No offence to Ethan and Brian, because they've got amazing lowers and are cool guys, but as judges for such a competition? Seriously...?

Are you running out of ideas for judges each year or just not satisfied with the type of freestylers that get through to the final 16 or you just want to cause a WTF effect?

i agree with miran, congratz to ethan and brian ofc

i guess no matter what we say now - lucaso's choice of judges won't be changed

are the judges getting a free trip and free accommodation?

I got your point. I am not sure you know Ethan as well as I do. He is one of the most experienced and strong opinionated active freestylers I have ever met. In spite he has not many experienced in judging I am sure he is bright choice.
What choice would you do if you have the power to change it? Tell me about someone who would complete judging panel on lower side.
Honestly lowers are the most appreciated part of Football Freestyle and it has to be respected. Ethan and Brian will fix this hole and we have complete judging panel which includes respected members of community and strong opinionated freestylers.

And yeah I am dying for WTF effect since I have decided to make big things in everything I do.

If you come with sth better I would admit I had been wrong. Please be my guest :)

Yes, those are some strong arguments: lowers are the most important, so 3 out of 5 judges should be lower experts or lower oriented freestylers.  :great:

Last time I checked, this was still an all-round competition, but at least you'll have a good jury for Sick Three. :)

Doesn't matter what I'd suggest, because you'll just ignore it and do it your way anyways, which is somewhat logical since you're the main man in charge, but not in the extent that you don't even want to listen to anything that defies your view of freestyle football, which, unfortunately, isn't very broad minded to begin with.

I don't see any arguments that could reason with choosing 2 freestylers, that have NEVER judged a competition (correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Ethan has never competed either) in their career/life, for such an event, but I guess it's more important to ensure that Gunther, FX, ARS, etc. get through the groups than to have an appropriate jury for an event like this one.

Even if I don't agree with some of the choices you make, I still wish you all the best with this competition and hope everything turns out well in the end.

big respect to ethan and brian of course but instead i would prefer judges like Dan Magness, Jeon Kwon, John Whetton or Oli. Or maybe some old school guys like Mr. Woo, Nam the Man, Abbas or Touzani. John Farnworth too if he is willing.

All those have decent allround skills but more importantly have a lot of experience performing and competing.

its not just about the jury or judges. the whole battle system is screwed up. how do you put 2 different disciplines vs each other in the first place? i am against the battle system where you put 2 completely different styles against each other. like clem vs ARS
i only watch prague videos for the great combos and atmosphere :D not the battles :P

Oh come on!!!! Magness or Woo??? Who is next? Wingrove and Lynch? Are you serious? I need someone who cares about community from at least half like me... And how can performing expierence help you in judging competition?
JF doesnt really give a damn about community and somehow he is not showing himself on international competitions or meetings to show his interest in spite he is expierenced and well known.
All players has the right not to compete so if anyone is upset with choice I did dont have to even come. Also everybody know rules of battle so if you dont agree with a single thing you are free to stand up and complain.
For Miran: I have never seriously say I dont respect your opinion. You ideas are very valuated for me but I am just doing what I think is the best. Still this is all round competition. You focus on critisizing only two judges choice and call my view limited? If I would insist on turning this into lower competition then why should I invite Sean, Daniel or Palle?
I am open minded for every opinions and thank you for your view but as you said I am in charge and every change made after official announcement would crash my authority.
But I dont regret any single choice I did and I am more than sure Ethan with Brian will do amazing job since they are strong opinionated persons with lot of knowledge.

Any other complains? Bring it on.

I also was uncertain about Ethan and Brian to be judges (nothing personal against them, i just felt that judges should be really experienced in competitions and be a bit older) but when I look at the 5-man panel as a whole its actually well-balanced and theyre all good people who love freestyle. Brian came all the way from south africa last year with his own money so just for that he deserves his free flight this year haha

but yeah, if we could have gotten magness, lynch and wingrove instead it would have been way better

I really respect what you do for the community Lucaso.

I think the panel of judges is really good, but there's no one on the panel that really understands uppers. I think you should have gotten someone like luki, turlakov, or even bengau to be on the panel. Just my opinion!

I think a lot of people never think of Max for example, who has been in the freestyle scene for a very long time, has a lot of experience and knowledge of freestyle.

But I think Ethan and Brian are not a bad choice. Even if they're specialized in lowers, doesn't mean they are stupid and will vote for lowers only. I think they are clever enough to be able to judge a battle fairly and open-minded. Plus, they care for the community, in opposition to JF, Woo or other people mentioned above and that's a reason enough for me that Ethan&Brian deserve the spot more than any of them. Personally I would have chosen one of them and replaced the other one with Max, Camill or Daniel (irish fag) for example. Moreover, some people mentioned Luki for example, but I think he will rather compete than judge this competition since he has a good chance of winning it or at least coming very far.

As for the rest of the judges, good variety and a wide range of opinions with Daniel, Palle and Séan, well done.

Miran if you spend less time complaining about everything in freestyle you might actually get somewhere. It's always you that is spitting his dummy out of the pram moaning how things aren't fair, stop being a baby and deal with it. You've got 3 older and experienced judges on the panel and you've got 2 younger hardcore guys who have a chance to make for a well balanced 5 man jury. If you want to shoot them down before giving them a chance then fuck you, who are you exactly to say that to them or Lucaso? The guy who failed miserably last year and couldn't take it like a man so smashed his ball across the field like a cry baby attention seeker.

I personally think that having Brian and Ethan on the jury is a great idea, don't insult their intelligence just because they excel in primarily one style (the most popular style by far that is). Good job Lucaso as always and congrats to Brian and Ethan I'm sure you will do a great job and it'll be another great competition.

LOOOOOOL! If this wasn't about Ethan, you wouldn't even bother writing a post!

Since it is, here you are, acting all protective, like someone insulted your boyfriend, talking shit about me, instead of making some valid arguments as to why Ethan and Brian would be a good choice for a judge at this competition (obviously you don't really have any), which is pretty fucking pathetic...

Miran if you spend less time complaining about everything in freestyle you might actually get somewhere. It's always you that is spitting his dummy out of the pram moaning how things aren't fair, stop being a baby and deal with it.
Unlike you, I'm not a spineless fuck who just doesn't give a fuck about the things that are going on in the FS world and accepts everything for what it is.

If there's something that I don't agree with or think could be done differently (for the better), I'll say it. I don't complain just for the sake of complaining. In 2009, Lucaso put together (IMHO) probably the best jury in FS competitions so far (Rocco, Petike, Tommy, Séan, Azun), did I complain about the jury then? I give credit where credit is due.

In the end, I'm allowed to express my opinion, that's what forums are for after all and it's better that I express it here, publicly, rather than bitching about it privately with my buddies and acting everything's good, like most of you do.

The guy who failed miserably last year and couldn't take it like a man so smashed his ball across the field like a cry baby attention seeker.
Yes, I may have failed (although I did pass through to the next round), but at least I was IN the competition, unlike you, who were walking around with a beer during the entire competition and I certainly didn't kick the ball because I was seeking attention, but because I was angry with my performance, so sincerely, fuck off. :)

I personally think that having Brian and Ethan on the jury is a great idea, don't insult their intelligence just because they excel in primarily one style (the most popular style by far that is).
Show me where and/or how did I "insult their intelligence".

I never questioned Ethan's or Brian's knowledge about FS or said they would be/are bad judges, which is what some or most of you got from my post, so stop taking my posts out of context how it suits you and then writing BS like this...

Palle, Matte, Rocco , Luki, Séan

Palle is in, Matte stopped (according his words), Rocco competes, Luki competes, Séan is in.
You know its not easy to find out guys who would prefer to sit on a bench and judge players instead of being one of the players and try to get some medals...

This jury is final and nobody can do anything about it. Thank you for your opinions and I hope most of you come anyway  :great:

I'm pretty happy with the judges, fantastic job once again Lucaso!
Even though I personally wouldn't take a crew-freestyler as a judge who might prefers to pick his crew-members but that's probably far-fetched and a prejudice.
