Title: Making less and less money from Busking.

Aite so...recently the amount i make when busking is going downhill. i first started bsuking last april ( April 2010 ) and between then and, say, August i was making minimum £150 for around 2 hours, but recently in the past 4 months ive busked about 8 times and havent made it above 100!. I always do it in the same location on the same highstreet..? maybe people are seeing me too much? Maybe its just the fact its still winter.. i dunno? Has this happened to you? Your thoughts would be appreciated..thank you x

of course the weather changes a lot. the general mood of the people and if the like to stay or not.
i would change the location, just to try out different situations, can often make an unexpected difference too.
but anyway 150 pounds for 2 hours sounds pretty niiice

When buksing your not garunteed to make the same amount each time in the same time frame.
Try busking on the weekends during the night around 10pm - 3am on the main street in town

you will get drunks of course but you will learn to deal with them the more u busk.

You may also find a huge increase in your takings.

I busk in a pretty small town, like 3-4 times a week. Of course Fridays and Saturdays are my peaks, and also Wednesdays. One problem for me is that in the beginning, people thought it was awesome, cause they had never seen something like that before. But now, after two years of busking, people don't give me as much attention as they did in the beginning.

BUT, i have noticed a big difference in the amount of people coming forward to me and talking about hire me for different events. So i have lost some money in the sense of busking, but i have earned allot more payed gigs. I think it's cause people start recognize me and also know what the get if they hire me.

Hmmm well id never really wana busk at night...especially in Belfast around drunks haha. Plus at the weekends i am one of those drunk people. Neways...i chnage in location might work, but this highstreet is always really busy...
What clothing is the best? like a Football shirt maybe? Also maybe i need a new shiny ball..? lol help!

In the past i have worn a football shirt sometimes haters dont pay coz i dnt support there club ! its best to wear non branded t shirt imo.

shiney or not ! dosent really matter. myt visually look good but its up 2 u really .

its always good to busk  it improves u as a performer and ur freestyler no doubt.Don't stop!

do u use a amp for music !?

music does help a lot, especially when you go with the beat of a song and stuff, but choosing the right song is very important. Don't have like songs with a very fast beat and stuff, that kills it. also the type of tricks you do matters a lot! don't go too much into the hardcore, and focus more on tricks that look stylish. I'm not too good with lp's but I thought I'd share this

it goes up and down ....its just something yowu have to accept.

In sweden for example all people get paid on the 25th ...the week after is the best for busking .
Another problem is that nowadays people pay more with cards then cash in most countries ..

I dont know about your countries but in our country there arent money,people get paid for 700 euros a month.

This is true to an extent, but when I do faster uppers (sideheads/body) I use a fast beat, fast music goes good with explosive combos.
