Bayern's Uli Hoeness:
We could have signed Khedira, but in spring LvG said 'Alaba is better'.
what the coaching search was like last year: Beckenbauer, Nerlinger, Uli, Kalle and Hopfner sat together and each of them wrote down the names of a German and a foreign coach on a piece of paper. LvG got 4 votes. The German coaches named were Schaaf, Löw, Sammer and Klopp.
------------------
:wtf: on the Alaba > Khedira comment.
But glad to see the board has Klopp on the coaching shortlist is LvG doesn't work out much longer. Don't want Low, Sammer, or Schaaf. There's a risk Low might be too much like Klinsmann (good national team coach, poor club coach). Sammer is a fool of a manager, and Schaaf is too one dimensional (too attack oriented).

and is he wearing keeper gloves?

You know it... Kahn's greatness must've gotten to him. :lol_hitting:

How the heck can Messi and Ronaldo score goals so easily? They both have around 30 goals in their last 28 games. :017:
-
Messi juggling a football boot... he'd make a hell of a freestyler with a few weeks of practice. I bet he could pull off some hard ass combos in just a couple of weeks of practice. His touch is too good.

Man Citi's Kolorov has the best strike in the world. Anyone beg to differ? He always put it's on goal with incredible power.
-
messi has good sitdowns too! I saw a vid with him doing some sits with good control. He is my hero :celebrate: El messiah. I hate barca tho :040:

Real and Barca still top rich list
Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barca remain in the top two places in the latest Deloitte Money League, published on Thursday.
The top six places in the table remain unchanged with Real and Barca followed by Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Chelsea. Real have revenues of £373 million (€438.6m) compared with £338.6 million (€398.1m) at Barca and £297.5 million (€349.8m) at Old Trafford.
Real's revenues are up 9.3%, Barca by 8.8% and United 7%.
The financial study ranks clubs purely based upon the revenue they bring in rather than the wealth of their owners or profit and loss from 2009-10 accounts. The earning-power of the Premier League means seven of the 20 clubs are from England.
The big movers are Manchester City, who entered in 20th place a year ago but have now shot up to 11th with revenues of £152.8 million - up 49.5% on 12 months ago. They look certain to climb even further if they begin to enjoy the riches of the Champions League in future seasons.
AS Roma suffer the biggest drop, with the Serie A side falling six places to 18th with a 16% reduction in revenue. Liverpool fall one place to eighth with Spurs up three to 12th.
Vfb Stuttgart and Aston Villa are new clubs in this year's list.
Juventus (10th) get 65% of their revenue from broadcasting deals, compared to Bundesliga side Hamburg with 23% (10th).
Arsenal enjoy the largest matchday revenue of 42% as they reap the rewards of moving from Highbury to Emirates Stadium, with Juve bringing in just 8% from their Stadio Olimpico games.
Schalke are most reliant on commercial business as that brings in 57% of their revenue, with 20th place Aston Villa just 15%.
Deloitte Money League
1 (1) Real Madrid - €438.6m
2 (2) FC Barcelona - €398.1m
3 (3) Manchester United - €349.8m
4 (4) Bayern Munich - €323m
5 (5) Arsenal - €274.1m
6 (6) Chelsea - €255.9m
7 (10) AC Milan - €235.8m
8 (7) Liverpool - €225.3m
9 (9) Internazionale - €224.8m
10 (8) Juventus - €205m
11 (20) Manchester City - €152.8m
12 (15) Tottenham Hotspur - €146.3m
13 (11) Hamburg - €146.2m
14 (13) Lyon - €146.1m
15 (14) Marseille - €141.1m
16 (16) Schalke 04 - €139.8m
17 (18) Atlético Madrid - €124.5m
18 (12) AS Roma - €122.7m
19 (n/a) VfB Stuttgart - €114.8m
20 (n/a) Aston Villa - €109.4m
How this list makes any sense is beyond me. How can you only look at the revenues and not the expenses? This list should only look at overall profit. Barca lost 71 million last season and they are 2nd on the list. Bayern actually makes a profit every year.

Interviewed by Algemeen Dagblad, Sneijder said: “I got frustrated under Benitez… He wanted me to play as a striker.
“Leonardo works in the same way that Jose Mourinho did. I feel better now.”
Inter have won eight of their 10 games since Benitez was dismissed.
Sneijder has also scored in his last three matches for club and country.
Shoulda played him as a defenders like Mourinho did with Eto'o.

How much for a J.B Barca shirt......I'd buy one :great: ......Barca should really consider it. They would sell like hot cakes among Bieber's 10 year old fan girls.

Mario Gomez has 27 goals in the Bundesliga alone. From the bench to being one of the best! :undecided:
So glad we didn't let go of him.

cristiano ronaldo is in frightening form at the moment. Who can stop him?! 38 league goals for the season, equalling the la liga record set by hugo sanchez. One more match left this season to break the record. I would not bet against him, especially considering the match is at home vs. bottom of the table Almeria :lol_hitting:
Also, he has 51 goals overall this season :undecided: destroying his previous best of 42.
Hala King Ronnie! :You_Rock_Emoticon:
-
I wish he wasn't used a pure forward though... totally limits parts of his game and makes him boring to watch compared to Messi.
-
Congrats to Barca, Dortmund, and Man U for winning their leagues! Well deserved there! :PDT_Armataz_01_37:

The City of Manchester Stadium is now Etihad Stadium as a result of a sponsorship deal worth up to £400 million ($642.4 million) -- a new world record for this kind of sports sponsorship -- between Sheikh Mansour's Man City and Etihad Airways. Man City chief executive Garry Cook is calling it, "one of the most important arrangements in the history of world football." Conveniently, it will also go a long way in helping big-spending Man City work toward breaking even to adhere to UEFA's new financial fair play rules.
The Guardian puts this number in perspective:
The 10-year agreement, which means City's ground is renamed the Etihad Stadium, will be worth more than twice the previous record, JP Morgan Chase's $300m (£187m) [partnership over 10 years with] Madison Square Garden, while simultaneously demonstrating the growing disparity between the top clubs in English football.
To put it into context, the deal Arsenal struck with Emirates in 2004 was valued at £90m [$144.5m] over 15 years. Around £48m of that came via shirt sponsorship, with the naming rights worth only £2.8m a year. Chelsea and Tottenham have both scoured the market for a deal in the region of £10-15m [$16.1-24.1m] a year but found no serious interest. Newcastle have also been unable to find a sponsor since the club's owner, Mike Ashley, tested the waters with a short-term arrangement in the 2009-10 season that resulted in their ground taking the name of his sportswear business as the sportsdirect.com@St James' Park Stadium.

oh so that is how man city intend break-even for the uefa rules. Smart business, but ummm i wonder what etihad airways gets out of this :017: How do they quantify the goodwill they get from brand awareness etc.
I wonder how man city fans feel too. Everything is changing even the stadium name. Soon the team name maight change too: Etihad fc. Hehe how does that sound city fans?

Bayern beat AC Milan in the Audi Cup on penalties. Bayern dominated the entire match.
Then Barcelona beat Bayern 2-0 in the final. Both teams played their B sides. Barca's Thiago looked really good and scored both goals.

crazy gooal by benayoun in pre-season for chelsea haha. Heel juggles like a freestyler :great: .....well not quite, but still good control
-
Wow, that's insane! He's quite an underrated talent.
-
benayoun is very talented. But he is not underrated because he is sooo inconsistent. I remember watching him at West Ham and he was amazing! Great dribbling ability and incredible pass vision. He was one of my favourite players back then.
But at chelsea he became average. I dont know why.......old age maybe :017: :017:

Amateur side US Quevilly were the darlings of the Coupe de France this season, toppling Ligue 1 sides like Marseille and Rennes on their way to an improbably appearance in the final. On Saturday, Lyon (wearing their new 3D kit) put an end to the fourth-division club's giant-killing ways by winning the final 1-0.
But when it came time to lift the trophy, Lyon captain Cris called Quevilly captain Gregory Beaugrard up into the stands to raise it with him. Beaugrard looked a bit sheepish about lifting a trophy he didn't win with a team that wasn't his own, but Cris' intentions were to recognize Quevilly's impressive efforts, even if it did come off as an act of pity.
