Title: Red Bull Street Style info
Post by: Miran Pirner on Apr 28, 2008, 06:06: PM
Just wanted to post this so there isn't any more confusion about the event or comments like "only 7 countries? wtf"?".
Only thing I have to say is that I will be a shame that for example, not all great freestylers from countries like Sweden, France, Germany, UK, etc. will be able to participate at the World Final, but winners from other countries that aren't all that good will be there, but that's life for ya. But on the other hand, it will be insane at the World Finals because of the all quality freestylers from all around the world and we'll get a chance who's really the best in the world, because everyone can participate in this competition, so there won't be any excuses...

Hahahaha... Yes, it says the first final will be in May, but in Kuwait. I don't see what does that have to do with Venezuela or any other country for that matter. Countries have until November to host the event and get their winner.
And the fact that there's nothing about the event on the Red Bull Venezuela web site, doesn't mean anything and probably has something to do with the fact that they probably don't have all the details yet...

You forget that they can't make a competition in some country if they don't have their branch office in that country... So it's not about choosing the best freestyle countries and making events in that country. And maybe those countries didn't want to host Street Style, don't be so close minded...

let's formulate my sentence again:

I can't believe Holland doesn't want to host Street Style or has no Red Bull office in their country.
I'm not close minded  :stupid:

Thomas, you like making my life more difficult, don't you?
With close minded I was talking about whenever someone doesn't see some country on the list, they think "oh, what a crappy competition, country xxxxx isn't in it", they don't think about other possibilities why the country isn't in the competition.

Dude I don't think it's gonna be a crappy comp at all, i think it will be the coolest freestyle comp ever.
So you the close minded thingy wasn't meant for me?

I think they mean that for catching the ball with your hands, like when you fail a trick, etc. and of course, stuff like basketball tricks... Because if you look at the Red Bull Reaccion, they did some stuff with their hands.
And yes, I already said that I think it's a shame that some people won't be able to attend it because of various reasons, but I still like this concept much better than MOTG, Eurobac, etc.

Well, I really don't know, and I don't want to fight  but I don't see anyway that this would be better than Motg or Eurobac, I think you mean because of there will be loads of freestylers from loads of countries; but I bet this won't be better, especially because of the judges, maybe I'm wrong, but when I went to Red Bull Reaccion judges didn't know a sh** about freestyle, and maybe those freestylers who everyone think will win in each places, won't get to the final in Brazil.. even if they were the best on each country.
But this is just my point of view, and as I said before, maybe this time Red Bull will judge different with people that know something about freestyle, and I hope so :)

I think this is better than MOTG or Eurobac because anyone can sign up, there are no invitations for the "chosen few". About the judges, Reaccion was a "prototype", this will be the real thing, so everything, including the judges should be on a higher level, especially in Rio. But someone will always complain about the judges, no matter what... End of story. :)

I heard Nedjad Bajic will come here (to croatia) to compete. I'm sick of that shit; competing under 2174724 diffrent countries where and whenever it suites 'em the best, fuck that!

just to let you guys know...

On the 24th of may there will be an European Redbull Street style.
The best 16 freestylers of europe will battle against each other in Vienna.

So this event will be held on the same day as the austrian open redbull and is an european championship freestyle (you could say its eurobac 2008 aswell)

No, what Daniel is talking about it a competition of it's own, something like a promotion for the Street Style. You can still participate in your own country or like Nedzad, in a country you have nothing to do with, lol.

Local freestyler Jesús Gómez was the best in the first Red Bull Street Style event, performed friday may 16th in Málaga. The 20-years-old contestant defeated to another local player, Miguel Serrano, that forzed an extra time in the final round. This two guys will travel with Tarik Zariouh (3erd) and Giancarlo Brioni (4th) to the spanish national final, that will take place in Sevilla next june 13th.

The crowd enjoyed a lot with the spectacular tricks of the nineteen freestylers that competed in Plaza de la Marina, a neuralgic point of this beautiful andalucian city. Gómez, one the favourites to the final victory, had to beat some good players to reach the final. Serrano, who was a little bit afraid about the quality of his rival, made his best performance at the final round, but it was not enough to beat the great Gómez.

Congrats Gomez!

i think that timo will be there too.

i´m sure that camill and tommy won´t be there.

tommy will do a lp with me in rust and camill has another one.

and i think that the competition works like this:

there are 50 fs´er that can sing up, 16 will go to the second round

in the second round will be 16 invited fs´er and the 16 fs´er that got through the first round.

they will make a pool with 32 fs´er and there will always be 1vs1 battles.

the best fs´er gets to the finals in sao paulo

that´s it
