improve in defence if they want to beat Holland in their next match.
-
Sick goal by Gomez. Such a great 1st touch to set up his finish.
-
Looking sour for denmark :p. Germany isnt the team to give away free points.
-
Robin Van Persie! What a goal with his weaker foot! Come back on?
-
Apart from the goal and next 5 min, netherlands performance is beyond weak.
-
the quality of football being played in this group is great and all the goals scored today were awesome :great:
Germany look really strong. Schweinsteiger and Khedira are dominating. I think Portugal will get 2nd place. Netherlands look far too weak.
-
I think Denmark will advance as an outsider
-

He gives himself the task of leading portugal in this tournament and the pressure is killing him. + ofc every single team has double defense on him giving him almost no room to do shit.
-
If only Ronaldo can get some confidence.
Strange that a player with close to 70 goals in a season could need more confidence. :a102:
-
Germany controlled the game for the most part. Holland looks a like weak side... who would've thought that after their performances these past few years?!
- Schweinstager is looking better each game... he'll continue to improve as his fitness improves. Two great assists.
- Ozil looked a bit out of it, seems he's getting tired pretty fast.
- Gomez was stellar... insane control and finishing; something I can't say of him all the time.
- Neuer looking solid but not needed that much so far.
- Boateng with another big block and last ditch tackle... he's been a big part of our success so far.
- Credit to Badstuber, Hummels, and Lahm as well. Our defense is one of the best. People don't realize how good Badstuber is and Hummel's doesn't get enough credit either just because they play in Germany. Shame. A guy like Mertesacker player for Arsenal and people think he's a big player... only big thing about him is his size. Badstuber and Hummels have more ability in their left toe and they're just 23 years old.
-
Van der Vaart talking shit before the Germany game:
"I can count only three outstanding players in the Germany squad: Ozil, Gotze and Schweinsteiger," he told NUsport. "Their defence is okay, but that's all.
“I think we have more quality. But football is also about confidence, and that's what they will have now.”
:ecomcity: :67: :wee_hee:
:s_bye2:

Germany 0:0 Holland ... Low not worried... just havin some fun.

Hhahaa look at the boys face expression when Löw pushes the ball outta his hands!:)
-
good thing germany will finish 1st in the group - means russia will be facing somebody else
and out of those 3 teams: so far russia looks much stronger (personal, very biased opinion ofc haha i m russian afterall)
russia deserves to be in the semis imo

Don't think you're wrong. Even though you're biased, I think you're right as well.
I'm still nervous something could happen to Germany. If they lose and Portugal wins, they could get knocked out. What an injustice that would be. :(

Thats true...it would be real unfair if germany were knocked out..its gonna be them and denmark in the finals :)

Moment of truth. I think Super Mario is ready.

Netherlands is trying to play an open game to score a lot. TOo bad for them Portugal is one of the best teams in the world when Its open.
GO PORTUGAL!
-
Ronaldo is playing like a man possessed at the moment. The Dutch will be lucky to keep him out of the goal any more. If it continues like this, I cannot see anything but a comfortable win for Portugal.
-
Deeeeeenmmmaaaaaark PLEASE win or get a draw, then Holland PLEASE win!! :whoo:
-
Ronaldo playing like he does for Real. Big game for him.
-
Netherlands really are lucky Ronaldo doesn't have 3 or 4 goals at the moment. He has been amazing today.
-
2 Goals 2 times the post. Ronaldo is back to lead Portugal trough the quarter finals.
And he should have had at least an assist aswell.
-
Ronaldo looked calm in front of goal today. Just like he does at madrid.
Credit to Denmark for playing very well vs Germany, but the Germans were too good today. Germany pass the ball so quickly and play with so much energy.
-
I was scared there for a while. Denmark should've gotten a penalty to make it 2-1. Scary shit to say the least!
Anyways, Portugal and Germany through. Germany plays Greece and Portugal has the Czechs.
I'll say it now... keep an eye on Portugal. I think they could upset Spain in the semis.
-
penalty? :017: you mean the one where badstuber grabbed the shirt of bendtner? That was too soft for a penalty i thought.
Can't believe you are looking for Spain in the semi-final already haha. Spain's opponent in the quarter-final is not even known yet. But yes Portugal look decent. Nani and Ronaldo are hitting form and the defence looks decent vs big teams in the group of death.
-
It sucks that Denmark are out...but anyway, now i think that it will be Germany - Portugal in the finale :) Portugal will kick ass from now on

Haha, saw that before but Cacao, Aogo, Tasci, Trochowski, and Marin aren't on this team... they have made appearances before so I understand the picture.
