Title: TATW
Post by: Andy on Mar 23, 2008, 12:00: PM
This is one of my favouite tricks i have seen since i started freestyling, but i cant do it  :saywhat:

My first ever trick i learnt was the crossover but i learn it with me right foot going over the ball, so now when im learning the TATW i have to change to me left foot going over ( thats the bit were i keep fallig )

Anyone got any tips on how i should train the crossover on my right foot ( left foot going over the ball )

When I learned crossover I did it the same way as you. When I whanted to do tatw I practised only crossover with my right foot going over the ball. It took me a one day to do that. So I just started doing atw. I found that tatw was more easier for me when I didnt hit the ball so high and after two week practising I managed to do tatw. Ou I almost forgot, important is timing to. You must find the right moment to jump. It will come by practising so good luck and keep up good work.

Sorry about my bad English!

just learn the weak crossover, palle chose to learn atw weakfoot first and now his tatw 'weakfoot' is even better than his other foot (he's a lefty and does tatw almost always with right leg, his ability of having a good tatw on weakfoot made notouches a lot easier for him)

practice the TATW from foot stall first, and then from juggle, its easier to learn it that way

its not harder you dumb bastard, its easier than the normal way, and if your learning TATW the worst thing you can do is start practising it By Juggling, cuz you can get seriously injured if you dont know what your doing (example, you can step on the ball in the middle of doing the move)

this was one of the biggest bulshit bosts i've ever read

atw from footstall is easier than from juggling but a tatw from footstall is much more difficult than from juggling. these are two different things and your post showed that u dont have any clue about freestyle. so o a favour to all beginners and dont give them tips because what u say about some tricks is just stupid.

Seeing as though i myself am a begginner freestyler, and i have done TATW both in juggling and in combo, i find that the TATW from foot stall is easier than from juggling.....

well, thats up to the guy who asked for the advice in the first place to decide right?
he will try all the different methods and he will use the one he feels more comfortable with, so whats the point arguing about it?

i started with right crossover and yeh tatw was harder to learn but not impossible..

the key is to start the tatw low.

do an atw low to the ground, when u get 3/4 round the ball , try to flick it up with ur big toe.
if ur have trouble getting ur left foot over the ball, it means ur probs not hitting it high enuf or ur timing ur tatw wrong.

i think the easiest way is to do it from a standard flick up at first because u have greater control over the ball.

its harder from footstall because with footstall, when you do the atw part, the ball goes relatively high and that is dangerous for tatw as the chances of stacking increase

once u get it, it'll become easy :)..but keep practicing and my suggestion is work on ur timing...try to watch vids where ppl show tatw close up (hard to find i know..lol) and see how they do it ;)

first of all u learn atw cross in combos not such good combos practice your cross to get it high enough then ur atw low so then when get to 3/4 around the ball of the atw jump and hit the crossover fucken hard. and what hepled me master it was i just though of doing a normal atw and a crossover not just 1 swift movement which i do but its like 2 movements in my mine hard to explain :)

DO NOT DO TATW FROM A FOOTSTALL IF YOUR LEARNING IT!  :cursing:

I nearly broke my hand by doing it, i bent it right back its still hurting now after 5 days  :bang:

After that i went on to learning the crossover on my other foot and i learnt that in 2 days, should i move back to the TATW?

yer, when i learnt tatw somebody told me that its not atw+crossover, its a whole different move...
so think of tatw as one trick, not a combination of 2, because you dont really do a crossover motion in the second part of tatw, its more of a flick with your toes as your left leg follows over the ball... and like colin said, the main thing is to do you atw low and fast!!!

i did tatw before atw-atw lol, probably a mistake though... you should always build yourself up from the basics before attempting harder shit
