So I am a beginner freestyler and I would like to know how to get better. I practice for at least an hour a day about 4 days a week. Is this enough?
When I do practice I mostly do juggling practice with tricks like ATW, Crossover, Pancake. I mostly practice with a boom box as well.
What should I do to warm up? Also I have about $70 Nike Tiempo Indoor soccer shoes. I use them for freestyling.
Any tips for me? I will answer any questions that you need as well. I look forward to your responses :)

im a :sign0104: too but i would recommend some stretching as a warm up, its easy to pull something. Practice wise, as much as you can is good. For tricks, work on getting as consistent as possible at tricks that you can do. That is the end of my knowledge for learning how to freestyle. Good luck.

My warm up for freestyle is freestyle. You could also learn toe bounce if your into pancakes and htw. And yes, try to get more consistent in tricks.
Take a look at this too:

Ok Noah I will stretch before I start freestyling. What stretches should I do? Also should I stretch after I freestyle or should I cool down at all? I do need to practice my basic tricks more. Is 400 keep ups a good record?
I definitely will practice toe bounce. Do you have a link to a good tutorial? I cannot do htw. I always miss the ball when coming back down. It feels like I am learning ATW all over when i try to do HTW.
-
I would say any stretches that are good, 400 juggles is good if you are relaxed and controlled when you do them, im not sure about cooling down.
-
do a warm-up where you run and you do various moves such as this: Freestyle Football Tricks - Warm Up (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTaLGh_MKCM#)
so legs will be ready for freestyle=) and when you "open" its easier to do tricks=) I recommend!
also, when you stop freestyle do a bit juggling and some long strechtes in the evening so your legs will be ready next day as well=)

When I do alot of juggles (400) I am not that controlled. My touch is not great and it it sporadic. I have to constantly fetch my bad touch. What can I do...just practice moreĆ
-
I think I understood your question. For the control, try to juggle with your fingers(toes work best) and try to touch the ball in the middle so the ball
doesn't have a spin, and then you will be able to control it good. Yes, it is just practice
And for the shoes, maybe, if you can, take another model like Nike T1, T3, they are better for fs, by my opinion

I feel that I am practicing the basics like ATW and Crossover but I dont seem to be getting too much better. I want to get better fast like kids at my school. But I guess it just doesn't happen overnight, hard work and perserverence eh guys?
Are there any inspirational FS videos or songs that can get me going?

anything skora related or i like to watch what freestyle has become

Great thanx Noah. How do I get my freestyle video on to this forum? I cant upload it to youtube because it is an .avi and it takes forever. Any Idea???

the more you train, the better you get.
-
I am definitely noticing improvement. I just need more consistency now. Gonna train alot in the summer. Need motivation guys :great:

man if you are a beginner and you cannot find motivation I do not think freestyle is for you....
Maybe you feel intimidated by all these fancy lower guys with there j9skatws and what not, but the only motivation you should need is the thrill to get better. If you're lacking motivation now, I would think you would be dead once you learned to do your first latw...

True. I honestly havent freestyle in like a week. And I have had ample time. I wish I could motivate myself. I PROMISE I will do it tommorow though.

You're still going in the complete wrong direction. You should never feel like you have to practice freestyle. If you're out there because you feel like you have to be you won't improve very fast. This applies for any sport mate...

What are you saying? I really feel like freestyling is a "chore" for than fun. Are you saying I should just quit instead of trying to get better? Because quiting isn't going to get me any better. Quiters never win. Winners never quit mate!
-
first, dont quit, he is just saying that it shouldnt feel like you have to practice, you should practice because you want, not have to.

No man don't quit! I'm just saying I'm surprised you lost motivation this early on, most people don't lose motivation until they achieve great heights,
What I'm saying is if you feel it is a chore, you will improve slowly.

Freestyling is definitely for you :great:

Ok thanks guys I won't quit :) I will just try my best to practice whenever I can. As long as I improve I will be fine :c017:

Thats the spirit! Don't Quit!
