Real Madrid vs Barcelona - Classico, Cup & Champions League
These teams meet 4 times over the next few weeks.
Let's use this thread to discuss all games between the two teams. This will be special! :great:
-
Real Madrid will have this I think....got a feeling Barca are gonna feel a couple of injuries at bad times.
-
i hope madrid wins. If Mourinho sets up the team to defend very well for the whole 180 minutes and then get 1 very late late goal from a corner kick or free kick then maybe......but that is just one very optimistic madrid fan's point of view.
If i was to be realisitic i would say madrid are about to get hammered 5-0 again :17:
-
I just editing this thread so it's for all the games between these two teams. We have 4 coming up!
I really think Madrid has a solid chance at home. I'm not sure who's starting out with the home game in the Champions League, but if it's Madrid, it will certainly be more interesting. If Barca is at home first, this will be over after the first leg.
Mourinho can make the other team panic, and his defensive tactics can be effective if he can carry a lead into the second leg.
-
i always liked madrid because they never backed down from anyone and always played attacking football. So I'm not sure i am happy with mourinho's defensive tactics in the 1-1 draw on saturday. It was somewhat effective yes but i dunno *sigh*.........Hala Madrid (in a hushed tone)
Ozil hopefully will start the copa del rey final. I do not care if we get trashed......i just want to see madrid play confident, attacking football like always.

oh was game boring? then it's cool if i don't remember a thing from it
-
No, it wasn't boring. :)
The match was joyful with Barcelona passing the ball around the Madrid players finding their way through every now and then. Mourinhos tactic worked well tho and Madrid had quite a few good chances on their quick counterattacks.. But to be honest, Barca could have taken a comfortable win after Albiol was sent of.... instead they relaxed and slowed down the pace..
We're up for another fantastic game tomorrow
-
HALA MADRID! They deserved it. I'm happy for them. :You_Rock_Emoticon:
stupid guardiola and his silly tactics. Mourinho changed his tactics and guardiola acted like it was 1998.
LOSERS LOSERS!!! :P
he should have used bojan instead of that horse face villa. Instead, baldy used afellay... WHAT!??? AFELLAY!!??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?
Guardiola shouldn't have played possession football, they should have just gone for it. Put milito and batra in the back. Take out that sh!t mascherano. Remove villa from the start and use bojan.
I know I'm a barca fan, but I also like madrid and they deserved the win big time.
-
very surprised by this result. Nice header by ronnie and very good cross by di maria too. Now i am actually optimistic about madrid's champ league chances vs barca. I think mourinho can pull it off again......but im not sure.
Hopefully mourinho rests his key players on the weekend before the champ league clasico next week because that match will be intense :040: Even though the weekend match is against a very good valencia team it is not important because the league title is lost
1st leg at the bernabeu will give madrid the advantage i think, but we will see..........
-
Guardiola should change his tactics. PERIOD.
possession football won't make you look good when pepe, ramos, and carvalho will destroy your attackers.
-
Its the only thing they have and will win in recent time.
-
It's all about where the first game is played. Madrid will always havea good chance if they play at home. If Madrid starts at home and can pull of a result, Mourinho's defensive tactics will be much more effective on the road. Pressure will be on Barcelona.
Nice to see Madrid win one of these.
-
haha Madrid won in Copa del Rey, but Barça will win in UEFA CL.
-
if kaka, ozil, c ronaldo, adebayor are the front men in these matches... :17:
stupid dependence on messi in the last match. I really hope guardiola does something to counter real's defensive tactics, coz messi can't do it on his own.
I was really impressed by Pepe. What a defender.
-
Champions League match is coming up in an hour. Can't wait!
Here is a beautiful animation of the 5-0 Barca win from a while ago:

arrrgghh!! lionel messi is unstoppable! Seriously, how do u stop him? :017:
Referee made a shit decision though for pepe's red card.
Well, now for sure we will see an attacking madrid in the second leg. The 1st leg was so boring :015: except the 2 goals. 2nd leg will be excitng though.....my prediction: 3-2 to barca. With a hat-trick from the Messiah!
-
Huge decision by the ref that completely swayed the game. Pepe deserved a yellow, but not a red. He held is down in the middle and made life hard on Xavi. As soon as they lost Pepe, it was over.
-
Barca might be the best side in Europe but they're fucking disgraceful. Rolling around, acting, waving imaginary cards ... the list goes on.
And yet another game where when it's not going exactly as planned the ref helps out a bit and pulls out a red.
A fucking stretcher?! Gimme a break, Alves.

yeh agreed, pedro and alves are a disgrace. Marcelo accidently stepped on pedro's knee and the way pedro cried in agony i honestly thought he had a career-ending injury or smth. But 1 minute later he was making a run down the wing at full speed
But madrid players can be accused of the same things. Di maria and marcelo asked for yellow cards every time the ref blew the whistle for anything at all. And Di maria took 2 blatant dives during this match as well.
Casillas made some really awesome saves btw.
-
The 1st leg was so boring :015: except the 2 goals.
really? i red from this game in the news and it sounded like interesting game to watch? :017:
and about all the crying and acting, it's part of football nowadays, you must be able to not stomp on no ones foot even by accident, or do it so referees can't see what you did. if you play you should know it

barca had about 70 percent possession and most of it was in their defensive half of the field. Only in the last 20 minutes the game started to get more lively after barca scored and madrid tried to stop defending so much. Most of the game was barca making sideway passes and backward passes while madrid sat back.
And yeh i realise football is this way now with all the acting and diving but i still think it is wrong. It wastes time for fans who want to watch pure football. Alves needed to be stretchered off which took about 2 minutes and then he was magically healed 5 seconds later. Pedro took even longer to get up. Also, it is cheating and give football players the reputation of being soft cry-cry babies.

this can't be first time you are seeing these magical healings (halleluja! :cheer:). so why are you making this one so big? if you can get someone lose a player with you acting, wouldn't you dive? according to your logic every single players are cry babies then?

No I would never dive. Not my style.....but i kinda understand why some players would do it. I know winning is really important and it is just a game anyway :ecomcity:......but still i think it spoils the football spectacle.
I'm making this one big because it was sooo ridiculous!! A stretcher?! :embarrassed: Most players roll around a bit then get up and walk it off like a man. How far will this acting stuff go? Next we may see players pretending to be dead or smth and lay motionless for an hour. I don't want to see these things when i turn on my tv to watch football. Waste of my time tbh.
And i don't think they are cry babies cause i know they are just acting, but i'm sayin they give football this soft cry-cry reputation among fans of other sports.
-
i get your point, but it's just very big advantage to be theatrical, so why not to do it?
and there's HUGE amount of situation where player "gets hurt" and lies down for 5 minutes, goes on the side of the field, and then come's back in full force... and even if you really get hurt, if you don't break bones, you are able to play. Because the adrenaline you won't feel so much pain. The next day will be hell though this i have seen in my own experience :D
when is the second leg btw? :017:
-
The first half was crap.
I agree with Golo, too much whining. Even other pros went off on Barca through their Twitter accounts and whatnot.
Barca needs to tone this down. They can beat teams without doing this annoying stuff. People will begin hating on them for this.
-
More of the usual today... Barcelona dominating and Madrid playing on the defensive end despite being 2-0 down.
Can't believe they didn't press more and attack considering they were 2-0 down coming into the match.
-
The Barca diving has to stop though.
-
madrid tried to attack but they just outclassed. Forget the diving and the bad referee decisions because barca were clearly better anyway. Lass diarra really impressed me. He kept possession well and tackled well too.
Casillas' save on villa was spectacular! :undecided: and what is wrong with adebayor? haha he is so clumsy lol.
Madrid will be back next year though :040: They have a great young team that is improving. Next year for sure.....i can feel it :celebrate: Hala Madrid!!
-
I didn't see much from Lass. Thought he went after the man rather than the ball most of the time.
-
the match was soooooooo boring... omg. 31 fouls by real!? :embarrassed:
play stop play stop play stop
3 shots by madrid???
flippin 'ell...
I was really hoping the starting 11 would have benzema, kaka, di maria, cronaldo, and ozil...
-
yeh benzema should have started. No doubt because he deserved it after his great form this season. He really improved under mourinho as well. I was hoping for a very attacking line-up as well but it was never going to happen in a mourinho team
And i know lass gave up some fouls but he genuinely went for the ball most of the time and got the ball most times. But his close control in tight spaces was what really impressed me. He does it vs. the small teams regularly but never before vs. barca.
Anyway, nuri sahin may play alongside alonso next year, leaving lass on the bench. Ive never seen sahin play but i hear good things about him. A good central midfielder is the final piece in the madrid puzzle! :Woot_Emoticon:

Osama bin Laden was caught wearing a Barcelonas shirt, it's still not clear whether he's dead or just acting
