Title: Shin Splints?
Post by: shobhitdatta280592 on Feb 01, 2011, 07:05: AM
Recently, I've been doing lots of TATW-MATW NT, LTATW and LATW-TATW attempts.
And although I have nailed these very few times, I've attempted these really lots in one session.

And during the later stage of the practice session, I have started experiencing really severe pain in the front-left-ish area of my right shin, and the pain also continues after the training session for about an hour I think.

Is this some serious problem or does it happen to almost everybody?
Please suggest how to avoid this painful dilemma, I fear it might turn into something even worse if I keep on continuing my training like this.
Would really appreciate your thoughts on this!

Bro, if it hurts, get to a doctor. The more you train with pain, the worst it'll get. Don't be dumb and not listen to the doctor either, a lot of people (I include myself) disobey doctors orders and end up hurting themselves more. If it hurts bad, get to a doctor. That's my moms motto.

I'll be taking a break from lowers for 1 week
Then I'll see if it hurts again or not.
If it does, well then I will go to a doctor.
Hope the doctor doesn't tell me to ditch Freestyle forever

I have the same problem, but im just getting back into freestyle.
I take anti inflammatory medicine to help with the pain, and rest.
I try to train 1 hour a day but you probably do more than that from what you have said,  try limit your training for now.

Yeah man I'm still on my 1 week break. Maybe I'll take another week off just to see if the pain is still there or not.
Do you feel that the anti inflammatory medicine that you're taking is helping?
Currently, I'm without any medicine, just taking a full break from lowers.
Do you use any bandage or anything over the shin for making it feel firm?

Yeah Damian, please do let me know of some of the exercises you do, and I will go to a physiotherapist soon.
I just hope somehow this shin problem goes away permanently.

Yeah man the anti inflammatory medicine definately helps.
Try some ibuprofen, if not stronger.
I do have a bandage on it when i train though.

Hey thanks a lot for your tips man!
I will take medicine after asking doctor though, or maybe I'll go to physiotherapist first.
Really appreciate your tips man.

rub some DEEPHEAT on it! after that put a ankle compression strap on injurd shin!
Avoid freestyling on ur injurd leg for 1-3 days .That goes for any sort of phyiscal activity u may have to use your injurd leg in.

My brother went to the doctors and they said he had shin spints. The doctor said that he shouldn't completly stop his football training, just do it lighter and that he should ice his shins regurally.

TATW-MATW is not nt ;)
You don't know anything about freestyle.

I used to get this a LOT
what I did was train hard still, but use an ice pack on the pain later after each session. don't know if it worked for anyone else, but it worked for me. my shins got used to it, and I don't really have them anymore.

Hey thanks guys for all your comments and help :great:
But when I went to the doctor, he gave me some calcium and multi-vitamin supplements, and soon after starting having them, the problem went away forever (till now :Woot_Emoticon:)
:sign0066:
Maybe the problem was deficieny, or maybe my shin got used to the landing dunno

OK, I'm stupid. And now could you explain to me how to make tatw matw nt, because i can't imagine it  :017:. I thought nt means no touch, and tatw matw obviously has a touch between them. TNX for the explanation, if you make it  :P

after tatw, ball goes up, instead of waiting till the ball comes down and touches your leg, you jump the matw movement straight after tatw, hence the nt

When u make the tatw, you make the begining of matw in the air?
Now i saw it on YT, i couldn't do that earlier cause something was fucked up with the connectivity, dunno what was it.
 :c017: for the explanation  :You_Rock_Emoticon:

lol. Refer to Palgi's expanation. The first connection for the matw is missed(not touched).
