Not neccessarily. Especially in some sciences that are still rising up, experts in these fields usually go up to Wiki to write info about their stuff, so that by chance someone will pick it up and may be get interested in pursuing it or tell other people.
I guess the same purpose drove Acquaviva to do this. But my reactions reading it is just:
