What do you consider 'cheating'?
It's funny when it comes to some peoples opinions on the subject. Do you not agree that you should do everything in your power to benefit your freestyle?
If a swimmer wears a special swim suit that makes him swim faster and every other swimmer has access to this swim suit, do you really see it as cheating?
What about when a runner wears a slightly lighter shoe compared to the runner next to him? Is he a cheater too? The runner next to him can buy the same shoes if he wants..
If a freestyler uses a smaller ball, flat ball, no shorts...is he really cheating?
Shaving your head bald will make your uppers better, is that cheating too?
-
for me there's no such a thing as cheating in fs.
-
Skora is cheating, he practises 25 hours a day.
-
You've got a point there.. Well, to be honest I think that people who say that using a flat ball is cheating are just ignorant..because personally I could not freestyle with a flat ball...it's just what you're used to, so there's no such thing as cheating.
-
I gree, flat ball change nothing it's just a used to. But for example long combo are easier for me with a monta ball as with a normal size and weight, but i prefer normal ball for nt. So they are different point of view, for me
-
Once you adapt to using a flat ball it would make some things much easier but at the expense of others.
So accusing freestylers' who use softer balls of cheating is ludicrous.

:great:
-
someone could take performance enhancing drugs.
-
Well, yeah, if for example you consider something taking drugs in order to improve faster in freestyle... fortunately that drug, in my knowledge, don't exist!
I think it's all about the question of what you're used to. After all, every ball will fall with the same acceleration = 9.8m/s^2. So in the long run, I don't think there's any difference between the skill level of one learning tricks in that ball, and one with the fully bumped up ball. In the short term, may be the struggle in differences in touch can occur, but for the long run, I don't think a flat ball will benefit much.
Just my opinion.
-
its not cheating. its just easier to do hard tricks with no shoes and smaller ball... the hitpoint of the ball is smaler and that makes it harder. but when you get that perfect touch, its way easier to get around...
-
People that are practicing freestyle on a regular basic is cheaters imo.
-
smaller ball = smaller revolutions = easier to get around = less time to make rotations = landing tricks.
If I fsed with a size 3 ball, you guys would call me a cheater (Y) and if you didn't, and I landed 4 atw (nt) before someone did it with a normal sized ball, would I still have the right to name it? What if I also did it without shoes?
There is cheating, no one of you will change my mind. "FREEstyle" is used loosely, I don't mind people that use 4.5 size ball and wear no shoes, but they will never get the same respect to someone who uses size 5 and shoes.
-
i've done patw with a monta rbss ball and without shoes 2 times in a row but i needed 3 months to get it with whoes and a regular ball. so yes for me there is such a thing as cheating. still dont take anything away from akim. he is incredible.
-
DOPE/DRUGS :P
-
there its not cheating cause .. the 4.5 monta ball ..is the oficial ball of redbull streetstyle the biggest event in the sport so i think that all of us we should use that ball... but there its a problem n, not everybody can get it .. cause in my country doesnt have it --.-..
-

More?*
Let's apply the same logic to shoes:
Lighter shoes = quicker feet = faster movement = more time to make rotations = landings moves.
Is having lighter shoes considered cheating also?

Thanks for fixing that ;)
Shoes are a matter of preference, I don't think it should apply here...

Bull to the Shit.
the ball is a piece of shit, monta should be ashamed to call this the ball and even produce this for the so called wolrd championships. i mean they had some great chances to make proper profit out of freestyle but the only thing they did was producing shit balls with childish dragons on it. plus the clothes arent cool either.

No problem.
But when freestylers don't wear shoes they are accused of cheating due to the lightness of their not having shoes on. If I wear sprinter shoes(they weight like 50 grams lol) wouldn't that be the same?
Why aren't some of the other accusers of freestyle forwarding their opinions?

I still think that if the shoes are available to everyone, it's a matter of preference. No matter what, having shoes (even if they are 50grams haha) still add a heaviness to your foot that is hard to overcome.

Can't the same be said about balls?

its freestyle theres no cheating unless u poison a freestyler or injure them before a battle or something haha

agreed.
also, monta SAID they were 4.5 size balls but i had the old monta balls that were 4.5 and the RBSS ones defs felt smaller and lighter and not round. old monta balls were good, RBSS ones were shit.

Nope, not the way I look at it. (your views may differ from mine.)
Shoes are what cover your feet, and your foot size is an uncontrollable variable (everyone's shoe size is different.) - So Size and Weight do not matter here. (since your foot size is uncontrollable, shoe weight is up to you.)
I think everyone *my opinion* should use a size 5, so no one has an extra unfair advantage.
No matter what, shoes are going to add a heavy feeling to your foot, so even if you are wearing a 50 gram pair of shoes, you are still going to have a WAY heavier resistance than not wearing any shoes at all.
-
I don't think there's any cheating. I just prefer it when people use a size 5 ball because it looks better and for me at least it feels harder and gives more respect.
I wouldn't ever consider it cheating because people should be able to do whatever they want and have fun with that.

Havent you ever heard of steriods ? ;)

no cheats, just less respect ;)
and about monta beeing the standard ball and the so called "4.5 size"
Fuck that!
Freestyle is not Monta...
