Yes hes back and I really hope he wins the Golden Boot for the Bundesliga this year

Well Ozil and Marko Marin both play for Werder Bremen so things could get interesting if either one of them is played

Ozil is definatley a main player but i hope Marco Marin can get a starting spot he really is a talent

The Problem is Ozil needs to be supplied the ball to the wing and dieogo did that
Title: Re: German Bundesliga: 2009-2010
Post by: Sule on Aug 13, 2009, 09:55: AM
I think if Ozil can find his feet early in the season then he'll do really well and this game will be a huge test for his mental game

If i was the coach at Werder Bremen I would use Marin as a late impact sub for the tight games because his speed could run defenders into the ground especially 80min+

What do you guys think about Wolfsburg and their chances for this season and Champs League?

I really think they can spark the German reputation after all the Bayern days it nice to see a change. But their strike force need to be on song

Bundesliga will be interesting this year.  There are about 8-10 teams that are good and can push sides like Bayern, Wolfsburg, Hamburg all the way.

Hence why its the best league in the world *cough cough*  and most competitive

Im really hoping that Dzeko and Grafite light things up in Europe because they're really special together and Misimovic is quite the talent

Hamburg should do well with Petric and Berg up front and the summer signing of Ze Roberto to strengthen the midfield

Hoffenheim lose 1-0. Seems like it was a very dull game

Bayern 1-1 Werder Bremen. Ozil scored first but Bayern took control of the rest of the match and eventually got one back. Olic played well from what i saw. On a side note, Bayern has a kid by the name Hans Muller who Ive really started to take a shine to,

Muller looks like trash but he's actually quite the talent.  I hope he pans out.

his face or career?

So after two games played Wolfsburg and Schalke are still perfect at the top while Koln are the only winless team at the moment. Hoffenheim only have one point, and Bayern and Werder have two.

Schalke, Hamburg and Wolfsburg have all scored 5 goals (most atm) and schalke and wolfsburg have only conceded once as of yet.

On Sunday, Schalke 3-0 vs Bochum, and in the other game, Monchengladbach vs Hertha ended 2-1 for M.Gladbach

Did some research, its not Hans Muller i like , its Thomas Muller. He's from the youth academy and he did exceptionally well in pre-season.

Anyone here think that Ozil will make Werder Bremen better or is that just me..?

Muller was playing well last season too even in champions league at one stage
He's a great winger but can also play striker

Friday 21st August

20:30 Hoffenheim - Schalke

Saturday 22nd August

15:30 Borussia Dortmund - Stuttgart
15:30 Koeln – Eintracht Frankfurt
15:30 SC Freiburg – Bayer Leverkusen
15:30 Mainz – Bayern Munich
15:30 Nurnberg - Hannover

Sunday 23rd August

15:30 Bochum – Hertha Berlin
17:30 Wolfsburg - Hamburg
17:30 Werder Bremen – Bor. Moenchengladbach

The notables are winless Hoffenheim against Schalke. I predict a 2-1 scoreline, with no clue on who's going to actually win.
Also Wolfsburg v Hamburg is big seeing as are playing very well while Wolfsburg are unbeaten in the season and are looking strong out of the gates.

Just watched the Hoffenheim - Schalke game from 25min to 55min. Very uneventful, Hoffenheim had all the chances but never took a shot always passing to the next guy instead and Schalke got maybe 3 chances in the time that I watched it.

Was very impressed with Kenia who came on for Schalke at halftime. Fitted in seamlessly and did well to halt Hoffenheim's right sided attacks.

I was hoping that Ibisevic would be doing better, Hoffenheim as well. They've only scored 1 goal in 3 games  :bang:

Bayern is struggling to say the least.  The lack of effort pissed me right off.  Second half was better but that's too late to start playing.

Ozil is a poorer version of Ribery.  In other words, he's damn good.  I think he'll be great for Bremen and Germany.
Title: Re: German Bundesliga: 2009-2010
Post by: Sule on Aug 25, 2009, 07:46: AM
think he can be a technically better version of Ballack for Bremen and germany (I think..)
Title: Re: German Bundesliga: 2009-2010
Post by: Adi on Aug 25, 2009, 09:35: AM
Really?  I couldn't disagree more.  Ballack is a completely different type of player.  That's like comparing Shaun Wright Phillips or Joe Cole to Lampard or Ballack.  Totally different players.
Title: Re: German Bundesliga: 2009-2010

Well I can see him becoming a type of midfield General in the future. But not one thats all about power and tactical positioning. I see him being able to sit behind the striker in the Italian trequartista role and use his great technical ability to his advantage. I compared him to the Ballack of Bayern and germany because I can easily see Ozil carrying the NT and Werder Bremen at times whne shit gets tough, like Ballack often did

Oh, are you talking about him having the same impact as Ballack?  If so, then I can understand but if you are saying their playing styles are comparable, then I disagree completely.  Ozil will always be a final-third player, not a box to box midfielder.  I don't see him being a midfield general.  I think you need to be far more vocal and balanced in order to be that.  De Rossi and Gerrard are good examples.

Yea Ozil just doesnt have the mental and defenseive toughness that Ballack had to drag his team through thick and thin.

And I agree, De Rossi has the potential to be world-reknowned box-to-box kinda guy

Friday 28th August (all times local)

20:30 Borussia Moenchengladbach - Mainz

Saturday 29th August

15:30 VfB Stuttgart - Nurnberg

15:30 Schalke - Freiburg

15:30 Bayer Leverkusen - Bochum

15:30 Hannover - Hoffenheim

15:30 Eintracht Frankfurt – Borussia Dortmund

18:30 Bayern Munich - Wolfsburg

Sunday 30th August

15:30 Hertha Berlin – Werder Bremen

17:30 Hamburg - Koeln

Noticeables:
Hertha Berlin - Werder Bremen
Bayern - Wolfsburg

Everyone will be looking at the Bayern/Wolfsburg tie to see just how much Ribery's arrival can affect the teams (so far) horrible performances. Wolfsburg lost last weekend to Hamburg and will be looking to not lose twice in a row. Should be entertaining. I picked the Werder Bremen game as a noticeable simply because both teams are very solid, balanced, and organized. Hertha lost Simunic to Hoffenheim this summer which has hindered their defense a touch but both these teams are looking towards European Football next year and they will both view this game as a must-win

hold on everybody dont get ahead of yourselves now bayern munich is just getting off to a slow start once they get hot there arent many teams that will be able to stop them and the way klose played today for the national team its only looking up and up.

Man, Klose needs to get his shit together.  He's scored in consecutive games for Germany but hasn't done anything for Bayern.  That's probably because he's playing such poor teams with the national team.  I'm a Bayern fan so I hope he turns it around.

Welcome to the forum by the way!

Mainz score 3 goals vs Bayern to win 2-1

Dortmund and Kagawa continue the good form with a 4-1 win.

Bayer Leverkusen thrash Stuttgart 4-1 as well.

Werder Bremen nearly gave up a 2 goal lead to Hamburg but for Ze Roberto's late goal to win 3-2.

Hannover96 continue their top flight form against Kaiserslautern, who beat Bayern Munich a few weeks ago, 1-0. Kaiserslautern have lost 2 straight now.

And, Wolfsburg have rediscovered their old friend Grafite who has scored 4 goals in his last 2 games, keeping Wolfsburg on a 3 game win streak.

Basel 1-2 Bayern
Schweinsteiger with both goals

Schalke 2-0 Benfica
Huntelaar and Farfan on the double
