Is it because footballers generally don't give a shit about freestyle or is it because they are jealous?
-
Its simple, they are ignorant. They know nothing of freestyle and they just see it as tricks.
-
do you think there would be an element of jealousy involved? Since it would be like outsiders watching someone breakdance.
-
Yea it's a little bit if jelousy and some poking fun. Nothing that harmful. Instead of freestylers hating football for this reason, maybe it's time to grow up and have some of your own jabs when someone pokes fun about that.
-
I love when idiots are saying this...then I can give them a panna
-
because they can't freestyle like us... :098:  :victory:

I don't think it's because of any of these reasons. I hate the stereotype "haters are jealous."
Did it ever occur that maybe they plain don't like freestyle? I think nascar is beyond stupid, and I am in no way jealous of driving a car in a circle for 200 laps. I think freestylers have a hard time accepting that not everyone likes freestyle.

I think most people think it's cool though and give the freestylers credit. I personally don't know anyone who doesn't at least think freestyle is cool. Even 100% footballers will say those moves are cool. The few that don't have another issue... they are just poking fun and trying to give you a hard time. They don't know that freestylers are not interested in using those moves on the pitch. I think if you simply tell them "mate, I just like to freestyle and practice my freestyle moves for shows and whatnot" they will understand your angle. If you tell them you can school them on the pitch with those moves, then yes, they'll be annoyed. I think freestylers just need to explain that they freestyle and don't plan on using the moves on the pitch... it's a different sport. That should explain things...

Most people that say this couldn't kick a football straight if their lives depended on it. Most footballers of a half-way decent level would appreciate your skills as a freestyler. What I don't understand is why people care so much. The connection between football and freestyle is there, but we shouldn't obsess about how they are different. If you like football and freestyle both great for you. If you only like one or the other, that's perfectly fine, but quit obsessing about other group's opinion.
